Based on recent customer reviews, this campground provides opportunities for swimming, features a unique pond with turtles, offers cabin rentals, and fosters a welcoming environment for all campers.
One of the standout features of Thompson Hill Campground, according to visitor feedback, is its appeal to families. The positive comments about "family time" suggest that the campground is designed to cater to guests of all ages, providing a setting where families can create lasting memories together. The availability of swimming adds to this family-friendly appeal, offering a refreshing way to cool off during the warmer months and providing entertainment for children and adults alike.
The presence of a pond is another notable environmental feature of Thompson Hill Campground. One reviewer described it as "neat" and mentioned the presence of turtles, adding an element of natural curiosity and potential wildlife observation for campers. This pond could also offer opportunities for other water-related activities, although the reviews specifically mention swimming. The overall sentiment from this visitor was that they had a "very fun time," and everyone in their group was "extremely happy," indicating a positive and enjoyable experience at the campground.
Thompson Hill Campground also offers cabin rentals, providing a more sheltered and comfortable accommodation option compared to traditional tent camping. One reviewer who rented a new cabin for two nights in late July described the check-in process as smooth. While the cabin was initially hot upon arrival, it was equipped with a fan and a bedroom window AC unit that effectively cooled it down. This suggests that the cabins are designed with some level of climate control for guest comfort. The reviewer also specifically noted that the queen bed in the cabin was "very comfortable," which is a significant aspect for a restful night's sleep.
The cabins at Thompson Hill Campground appear to be well-equipped for self-catering. The review mentioned that the kitchen was "fully furnished with dishes, utensils, ice trays, and everything you might need." This comprehensive provision of kitchenware suggests that guests renting cabins can easily prepare their own meals, offering convenience and cost savings. The reviewer also helpfully listed items that guests will need to bring, including bedding linens, towels, camp chairs, food & drinks, and toiletries. This information is valuable for local users planning a cabin stay, as it clearly outlines what is provided and what they need to pack.
While the cabins seem to offer a comfortable sleeping experience with at least one comfortable queen bed, another reviewer mentioned that the other beds in a different cabin were "not so comfortable" but appreciated that they were "at least offered." This suggests that the comfort level of beds might vary between different accommodation types or individual units within the campground. If bed comfort is a significant concern, it might be worth inquiring about the specific bedding arrangements in the cabin you are considering renting.
The staff at Thompson Hill Campground also receive positive feedback. One reviewer described the people at the store as "pretty kind," indicating a friendly and helpful customer service experience. This can significantly enhance the overall atmosphere of a campground and contribute to a more enjoyable stay.
In terms of essential facilities, Thompson Hill Campground provides porter potties and a bathroom, and one reviewer noted that these were "very clean." Clean and well-maintained restroom facilities are crucial for a comfortable camping experience, and this positive feedback is reassuring for potential visitors.
For evening gatherings and a traditional camping experience, Thompson Hill Campground offers a "cozy" bonfire at night. Bonfires can be a great way to socialize with other campers, enjoy the outdoors after dark, and create a quintessential camping ambiance.
One minor issue mentioned in a review was an electrical outlet that didn't work, even though the guest had paid for electricity. However, the reviewer noted that "it was okay though," suggesting it didn't significantly detract from their overall positive experience. Nevertheless, it might be prudent for campers relying on electricity to check the functionality of their outlets upon arrival and report any issues to the management.
Finally, the reviews mention that the "seasonal campers are very friendly." A welcoming community atmosphere can greatly enhance the camping experience, making it feel more inclusive and enjoyable, especially for new visitors.

Jul 31, 2022 · John BreaultThis IS a fantastic campgrounds! I got fresh out of the oven pumpkin whoopee pies at their store! The grounds are very well maintained. Nice terraced and level lots with ample space. Top of the hill views and they have a beautiful swimming pond open to the public.. a nice community give back as well as a fishing pond and pool. LOTS of places and things at the childrens/ adults play areas. If you are disappointed here there is something wrong with you not their campgrounds!
Sep 03, 2022 · Jack KidderLate in the season last year we found THCG and we have quickly become regulars! The owner, staff, and seasonal campers are always more than welcoming and kind, prices are super affordable and reasonable. The cabins are very tighty and give you easy access to the ponds to swim and fish and to the playgrounds. Its just a short walk down the hill to the pool or the store which has a wide range of food, ice cream, camping goodies, attire, and more! We can never get enough of this place! 🙌❤️
Jun 27, 2023 · Mckenzie SabinMy family and I wanted to do something for the day locally and went here for the day and had a horrible experience. The help was not only lazy but rude. We spent $200 in less then 3 hours and were asked to pay for Wi-Fi after I asked why the pool was green and slimy. The pond was almost empty and fun of slime. Then I asked to use the bathroom and was told to use woods. Never again.
