Nice campsite. You can hear the noise of traffic on Route 10. Some trash around the site but not a lot. Those stairs from the water to the campsite...the water is DEEP after that last step. It made getting the dogs off the paddleboard bit tricky. Getting back on was easier because the stairs seem to float a bit so I could get the bow right on a stair for stability.I could not find the privy but I am sure it is there somewhere. - Scott Graham-Stephens

Horse Meadow Campsite Introduce

Looking for a campsite near you with water access? Horse Meadow Campsite, located at 4X38+6W5, Haverhill, NH 03774, USA, offers a potentially scenic camping experience in New Hampshire. For local users searching within the 'camping near me' category, Horse Meadow Campsite appears to provide a natural setting with direct access to water, although some considerations regarding noise and facilities should be noted based on recent reviews. While a direct phone number isn't provided, contact information for the managing authority, likely the New Hampshire State Parks or a similar entity, can often be found through an online search.

The environment of Horse Meadow Campsite is characterized by its proximity to water, as indicated by one reviewer's experience with paddleboarding and stairs leading from the campsite to the water. This suggests that the campsite offers direct access to a lake or river, providing opportunities for water-based activities. However, another reviewer noted that the noise of traffic on Route 10 can be heard at the campsite, which might impact the tranquility of the natural setting. Additionally, there was a mention of "some trash around the site but not a lot," suggesting that while generally pleasant, campers might encounter some minor litter. Overall, the environment seems to be defined by its water access, potentially scenic views, but with the caveat of nearby road noise and the possibility of some litter.

Information regarding the services at Horse Meadow Campsite is somewhat limited in the provided reviews. One reviewer mentioned not being able to locate the privy (outhouse) but assumed it was present. This suggests that the campsite likely offers basic sanitation facilities. The presence of stairs leading from the campsite to the water implies some level of infrastructure to facilitate water access. However, details about other potential services, such as designated campsites, fire pits, picnic tables, or water spigots, are not mentioned. To get a clearer picture of the services available at Horse Meadow Campsite, local users would likely need to consult official sources, such as a New Hampshire State Parks website or other camping directories that might list the amenities offered at this specific location.

The features of Horse Meadow Campsite, based on the reviews, include direct access to water, which can be a significant draw for those interested in swimming, paddling, or simply being near the water. The unique aspect of stairs leading into the water, described by one reviewer, presents both an opportunity and a challenge for water entry and exit, particularly with pets. The depth of the water at the end of the stairs being "DEEP" is a notable feature for those planning water activities. On the other hand, the noise from nearby Route 10 could be considered a less desirable feature for those seeking a completely quiet natural retreat. The uncertainty about the privy's location in one review suggests that facilities might be somewhat basic or not immediately obvious. For a comprehensive understanding of the features, including the type of water access, the layout of campsites, and the availability of specific amenities, further information from official sources would be needed.

Currently, no promotional information is available for Horse Meadow Campsite based on the provided reviews. As it appears to be a more basic or possibly a public campsite (given the lack of direct booking information or contact details in the reviews), any fees or booking procedures would likely be outlined on a relevant state or local authority's website. Local users interested in camping here should check those resources for any information on permits, fees, or seasonal availability. It's less likely that individual campsites like this would have specific promotions, but it's always worth looking for general promotions related to camping within the New Hampshire state park system or the Haverhill area.

In summary, Horse Meadow Campsite in Haverhill, New Hampshire, offers a 'camping near me' option with direct water access, which can be appealing for those who enjoy being by the water. However, potential campers should be aware of the possibility of traffic noise from Route 10 and the need to be mindful of the water entry/exit via stairs, especially with pets. Basic sanitation facilities, such as a privy, are likely available, though their location might not be immediately apparent. For local users interested in this campsite, it is recommended to seek out official information from New Hampshire State Parks or local camping resources to get details on services, features, fees, and any regulations. This will help you determine if Horse Meadow Campsite is the right choice for your outdoor adventure.

For local residents looking for 'camping near me' with water access in the Haverhill area, Horse Meadow Campsite presents a possibility. The reviews highlight both the benefit of being close to the water and some potential drawbacks like road noise. If you're interested in a campsite where you can easily enjoy swimming or paddling, this might be an option to explore further. Check with the relevant authorities to understand the specific amenities available and any rules or recommendations for campers at this location.

When considering 'camping near me' in Haverhill, New Hampshire, Horse Meadow Campsite offers a waterfront setting. As a local user, you might find its accessibility appealing. However, the feedback regarding traffic noise and the basic nature of the facilities suggests it might be a more rustic camping experience. To decide if it meets your needs, it would be beneficial to find more detailed information from official sources about the campsite's amenities, regulations, and any associated fees. This will help you prepare for your local camping trip.
