Indian Trail Campground Introduce
Looking for "camping near me" in the New London, Ohio area? Indian Trail Campground, located at 1400 US-250, presents a local option with mixed reviews regarding noise levels, but positive feedback about the staff and reasonable nightly rates. If you're considering this campground for your next local camping adventure, it's important to weigh these different perspectives. Let's explore the environment, services, and features of Indian Trail Campground based on recent customer experiences.
The Environment: Potentially Noisy with Small Sites
One of the most significant environmental aspects highlighted in a recent review is the high noise level experienced at Indian Trail Campground. One camper described it feeling like "camping at a concert venue" at 10:30 pm, with loud music coming from multiple campsites occupied by what they described as "loud intoxicated adults." This noise reportedly continued until close to 2 am, with the 11 pm quiet hour not being enforced. This is a crucial environmental factor for local users seeking a peaceful "camping near me" experience. If you prioritize quiet evenings during your camping trips, this feedback suggests that Indian Trail Campground might not consistently provide that atmosphere.
Additionally, the same reviewer noted that the campsites are "very small," mentioning that a neighbor's fire ring was only five feet from the side of their camper. This proximity could impact privacy and the overall feeling of being in nature. On a more positive note, another reviewer found their site to be "pretty level and nice and quiet," indicating that experiences might vary depending on the location within the campground and potentially the time of visit. The presence of "lots of seasonal campers" suggests a community feel, which can be positive for some but might also contribute to established social dynamics that could influence noise levels.
The mixed feedback regarding noise suggests that the environment at Indian Trail Campground can be unpredictable. While some may find a lively atmosphere, others seeking tranquility might be disappointed.
Services and Amenities: Friendly Staff and Reasonable Rates
One consistent positive mentioned in the reviews is the friendliness and accommodation of the staff. One reviewer who left early due to noise still acknowledged that the staff was "very friendly" and even offered to move them to a different site. Another reviewer with an "unpredictable travel schedule" also praised the staff for being "very friendly and accommodating." This positive feedback about the staff suggests that campers can expect helpful and welcoming service during their stay, which is a significant aspect of the overall camping experience for those looking for "camping near me."
Furthermore, one reviewer mentioned that the "nightly rates were very reasonable," which could be an attractive feature for local users looking for an affordable "camping near me" option. While specific amenities aren't detailed in the provided reviews (such as restrooms, showers, or recreational facilities), the reasonable rates combined with friendly staff might make it a worthwhile consideration for budget-conscious campers.
The fact that there are "plenty of spots for nightly guests" alongside the seasonal campers indicates that the campground caters to both short-term visitors and those who stay longer.
Features: Seasonal Community, Potential for Noise, and Friendly Service
A notable feature of Indian Trail Campground is the presence of a large number of seasonal campers, which can foster a strong sense of community. For some local users, this might be appealing, offering opportunities to meet and interact with regular visitors. However, as suggested by one review, this established community might also contribute to noise levels that are not always in line with campground quiet hours.
The potential for high noise levels, particularly late at night, is another key feature that prospective campers should be aware of. While one reviewer experienced a quiet site, another's experience suggests this might not be the norm across the campground, especially on weekends or during peak seasons. The friendly and accommodating staff is a significant positive feature, as they seem willing to assist campers and address concerns.
The reasonable nightly rates also stand out as a potentially attractive feature for those seeking an affordable "camping near me" option in the New London, OH area.
Promotional Information: Consider Your Preferences for Noise Levels
If you're a local resident in the New London, OH area looking for "camping near me," Indian Trail Campground offers the benefits of friendly staff and reasonable nightly rates. There are also plenty of sites available for nightly guests alongside a community of seasonal campers. However, it's important to be aware of the potential for significant noise, especially in the evenings, as reported by one recent visitor. If you are sensitive to noise and prefer a quieter camping experience, you might want to inquire about quieter areas of the campground or consider this potential drawback.
For those who don't mind a more lively atmosphere or who might be visiting during a less crowded time, the friendly staff and reasonable prices could make Indian Trail Campground a viable option. Indian Trail Campground Reviews
Unfortunately we ended up only staying one night at this campground. We left early due to the noise level and all around vibe at this campground. At 10:30pm it felt like we were camping at a concert venue. Campers next to us, behind us and in front of us all had extremely loud music, and 8+ loud intoxicated adults at each site. Golf carts driving by at all hours (by the same drunken adults.) The 11pm quit hour was not at all enforced and this continued until close to 2am. The site are also very small. The neighbors fire ring was only 5 feet from the side of our camper. Should have taken the multiple "drunk campers matter" flags as a sign and never even set up but I wanted to give it a try.The positive is that the staff was very friendly and did offer to move us, but from how much noise I heard overnight, I didnt feel like moving down 5 sites really would have decreased the noise that much.
Jul 29, 2024 · Autumn HuppLots of seasonal campers, but also plenty of spots for nightly guests. The staff was very friendly and accommodating even given my unpredictable travel schedule. My site was pretty level and nice and quiet. Nightly rates were very reasonable.
Jun 20, 2024 · ChuckThe campground itself was nice and the bathhouse was very clean. The staff while new and inexperienced were very nice. My biggest complaint here is that curfew is not enforced. At our most recent stay, there was a group blaring music until 12-1 o'clock in the morning, so we were up a good majority of the night. If looking into the cabins, be aware that they are very small. We rented the 8 person cabin which was a tiny room. There was 1 twin bed with three bunkbeds and minimal standing room. This was talked up to be a little bigger than it was.
Jun 19, 2023 · Taylor NollOur family was looking for a last minute place to stay. They accommodated us with a private area to ourselves. We only were able to stay one night and left late in the afternoon the next day.The updated restrooms/showers were perfect and adorable. The shower pressure was amazing and the water was nice and hot. They also had a laundry room with two washers and dryers if needed. We took advantage of getting our Laundry done there. It was 1.50 in quarters to run the washer and 1.00 to run the dryer. The campground was so quiet, we felt like we were the loud ones with ourtwo children . Our son loved the extra large sandbox filled with all the toys. There were small walking path.We did not get to enjoy the pool or take the boats out on the lake, during our short stay.We highly recommend this campsite.
