The environment of Wilderness Campground seems to be designed to offer a blend of natural beauty and well-maintained amenities. While specific details about the landscape (e.g., wooded areas, open fields, proximity to lakes or rivers) are not extensively described, the mention of a "pond" suggests the presence of a water feature within the campground, adding to the scenic appeal and providing an additional recreational opportunity. The positive feedback about the campground being "very family and pet friendly" implies a welcoming and accommodating atmosphere for both children and animals, suggesting open spaces for play and pet exercise, as well as potentially designated areas for these activities.
In terms of services, Wilderness Campground appears to prioritize the comfort and convenience of its guests. This is a significant factor for many campers and indicates a well-maintained campground. The staff is repeatedly praised for being "very friendly and helpful," readily assisting guests and answering questions. The availability of "water activities" is mentioned, although one reviewer noted that these were not accessible during their late April stay due to the cold weather, suggesting that these activities are seasonal and likely available during the warmer months. The features of Wilderness Campground are geared towards providing a diverse and enjoyable experience for campers of all ages. The "so much to do" aspect, even when water activities were unavailable, suggests a wide range of recreational options within the campground. The "pond" is a notable feature, particularly enjoyed by children ("The kids love the pond"), suggesting it might be used for fishing, paddle boating, or simply enjoying the water. The "very big" campsites, as noted by one reviewer, are a significant advantage, offering ample space for campers to set up their tents or RVs comfortably and enjoy their outdoor living area. The ability to accommodate a "5th wheel" suggests that the campground offers sites suitable for larger RVs.
The positive experiences shared by visitors underscore the appeal of Wilderness Campground. The friendly and helpful staff contributes significantly to a welcoming atmosphere. Wilderness Campground Reviews
We really enjoyed our first stay. Everyone working there was very friendly and helpful answering our questions. The campground had so much to do, though staying in late April, it was too cold for the water activities. We enjoyed the Saturday planned activities and overall found it very family and pet friendly.
Apr 28, 2025 · Carrie SewellOne of my favorite campgrounds. Very clean bathrooms, the sites we were in are very big. All the staff is helpful and kind. Pool was nice and warm. The kids love the pond. We will return. Stayed here in August in a 5th wheel.
Aug 12, 2024 · Terry BuslaffA family owned business since 1969 and it shows! The attention to detail and the friendly staff that you meet throughout the campground make you feel welcome during your stay. Our family spent a weekend at the Wilderness for our sons 10th Birthday party. From our 4 year old to my 85 year old grandpa, everyone had a great time. We can't thank this family enough for the memories created, it is a truly special place!
Jul 29, 2024 · Michael KempleyThis was our first time at Wilderness Campground and we were pleasantly surprised! Our site had a beautiful view. The bathrooms were so clean and the showers were great! The kids and adults had a blast on the water course. This is a very family friendly place- quiet times are adhered to. They recycle! They have daily activities. It is large enough to get a great walk in - with your dog too. The only downside which should have minimal impact while camping is the weak WiFi. Even when connected to their WiFi- it was difficult to get a text or call out. Keep in mind if you are trying to connect with members of your party. Many seasonal sites at this campground but we were never made to feel like outcasts- like we have at other campgrounds. Everyone was very friendly!
Jul 23, 2024 · Mcw WigginsThis was our first time coming here for family camping. At first we thought the site was a little far from the rest of the fun stuff and pool and water park but it turned out that where we were it was perfect for us with our kids. Close to the s'mores pond and there's things to do where ever you are so we enjoy it. Kids doesn't want to leave and wife was happy. Thank you for the great service and friendly staff. It's always nice to have good and friendly staff to make everyone feel relax. We love that we don't have to bring money or wallet everywhere we go and just charge it to the site and pay later. Gives us more time to play and leas time to worry about our personal stuff. Thank you and we sure will be back next year again.
