Whitetail Bluff Campground Introduce
Looking for a local camping destination that offers a blend of amenities and natural beauty? Whitetail Bluff Campground, situated at 8973 Irish Ridge Rd, Cassville, WI 53806, USA, might be just the place for your next outdoor adventure. As a listing in the 'camping near me' category, this campground provides a convenient option for residents of the surrounding area seeking a quick escape. You can reach them at (608) 725-5577 or via mobile at +1 608-725-5577 to inquire about reservations and availability.
Based on recent customer feedback, Whitetail Bluff Campground presents a mixed experience with both notable positives and aspects to consider. Several reviewers highlighted the cleanliness, quiet atmosphere during the day, and peaceful surroundings. For RV enthusiasts, the campground boasts "top-notch" hookups, suggesting reliable and well-maintained utility connections for recreational vehicles. The hosts are frequently described as fun, friendly, and helpful, which can significantly enhance the overall camping experience through their positive interactions and assistance.
The campground offers a range of amenities that could appeal to various types of campers. One particularly mentioned feature is a swimming pool that is reported to be clean. Adding an element of unique fun is an obstacle course located in a pond with distinctly blue-colored water. This could be a major attraction for families and those looking for active recreation beyond traditional swimming. Additionally, the presence of an on-site restaurant is a significant convenience, offering campers the option to enjoy meals without having to cook at their campsite. While one review noted the food was "decent," having a restaurant on-site can be a definite plus for those who appreciate having dining options available.
However, potential visitors should be aware of some recurring concerns raised in the reviews. The location of Whitetail Bluff Campground is described as being a "little hard to drive to" due to a small and winding road leading to the property. This is an important consideration for those traveling with larger vehicles or those who prefer easily accessible locations. Furthermore, the internal road layout within the campground is mentioned as being "a little confusing and not well designed," which could potentially make navigating to your campsite challenging, especially upon arrival.
One reviewer noted that the campground seemed to have a higher number of permanent campsites compared to sites for transient travelers. This observation might suggest a strong sense of community among long-term residents but could also influence the overall atmosphere of the campground for short-term visitors. It's worth considering that a higher proportion of permanent residents might lead to different dynamics compared to a campground primarily catering to overnight or weekend stays.
A significant downside reported by a guest was the noise level at night. Complaints included karaoke and individuals driving golf carts loudly at midnight. This suggests that the evenings might not always be as peaceful as the daytime atmosphere. Additionally, the same reviewer mentioned loud conversations and bad language emanating from the permanent campsites during the day, which could be a concern for those seeking a tranquil and quiet retreat.
Connectivity appears to be another area where Whitetail Bluff Campground falls short. The reviews explicitly state that there is no free WIFI available, and cellular signal in the area is reported to be poor. This lack of connectivity could be a drawback for campers who need to stay connected for work or personal reasons, or even for those who rely on their phones for navigation and information.
Finally, the cost of camping at Whitetail Bluff Campground was mentioned, with one reviewer stating a price of $147 for two nights, which they considered "not cheap." This suggests that the campground might be positioned at a higher price point compared to other local options. Potential campers should factor this into their decision-making process and weigh the cost against the offered amenities and the reported drawbacks.
Considering all the available feedback, Whitetail Bluff Campground offers a mix of appealing features, such as clean facilities, top-notch RV hookups, a unique pool with an obstacle course, and a convenient on-site restaurant. The friendly and helpful hosts also contribute positively to the overall experience. However, prospective visitors should be prepared for potential challenges related to the access road, internal campground layout, nighttime noise, limited connectivity, and potentially higher pricing.
For local users browsing the 'camping near me' category, Whitetail Bluff Campground presents an option with a distinct set of characteristics. If you value clean amenities, are traveling in an RV and appreciate good hookups, or are looking for a campground with a pool and on-site dining, this could be a contender. The unique obstacle course in the pond adds an element of novelty that might be particularly attractive to families with children or those seeking active fun.
However, if a quiet and peaceful nighttime environment is a top priority, or if reliable internet and cellular service are essential, you might want to inquire further about the noise levels and connectivity during your intended stay. The reported difficulty in accessing the campground and navigating within it are also practical considerations, especially for first-time visitors or those with larger vehicles. The cost factor should also be weighed against your budget and the value you place on the offered amenities versus the potential drawbacks.
In conclusion, Whitetail Bluff Campground in Cassville, Wisconsin, offers a local camping option with a range of amenities, including excellent RV facilities, a swimming pool with an obstacle course, and an on-site restaurant. While praised for its cleanliness and friendly hosts, potential campers should be aware of reported issues with road access, internal layout, nighttime noise, limited connectivity, and potentially higher pricing. By carefully considering these factors and perhaps contacting the campground directly for more information, local users can make an informed decision about whether Whitetail Bluff Campground aligns with their preferences for a 'camping near me' experience.

Whitetail Bluff Campground Reviews
Clean, quiet, and peaceful. Hookups for RV were top notch. Hosts were fun, friendly and helpful. Great campground.
Apr 25, 2025 · Dan ReidWe stayed in our RV that’s why room is 5 stars. Location is a little hard to drive to, small tortuous road. Road inside campground is a little confusing and not well designed. They were short staffed when we arrived, the lady who checked us in, didn’t quite know how but she’s new to the job. Seem to have more permanent sites than travelers like us. Has restaurant which food was decent. Swimming pool was clean and has obstacle course in a pond with blue color dyed water.Downside was it’s loud at night, karaoke and drunk people driving golf cart at midnight. Those permanent campsite seems to be very comfortable as they were at home, talking loudly with bad language during the day. No free WIFI and cellular signal is not good. The price is not cheap $147 for 2 nights
Sep 08, 2024 · Piraon SutthiwanWe have been at Whitetail Bluff as a permanent for 5 years. We have new owners, Brad and Andrea, and they have done so much upgrading and made it into a great resort. We have a pool, pickel ball court, pond and playground for the kids. A pavilion that we have live bands and karaoke. We have a fantastic clubhouse with awesome food and drinks. Our manager, Lyndsay, is the best and she takes care of all the problems at the campground when owners aren’t there. Our maintenance staff keeps the campground well maintained. We also have a great cook and bartenders to take care of our every need. This place has something for everyone and will not disappoint.
Jul 02, 2024 · Carol HelbingWhitetail Bluff is a beautiful gem located in the bluffs of Cassville. We started coming a few times a year and fell in love. We ended up becoming permanent campers here. Our children are young and they have the perfect amount of amenities to keep them entertained and engaged outdoors. Our house is committed to playing outdoors and not having electronics often so Whitetail is always a huge part in keeping us busy. The campground is clean and well managed. Communication with the owners is always easy and great. The restaurant is delicious and offers us a break when we don't feel like cooking. We absolutely love our second home away from home at Whitetail. The Neyens Family
Jul 02, 2024 · D NWhat kind of trip are you looking to have? Whatever it is, look no further than Whitetail Bluff. Whether you’re a couple looking for a getaway or a family with children, this place has it all. You’ll find plenty for the kids to do: jumping pillow, playground, activities, plus a (very clean) swimming pond, a pool, hiking trails (with an awesome view), golf carts available for rent, theme days, events, and a great bar on site if that’s your thing. The amenities speak for themselves but what hides beneath is a campground full of genuine, welcoming, and fun-loving people. The owners, manager, and staff are awesome people who take great care of every guest. Give Whitetail Bluff a try. If you stick around, you’ll become a part of the big family in no time.
