Twin Springs Resort Campground Introduce
For local users in Wisconsin searching for "camping near me," Twin Springs Resort Campground, located at N6572 530th St, Menomonie, WI 54751, USA, presents a mixed picture based on recent customer reviews. While praised for its quiet atmosphere, cleanliness, friendly staff, and family-oriented amenities, some concerns have been raised regarding specific campsite conditions and proximity to neighboring sites. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview of the campground's environment, services, and features, drawing directly from the provided customer feedback to help local users make an informed decision.
A Quiet and Clean Environment with Friendly Service
Several aspects of Twin Springs Resort Campground receive positive mentions regarding its environment and service. One reviewer noted that the camp was "quiet and clean," which are highly desirable qualities for a relaxing camping experience. The peaceful atmosphere can be particularly appealing to those looking to escape the noise and bustle of everyday life. The cleanliness of the campground suggests that the management takes pride in maintaining a pleasant and hygienic environment for its guests.
The staff at Twin Springs Resort Campground also appear to be a significant asset. The same reviewer specifically mentioned that "every single staff person was very nice," indicating a commitment to hospitality and customer service. This friendly demeanor can greatly enhance the overall camping experience, making guests feel welcome and well-cared for during their stay. Additionally, the service of delivering firewood directly to the campsite is highlighted as a convenient and thoughtful touch.
Family-Friendly Amenities: Pool and Playground
For families with young children, Twin Springs Resort Campground offers amenities designed to keep them entertained. The presence of a "pool and a playground" is explicitly mentioned. These are popular features in campgrounds, providing opportunities for recreation, exercise, and fun for kids. The pool offers a place to swim and cool off during warmer weather, while the playground provides a safe and engaging area for children to play and burn off energy. While one reviewer noted they did not have young children, they recognized the value of these amenities for families.
The availability of "clean bathrooms and showers" is another important aspect of the campground's services. Clean and well-maintained facilities contribute significantly to the comfort and overall satisfaction of campers, regardless of their age or camping style.
Rustic Sites Among the Trees with Potential Drawbacks
One reviewer described their experience at a specific site (A11) which presented a less favorable picture. They noted that the sites were "situated among the trees," which offers the benefit of shade and a potentially scenic, rustic feel. The presence of "very pretty trees" further enhances the aesthetic appeal of the campground's natural setting.
However, this reviewer also pointed out significant drawbacks with their particular site. The lack of grass, resulting in a "very sandy" environment, could lead to issues with cleanliness and comfort. More concerning was the significant slant of the site (approximately 25%), making it challenging to find a level spot for camping. The only relatively flat area was reportedly far from the hookups, which could be inconvenient for RV users relying on these connections.
Another issue raised was the close proximity of campsites, described as "close enough to be obnoxious." This lack of space between sites can detract from the sense of privacy and tranquility that many campers seek. The reviewer also reported a negative experience with loud neighbors at the adjacent plot, highlighting the potential for noise disturbances depending on the proximity and behavior of other campers.
A Significant Concern: Proximity to Septic Tank Vent
The most severe issue reported by the reviewer at site A11 was the proximity to a septic tank vent located "right at the end of our plot." The resulting smell was described as "so bad that it stuck to the inside" of their vehicle, camper, and even their dogs. This odor was significant enough to cause considerable discomfort and necessitate spending a substantial amount on deodorizers to mitigate the smell. The reviewer understandably felt that a site with such a severe environmental drawback should either not be offered or should be priced accordingly, especially given the $170 cost for their stay.
Positive Experience on a Different Site
In contrast to the negative experience at site A11, another reviewer who stayed for one night reported a more positive experience. They described the campground as "rustic, with spaces situated among the trees," echoing the other reviewer's observation about the setting. However, they found their pull-through space to be "well drained, firm and my favorite, pretty level," indicating that site conditions can vary significantly within the campground.
This reviewer also noted "lots of space" at their site, which contradicts the other reviewer's experience of close proximity to neighbors. They also appreciated the amenities like the pool, which they recognized as being good for families. The manager was described as "friendly" and provided assistance in escorting them to their site with "full hookups." It is important to note that this reviewer mentioned "Cash or checks only" as the accepted forms of payment.
Conclusion and Recommendations for Local Users
Twin Springs Resort Campground offers a mixed bag of experiences based on the available reviews. The campground appears to excel in providing a quiet and clean environment with a friendly and helpful staff. The presence of family-friendly amenities like a pool and playground, along with clean bathrooms and showers, makes it an attractive option for those traveling with children.
However, potential local users should be aware that campsite conditions can vary significantly. The negative experience at site A11 highlights potential issues with uneven terrain, sandy conditions, close proximity to neighboring sites, and, most concerningly, proximity to a septic tank vent causing unpleasant odors. While another reviewer found their site to be level and spacious, this discrepancy suggests that it may be prudent to inquire about specific site conditions when making a reservation.
For local users considering Twin Springs Resort Campground, it would be advisable to contact the campground directly using the provided phone number, (715) 235-9321 or mobile phone +1 715-235-9321, to inquire about site availability and specific characteristics. Asking about the levelness, shade, proximity to amenities and other campsites, and potential for any odor issues, especially if booking a site near the reported problematic area, would be prudent steps to ensure a more satisfactory camping experience. Additionally, confirming the accepted payment methods (cash or checks only) is essential for a smooth check-in process.
While the positive aspects of Twin Springs Resort Campground, such as its quiet atmosphere and friendly service, are appealing, the significant issues reported at one campsite serve as a reminder that site selection can greatly impact the overall experience. Local users are encouraged to do their due diligence and communicate their preferences and concerns with the campground management when booking to try and secure a site that meets their needs and avoids potential drawbacks.

Twin Springs Resort Campground Reviews
The camp was quiet, and clean, and that was nice, they brought you firewood in a cold cart and every single staff person was very nice! They’ve got clean bathrooms and showers, a pool and a playground, so if you’ve got young ones (we don’t) this would be a good place! Now for the bad. We stayed at plot a11, lots of shade, very pretty trees… but no grass… so it was very sandy, and it was also slanted about 25% and the only flat spot was pretty far away from the hookups, and sadly it was very close to the plot next to us (close enough to be obnoxious) and the guy and his family where hammered and loud…but the worst thing of all? The vent for the septic tank was right at the end of our plot. The smell was so bad that it stuck to the inside of my Jeep, our camper, and to our dogs….. We came into town for a wedding, and I spent about 100 dollars on deodorants to get the smell out of my Jeep and camper. The dogs get a bath, whatever, but I feel like maybe that shouldn’t be a plot, for 170 bucks we got to smell like a septic tank at my best friends wedding. If I wanted to smell like that, I’d of gone to work with pigs.Maybe it was just my plot that was bad and that ruined my experience there, but I feel that something should be said.
Aug 21, 2024 · Tyler Nutter (Sneaky_Freak13)We stayed one night at this private campground a few miles off of I94. It is rustic, with spaces situated among the trees. Although not paved, they were well drained, firm and my favorite, pretty level. Lots of space, and amenities like a pool that would be good for a family. The manager was friendly and escorted us to our pull through space with full hookups. Cash or checks only.
Jun 20, 2024 · Donald SchafferWe got a camper just a couple of years ago, and have tried a handful of campgrounds in the area. On the surface this one wasn't anything special except having the outdoor pool. The playgrounds were ok(although they were assembling a brand new one when we were leaving) and the main building was not in the best shape. But the difference was the amount of hospitality and accomodations that were made for us from not only the owners but also everyone else that helps out there. We had a weekend planned and then we all ended up getting sick. We reached out to see what options there were and they were more than happy to move our weekend around to make it work with our schedule. And after we had gotten there, everyone was absolutely great to work with. I would recommend this campground to anyone who is looking for a great experience with some great people.
Jun 25, 2024 · Charlie GartnerThe best thing I can say is that it was available when we needed a place to stay. The man that greeted us was friendly and helpful. However, we have been on the road for several weeks and have usually paid anywhere from $10 to $30 a night less for a much nicer space. No full hookups, and the site went downhill making it difficult to level. We had to stay by the road in what seemed to me like extra or overflow parking, which would have been fine for one night, but $60 was twice as much as what it was worth.
Jun 22, 2023 · Richard ColemanGreat campground! New owners are really doing a wonderful job. Completely family operated. We were initially worried about staying here based off the old reviews from previous owenership, disregard those, they are irrelevant now.We had a baseball tournament out there and had 6 families stay here. New Owners were very accommodating and the campground was in great shape. We all especially loved the classic 1960s bar and game room that is still mostly intact and preserved. Very cool blast from the past campground bar.
