Claremar Twin Lakes Camping Resort Introduce
For local residents in the New London, Ohio area searching for "camping near me," Claremar Twin Lakes Camping Resort, located at 47675 New London Eastern Rd, New London, OH 44851, USA, presents itself as an option with some appealing features but also significant drawbacks highlighted by recent customer experiences. As a potential choice within the "camping near me" category, it's crucial for local users to be aware of both the positive aspects, such as the environment and activities, as well as the reported issues concerning management practices, accommodation quality, and cleanliness.
The environment of Claremar Twin Lakes Camping Resort appears to be a key positive aspect, with one reviewer explicitly mentioning a "beautiful" lake view from their rented retro camper. The presence of lakes suggests potential for scenic walks, water-related activities (though not detailed), and a generally picturesque setting. The description of the campground as "beautiful" overall further indicates an attractive natural environment that might appeal to local users seeking a visually pleasing "camping near me" destination. However, this positive aspect is somewhat overshadowed by concerns regarding the upkeep of certain areas, specifically the beach.
In terms of services and features, Claremar Twin Lakes Camping Resort seems to offer a range of activities, as one reviewer appreciated the "activities they had available for the weekend." This suggests that the campground aims to provide entertainment and engagement for its guests, which can be a significant draw for families and those looking for more than just a campsite. Additionally, the presence of a pool, described as a "clean safe place for the kids," is a notable amenity, especially for families with young children seeking "camping near me" options with dedicated recreational facilities. The availability of retro camper rentals with lake views also presents a unique accommodation option for those looking for a nostalgic and scenic stay. However, the positive aspects of activities and the pool are contrasted by negative feedback regarding other services and accommodations.
Several significant features of Claremar Twin Lakes Camping Resort have received negative feedback from reviewers. One major concern revolves around the corporate operation of the campground, with a reviewer expressing dissatisfaction over deposit return policies and perceived prioritization of profit over customer satisfaction. This is a crucial point for local users to consider, as it may impact their overall experience and interactions with the management. Another significant issue raised is the quality of accommodations, with a specific mention of a "camper bed was so thin it was painful to sleep on," indicating potential discomfort for some guests. Furthermore, a serious health and safety concern was raised regarding the beach, which was described as being "full of so much animal feces it was repulsive," leading the reviewer to advise against it for those with small children. This is a critical factor for local families considering this "camping near me" option. The increase in prices, which one reviewer stated made it "impossible for a lot of families to stay," is also a point of concern regarding affordability and accessibility for local users.
Currently, there is no positive promotional information available for Claremar Twin Lakes Camping Resort based on the provided reviews. The feedback primarily focuses on negative experiences related to management policies, accommodation comfort, and the cleanliness of certain facilities. The lack of any positive promotions or special offers in the reviews, coupled with the concerns raised, suggests that local users should approach this "camping near me" option with caution and be well-informed about potential drawbacks before making a booking. The negative sentiments expressed by reviewers might even serve as a deterrent for some local campers.
In conclusion, while Claremar Twin Lakes Camping Resort in New London, OH, may offer a beautiful lake environment, a clean pool, and organized activities, local users searching for "camping near me" should be aware of the significant negative feedback regarding its corporate management, uncomfortable accommodations, and severely unclean beach conditions. The reported difficulties with deposit returns and price increases further add to the concerns. Before considering a stay at Claremar Twin Lakes Camping Resort, local residents are strongly advised to seek more recent reviews and potentially contact the campground directly to inquire about the current state of the facilities, management policies, and any steps taken to address the issues raised by previous guests. While the lake views and some amenities might be appealing, the reported problems present considerable drawbacks that potential local campers should carefully weigh against their priorities for a positive and healthy outdoor experience. Thorough research and due diligence are recommended before choosing this as your next "camping near me" destination.

Claremar Twin Lakes Camping Resort Reviews
It's operated by corporation. Would not honor deposit returns made by campers. Was told money would be returned for gate passes but still have yet to receive. Took the fun out of camping. Increase made it impossible for alot of families to stay. Corporations should never own a campground, they don't care about the people and families. It's all about making a buck.
Jan 12, 2025 · Tammy RichardsWe stayed in a retro camper with a lake view. The lake view was beautiful. However, the camper bed was so thin it was painful to sleep on. Also, our entire camper started smelling like sewage on the second day. The beach was full of so much animal feces it was repulsive. I would not recommend if you have small children. The pool was a clean safe place for the kids. We did appreciate the activities they had available for the weekend. Overall, it is a beautiful camp ground with fun activities, but beach is a huge health safety concern.
Sep 07, 2024 · Kursten MartinNo showers for 1200 plus on weekends..not even hot water to wash hands at the only new shower house. / 8 second warm water button In. 3 shower 's...no security at nite. Gates close ot 9 every day..key cards are obsolete...guests parked wherever was open. Kids driving golf carts after dark. Other than that the lakes are great....staff pleasant and courteous...
Nov 05, 2024 · Steve BobbinWe had great time, it was a fun campground! Great site right on the lake. Kids enjoyed the inflatables and pool. Wish we had more time to take advantage of more of the amenities offered. Cotton candy lady of Ohio was there- that was a nice added surprise bonus too.If life vests would have been provided for the lake activities I would have given 5 stars. $10 per life jacket is a little steep, when the inflatables are advertised as included. So if you are planning a trip, bring them- adults too! They did ask everyone to wear them.
Aug 03, 2024 · lisa mccartinAwesome campground. Kids always have a good time there. They are laid back and very tentative if you have any questions or concerns. Love the beach area. The kids have so much fun!!They keep it a very clean campground.Hoping in the future to buy property to have a summer home. We really LOVE going there. We haven’t been to other campgrounds but few other ppl that has came with us said it’s the best one they have gone to and we will be returning again. We went twice this year and I never want to leave.
