Strawberry Bay Campground Loop G Introduce
Looking for a memorable 'camping near me' experience in the scenic Utah landscape? Strawberry Bay Campground Loop G, located off FR452 in Utah, USA, offers a compelling option, particularly for those interested in fishing at Strawberry Reservoir and RV camping. You can reach them at (801) 999-2103 or +1 801-999-2103 for inquiries and reservations. Based on recent customer reviews, Loop G boasts friendly and helpful hosts, good basic amenities, and fantastic fishing opportunities, although potential campers should be aware of the lack of shade and windy conditions.
The environment surrounding Strawberry Bay Campground Loop G is primarily characterized by its proximity to the renowned Strawberry Reservoir, making it an excellent base for fishing excursions. The melting snow runoff can occasionally lead to wet campsites in Loop G, as noted by one reviewer, suggesting that ground conditions might vary depending on the time of year and recent weather. Despite this, the overall location is described as a "great camping spot." A significant environmental factor to consider is the lack of trees, resulting in no natural shade within the campground. This can lead to discomfort during hot and sunny days. Additionally, the area is reported to be "very windy during the day," which could impact the camping experience, especially for tent campers. However, the fresh air and the allure of the outdoors and the nearby reservoir remain strong attractions.
The services at Strawberry Bay Campground Loop G are generally viewed positively. Reviewers highlight the presence of "good bathrooms" and the availability of water. Each campsite is equipped with at least one picnic table and a covered area, which provides some protection from the elements, although not from the sun or wind. The campground hosts from AR/MO are consistently praised for their kindness, friendliness, and helpfulness. They are noted for being attentive to the facilities and assisting campers in finding suitable sites, even under challenging conditions. While specific hookups (electrical, water, sewer) are not explicitly mentioned as being available at each site, the focus on dry camping and the suitability for RVs suggests that basic amenities for self-contained units are likely present, though confirmation with the campground is recommended.
Strawberry Bay Campground Loop G offers several key features that make it a desirable 'camping near me' destination for certain types of campers. The "fantastic" fishing at Strawberry Reservoir is a major draw. The presence of good bathrooms and readily available water ensures basic comfort and convenience. The provision of at least one picnic table and a covered area at each site enhances the functionality and usability of the individual campsites. The exceptionally kind and helpful campground hosts contribute significantly to a positive visitor experience. The campground's suitability for RVs and campers, with more space than typical RV parks (as mentioned in a review of a different loop at Strawberry Bay), suggests a comfortable setup for those with their own shelter and amenities. However, the significant drawbacks are the lack of trees for shade, which can make daytime hours uncomfortable during hot weather, and the prevalence of strong winds during the day. These factors make the loop less ideal for tent camping, as noted by one reviewer.
Currently, there is no specific promotional information available in the provided text for Strawberry Bay Campground Loop G. However, given that it is part of the Strawberry Bay recreation area, it is likely subject to standard fees and reservation policies for campgrounds in the region. Potential campers should inquire about nightly rates, any potential discounts for longer stays, and the reservation process when contacting the campground directly at the provided phone numbers. It would also be wise to ask about any specific regulations regarding generator use outside of quiet hours, pet policies, and other relevant guidelines to ensure a smooth and enjoyable camping trip.
The positive experience of the first reviewer, despite the wet campsites due to snow runoff, underscores the appeal of the location and the excellent service provided by the hosts. Their willingness to help find a better site and their attentiveness to the facilities, even with limited preparation time, speaks highly of the campground management. The fantastic fishing further enhances the overall experience for those interested in angling.
The second reviewer provides a more balanced perspective, highlighting both the positives (good bathrooms, water availability, covered picnic tables) and the negatives (no shade, windy conditions). This objective feedback is valuable for potential campers to consider their preferences and the type of camping they plan to do. The strong recommendation that the area is better suited for RVs and campers than tents is a crucial piece of information for those considering different types of camping setups.
The lack of trees for shade is a significant environmental factor that cannot be overlooked, especially during the summer months. Campers planning to spend extended time at their site during the day should come prepared with their own shade structures or be aware that they might experience discomfort due to the heat. Similarly, the windy conditions could pose challenges for tent campers and those looking to have outdoor meals or activities at their campsite during the day. Securing belongings and choosing a sheltered site (if available) might be necessary.
In conclusion, Strawberry Bay Campground Loop G offers a compelling 'camping near me' option in Utah, particularly for RV owners and those primarily interested in the excellent fishing at Strawberry Reservoir. The friendly and helpful hosts and the availability of good basic amenities contribute to a positive experience. However, potential campers must be prepared for the lack of shade and potentially windy conditions, which may make tent camping less ideal. Contacting the campground directly for the most up-to-date information on fees, reservations, and specific site amenities is recommended to ensure a well-planned and enjoyable camping trip.

Strawberry Bay Campground Loop G Reviews
We had never been to Strawberry Reservoir camping before. Because of the run off from melting snow, loop G had some wet campsites. The campground hosts from AR/MO were so kind, friendly and helped us locate a better site. They were very attentive to the facilities despite not having much warning prior to Memorial Day and the cooler conditions. The fishing was fantastic and our overall experience was amazing.
Jun 11, 2023 · Andrea MarionGreat camping spot. There are good bathrooms and water is available. Each spot has at least one picnic table and a covered area. The negatives are that there is no trees for shade and it is very windy during the day. We were miserable for a few hours in the middle of the day because of the heat and excessive wind. This area is better suited for RVs and campers and less for tents.
Jul 05, 2021 · Tyler HuishVery nice campground. You're a little spaced out so not right on top of each other. Crowded but surprisingly quiet. No one bugged us. We had the dogs on long leashes so they could wander a bit. Cools down a lot a night. Great place.
Jun 28, 2021 · SHERRY NICHOLESProbably one of the nicest camp grounds I have stayed at. There was a lot of stickers so you have to have shoes and I dont think I would want to bring my dog. But the bathrooms were great. Nicest bathrooms I have ever had while camping.
Jun 27, 2022 · Jon EnglishCampground was full but peaceful and quiet at night. Camp host was easy going. Easy to work with. Camping was windy and it rained but it was a fun experience.
