Thousand Trails Medina Lake (RV Campground) Introduce
If you're searching for "camping near me" in the Texas Hill Country, Thousand Trails Medina Lake (RV Campground), located at 215 Spettle Rd, Lakehills, TX 78063, offers a potentially pleasant RV park experience. Based on recent customer feedback, the RV park itself is noted for being nice and clean, which can be a significant factor for travelers seeking a comfortable and hygienic environment for their recreational vehicles. The friendly staff also contributes to a positive initial impression upon arrival, suggesting a welcoming atmosphere within the campground.
One of the key amenities highlighted in the reviews is the presence of a nice pool. This can be a significant draw, especially during the warmer months in Texas, providing a refreshing opportunity for relaxation and recreation for guests of all ages. However, it's important to note that the pool is not heated, which might be a consideration for visitors during cooler periods of the year.
While the RV park itself receives positive remarks for cleanliness and staff friendliness, some aspects of the sites themselves appear to need attention. One review mentions that the sites require "a ton of work," suggesting potential issues with their condition or upkeep. This could encompass various factors such as the levelness of the ground, the availability and functionality of hookups (electricity, water, sewer), or the overall appearance of the individual camping spaces. Prospective visitors might want to inquire about the specific conditions of the sites when making reservations.
A significant environmental factor to be aware of is the current state of Medina Lake. According to the reviews, the lake is currently empty due to a lack of rain. This is a crucial piece of information for those who might be planning water-based activities such as boating or fishing during their camping trip. The absence of water in the lake directly impacts the recreational opportunities available at the campground and in the surrounding area. Therefore, it is essential for potential visitors to be aware of this situation and adjust their plans accordingly. If your primary reason for choosing a campground at Medina Lake was for lake access, you may need to consider alternative locations or activities during your stay.
In terms of infrastructure within the campground, one reviewer suggested that more trash cans around the park would be beneficial. Adequate waste disposal facilities are important for maintaining the cleanliness and overall appeal of any campground. The feedback indicates a potential need for improvement in this area to enhance the guest experience.
It's also worth noting the external surroundings of the RV park. One review mentions the presence of "lots of run down areas and destroyed houses and trailers out side the park." While this does not directly impact the conditions within the Thousand Trails Medina Lake (RV Campground) itself, it is information that some visitors might find relevant in terms of the overall aesthetic and feel of the location. This external environment is beyond the control of the campground management but is part of the broader context of the area.
Considering the category "camping near me," Thousand Trails Medina Lake (RV Campground) offers a location in Lakehills, Texas, providing an option for those seeking RV camping within the region. While the park boasts friendly staff and a clean RV area with a nice pool, potential guests should be aware of the reported need for site work and the current absence of water in Medina Lake. The suggestion for more trash cans indicates an area for potential improvement in terms of guest convenience and park maintenance. By taking these factors into account, local users can make an informed decision about whether this campground meets their specific needs and expectations for a camping experience near them.
For those specifically looking for RV camping options, Thousand Trails Medina Lake (RV Campground) provides essential amenities and a welcoming staff. However, it is advisable to inquire about the specific condition of your assigned site prior to arrival to ensure it meets your requirements. Additionally, given the current state of Medina Lake, it would be prudent to explore alternative recreational activities in the surrounding area or focus on enjoying the campground's other facilities, such as the pool. The cleanliness of the RV park itself remains a significant positive aspect, offering a comfortable base for your travels.
In summary, Thousand Trails Medina Lake (RV Campground) offers a clean RV park with friendly staff and a nice pool. However, potential visitors should be aware that the camping sites may need some work, Medina Lake is currently dry, and additional trash receptacles could enhance the guest experience. The surrounding area outside the park also has some rundown properties. By considering these factors, local users searching for "camping near me" can determine if this RV campground in Lakehills, Texas, aligns with their desired camping experience.

Thousand Trails Medina Lake (RV Campground) Reviews
The RV park is nice and clean . Lots of run down areas and destroyed houses and trailers out side the park. Lake is empty due to no rain. More trash cans around would be nice. Pool not heated
Feb 28, 2025 · Pam AndersonStaff was friendly. Pool was nice. Sites need a ton of work. Lake is dry so don’t bring a boat.
Apr 24, 2025 · Steven CarrickThis is my second trip to this park. I love the whole feel of the place! The deer are a welcome treat to watch and coming here when it's not crowded was great. I felt i had the whole place to myself
Mar 14, 2025 · Eddie MThe place is disgustingly gross!!!All of the restrooms are dirty(the ones that even work)! The laundromat is gross and dirty!!! There are employees sitting around inside at the office staring at the Walls...but...apparently don't care about the cleanliness of the amenities! Poor management!! When a manager doesn't know how to MANAGE and/or delegate,is when reputation of the entire establishment gets affected. I am a member and have left numerous times because I am disgusted with the dirtiness...!!! I have emailed, called and now, I am leaving a review. Next, I am canceling my membership. I would not suggest this place to ANYONE!!
