With contact numbers available at (503) 392-5100 and +1 503-392-5100, reaching out for inquiries and reservations is convenient for local users.
One of the most striking features of West Winds Campground, as highlighted by a recent visitor, is its direct access to opportunities for high-powered off-road vehicles. The review enthusiastically mentions it as an "Excellent place to hop on your high powered off road toy and let it rip." This suggests that the campground is strategically located near or provides access to designated OHV trails or areas where off-roading is permitted and enjoyed. For local residents who own and enjoy OHVs, this proximity is a significant advantage, offering a convenient and exciting destination for their recreational activities without the need for extensive travel. The reviewer also notes that while the area can get crowded, authorities are present to ensure safety and responsible behavior, providing a sense of security while still allowing for "Good times." This balance of freedom and oversight is crucial for a positive experience for all users.
Adding another dimension to the appeal of West Winds Campground is the availability of beach camping. A separate review from June 2022 specifically praises the "beach camping for 5 dollars a night!" and the "friendly and helpful" campground operators during their stay on the beach. This is an exceptional value and a highly sought-after experience along the Oregon coast. Waking up to the sounds of the ocean, having direct access to the sandy shores, and enjoying the coastal ambiance are unique features that beach camping offers. The incredibly affordable price point mentioned in the review makes West Winds Campground an even more attractive option for local families and individuals looking for an inexpensive coastal getaway.
It's important to note that the reviewer who experienced beach camping did not utilize the rest of the campground but observed it as "well taken care of driving through." This suggests that beyond the beach camping area, West Winds Campground offers additional camping facilities that are maintained to a good standard. While specific details about these facilities are not provided in the reviews, local users can likely expect standard campground amenities such as designated campsites, potential for different types of camping (e.g., tent, RV), and possibly shared facilities like restrooms and water sources. Given the positive mention of the campground operators' friendliness and helpfulness, it's reasonable to assume that staff are available to assist campers and provide necessary information.
The environment surrounding West Winds Campground is undoubtedly a key feature. Being located in Cloverdale, Oregon, it likely benefits from the natural beauty of the Oregon coast. This could include proximity to the Pacific Ocean, sandy beaches, coastal vegetation, and potentially nearby forests or other natural attractions. The combination of the coastal environment and the access to OHV areas creates a diverse landscape for outdoor activities. Local users can enjoy the tranquility of the beach, the excitement of off-roading, and the overall scenic beauty of the Oregon coast, all within close proximity to the campground.

- Availability of restrooms, showers, and water sources.
- Reservation procedures and fees for both beach camping and other campsites.
- Specific rules and regulations regarding OHV usage and beach camping.
- Any potential restrictions or guidelines for campers.
Currently, there is no explicit promotional information available in the provided reviews. However, the implicit promotions for local users are the unique combination of OHV access and affordable beach camping. The mention of only $5 per night for beach camping, if still accurate, is a significant draw. To further attract local campers, West Winds Campground could consider highlighting these unique features in local advertising or on online platforms. They could also promote the friendly and helpful nature of their staff, as mentioned in one of the reviews. Potential promotions could include off-season discounts for local residents, package deals combining camping and local OHV events, or highlighting any family-friendly aspects of the campground.
In conclusion, West Winds Campground in Cloverdale, Oregon, offers a distinctive experience for local outdoor enthusiasts. Its easy access to exciting OHV trails caters to those seeking adrenaline-fueled adventures, while its incredibly affordable beach camping provides a serene and picturesque coastal getaway. The friendly and helpful campground operators further enhance the appeal. West Winds Campground Reviews
Excellent place to hop on your high powered off road toy and let it rip. It can get crowded but the authorities make sure everyone stays in check but they don’t mess with you unless your acting like a fool. Good times, will be back.
Jan 08, 2019 · Adam SparksThe campground operators were friendly and helpful when we stayed on the beach June of 2022. Can't beat beach camping for 5 dollars a night! Can't speak to the rest of the campground didn't use it but it did seem well taken care of driving through.
Mar 02, 2024 · Nissan 180sxDidn't camp here. Came to visit some buddies who camped there. Great time flying ppg but not sure I would park the RV. Was told it gets rowdy at nite. Just a big concrete pad to park your rig but it's right next to the dunes. If I were in my 20s I'd love camping here : )
May 19, 2022 · David ConawayIt was a very busy weekend. I had planned on camping on the sand but just by luck got a spot that just opened up. We had a good time and everyone was friendly that we interacted with. All in all no complaints.
