Tranquility Bay Resort Reviews
DO NOT STAY HERE!!! This was the worst place that I have ever rented. We stayed in Cabin 71 which advertised that it slept 8 and was fully furnished with full kitchen. Our reservation was for 5 adults and 2 children. After booking, we did not receive any type of confirmation or anything. After several hours of calling, I finally reached someone to tell me what time check-in was. This cabin is attached to the office which may actually be the old original office. It has not been touched in decades. The floor is peeling and bubbles up. The walls are full of mold. The AC is non existent and we could not get the air lower than 80 the whole time there. There were two window units which were duck taped with garbage bag boxes in the windows. The rooms smelled like rotten fish and sewer. The door frames were broken to bathrooms where we were left 4 bath towels for 7 people. The kitchen had no dishes and with one fork. The return air was a hole in the floor full of water. The beds…. I do not want to even think about it.This place needs to be reported to the board of health… IT WAS THAT TERRIBLE!!!The office was closed the entire weekend with no one reachable to speak to.If I could give this negative stars I would.
Apr 27, 2025 · Jamie MessinaWe brought our camper for Easter Weekend. Terrible place to camp. We’re promised internet, cable sewer hookups and got none of these. No outside lights even though there were polls. Pool had black water and run down and closed. We had a great spot by the lake but were the only camper there for 3 days. I see why. Nobody ever at office to help. Asked about cable and internet and staff wasn’t sure if they had it. They didn’t . Sewer lines malfunctioned even though maintenance checked out. Weeds all around our spot.
Apr 20, 2025 · SUSAN JONESWe stayed here for a couple of months for a job. Beautiful place on the lake and Tonya and her husband take great care of this place. She is awesome and so nice! Highly recommend 👌
Feb 11, 2025 · Jennie AdamsWe have vacationed here for many years. This year was a huge disappointment. The chairs were broken, and only a couple of burners worked. Absoulely no knifes glad we brought one. And the sewer smell out of the bathroom was horrible. Hate to say it. But, this was our last visit. We asked if other peoples who were renting cabins were theirs like ours, and they all said the same. It's cleaned like a deer camp cabin. At least we left it better than we found it. Sorry, tranquility bay, you have lost our future money.
Mar 18, 2025 · Kimberly ConklinI wouldn't stay at the Tranquility Bay resort again even if it were a last resort.First and foremost, we weren't sure about the check-in policy. We weren't provided with any emails explaining what to do upon arrival and the office door was locked and no one was anywhere to be found. We walked into our cabin, Cabin 14 and let's just say that there's no way it was cleaned. The floors were filthy, I ran smack into a huge cobweb, the cabin smelled like mildew and mold and the air conditioner was completely off.I would also suggest putting a broom in each unit. I went to the dollar store and bought cleaning supplies just so we could feel a little less "dirty!"The pictures also show a regular sized fridge in the cabin when in reality, it was a mini fridge. The toilet also didn't flush after the first day. We had to fill the tank on the back of it by using the bathroom garbage can. The utensils were also dirty in the drawers. There were also broken drawers in the bathroom. The pool was cloudy (which was expected due to rain) and there was glass on the sidewalks leading up to the pool. The grass is growing in the cracks of the sidewalk on the pool deck and the pool had sharp shards of cement on the walls that were broken.Lastly, the description of our cabin stated it slept 4. 2 in private bedroom (which door had to be open at night to get air) and a loft. The loft was absolutely never ever swept or cleaned. It was smoldering. It was approximately 85-90° up there. We had to buy fans and even then we still didn't allow our children to sleep in the loft. They slept on the recliners in the living room due to the heat. A heat disclaimer for summertime would've been nice. There's absolutely no way anyone can sleep up there during summer time.I did not call and report any of the above because when I called and spoke to the owner about a friend's wifi a few doors down, she told me to tell the kids to tough it out and go outside and play. The friend needed wifi for the baby who is under one. Although I agree children often use screens too much, that's not an opinion I would give someone who is renting from me for a rainy weekend. I felt like there was no point in calling. We toughed it out but WILL NEVER go there again. It is worth mentioning that the location is great, the place is very quiet, and it was some good fishing near the boat bays, however, the pier next to the boat bays seemed very very unsafe in some spots. This place has great potential, but unfortunately, it's severely neglected.
