Wylie Park Campground Introduce
Looking for an exciting and family-friendly camping experience in your local area? Consider Wylie Park Campground, situated at 2310 24th Ave NW, Aberdeen, SD 57401, USA. As a prominent option under the 'camping near me' category, Wylie Park Campground offers a diverse range of accommodation options and recreational activities, making it an ideal destination for various types of campers and families seeking a memorable getaway.
The environment of Wylie Park Campground appears to be well-maintained and caters to a variety of outdoor preferences. According to visitor reviews, the North Campground features paved roads and sites, making it easily navigable even for larger vehicles such as a 45’ motorcoach. The presence of mature trees and ample grass between sites suggests a pleasant and somewhat shaded camping environment, offering a degree of privacy and a comfortable outdoor living space. The grounds are described as "clean, pristine and manicured," indicating a commitment to maintaining an attractive and enjoyable setting for guests.
In terms of services, Wylie Park Campground offers full hookups (FHUs) at some of its sites, as confirmed by a visitor who stayed at both Site 112 and a pull-thru site. This is a significant convenience for RV campers, providing access to water, electricity, and sewer connections directly at their campsite. The availability of pull-thru sites is also beneficial for larger RVs, simplifying the parking and departure process. Furthermore, the campground provides additional parking spaces around the perimeter of the North Campground, which is convenient for visitors who may have extra vehicles or are towing. For those not traveling with RVs, Wylie Park Campground also offers tent sites and cabin rentals, providing a broader range of accommodation options to suit different needs and preferences.
One of the standout features of Wylie Park Campground is its integration with a "Beautiful fun family Park" that includes a beach and the renowned Storybook Land theme park. This free-admission theme park caters to children of all ages and offers rides (with tickets available for purchase at $3 each) and various food options. The presence of Storybook Land adds a unique and significant recreational element to the campground, making it particularly appealing to families with young children. Additionally, the park features walking paths, providing opportunities for leisurely strolls and enjoying the outdoor scenery. The combination of camping facilities with these family-oriented attractions creates a comprehensive destination for a fun-filled vacation.
Based on customer feedback, the office staff at Wylie Park Campground is described as "great," "friendly," and "super helpful." Positive interactions with campground staff can significantly enhance the overall camping experience, providing assistance with check-in, site information, and addressing any concerns that may arise. This positive feedback suggests a welcoming and supportive atmosphere at the campground.
However, it's important to acknowledge some concerns raised in the reviews. One long-term visitor reported several maintenance issues during their recent stay, including a limited number of working showers in the women's bathroom, instances where bathrooms were not cleaned in the morning, and the need to request soap dispenser refills. Additionally, they mentioned that the heat in their cabin had been malfunctioning for several years, with a space heater provided as a temporary solution. Another issue highlighted was an overflowing dumpster at the checkout area. While these issues were noted by one visitor, and they expressed hope for improvement by their next reservation, they indicate areas where the campground may need to focus on maintenance and service consistency.
Despite these concerns, another visitor had a positive first experience at Wylie Park Campground, praising the easy navigation for a large motorcoach, the full hookups and paved sites, the mature trees and grassy areas, and the overall cleanliness and manicured grounds. This contrasting feedback suggests that while some areas may need attention, many aspects of the campground are well-received by visitors.

Wylie Park Campground Reviews
We've been camping in cabins for 18 years and have never had a problem. This year was very different only 1 working shower in womens bathroom. 1 morning the bathrooms werent cleaned.Had to ask to have soap despenser filled a couple of times. Heat in our cabin didn't work actually it didn't work 3 years ago but was brought a space heater. The dumpster @ check out was so full it was overflowing if someone would of opened it a pushed down the garbage it would have been able to hold more. We have reservations for Labor day I hope things are better.
May 29, 2024 · Tammy McGregorOur first visit to South Dakota and Wylie Park Campground. We had no issues driving thru the park to the North Campground with our 45’ Motorcoach. We had Site 112 first, then extended our stay. Our site was already booked so moved to a Pull Thru. Both sites had FHUs, paved roads and sites. Mature trees and lots of grass between sites. $37/nightThere are additional parking spaces all around the perimeter of the North Campground if you have visitors and park a tow. Tent sites and cabin rentals too.Beautiful fun family Park with a beach, Storybook Land theme park for kids young and old. Free admission. Pay for rides/food. Rides were $3 a ticket. Walking paths. Fun for all!Office staff was great! Friendly and super helpful!Clean, pristine and manicured grounds. Will stay again! Thank You!
Jun 06, 2024 · Buffy ChixWe stayed in the North campground, which is the only one viable for Big Rigs. While they could stand to trim some trees, access was decent for this type of park. The asphalt surface appeared hard, but be sure to use your jack pads. Our 50 amp breaker did trip several times when we exceeded 40 amps of usage; hopefully the park will address power issues. The park itself is fabulous, very family friendly to keep you busy for several days. Because of the type of park this is, we recommended booking several days - there is so much to do. With the abundance of activities, be sure to check the times of operation in advance for the activities in which you are interested, as different ones have different hours. We found the employees quiet friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. Don’t use this as just an overnight stop. At the time of our visit, they were watering the grass and there was an abundance of mosquitoes. We found the park to be quiet and restful; we only wish we would have stopped here sooner.
Aug 04, 2022 · Big Rig RVer ReviewsVery well kept and nice campground! Especially with a family it is perfect with all the parks and Storybook Land right there! Thunder road is also right close by with go-karts, mini golf and bumper boats. The lodge has food, snacks, drinks, ice and things you may have forgotten available. Most spots especially on the south area have plenty of shade. Campers, tents and cabins all available.Definitely recommend for a longer camping trip or even a weekend campout!
May 06, 2023 · Seth DuncanIt's a small clean park... There is plenty to do and see with the family during the day. Some guy with an acoustic guitar came out a little late. I have it on good word that he was local, not even camping but visiting a camper. I'm glad he was good and kept it short. It almost seemed like he was booked which I'm not sure if I would have liked or not considering the hour. I was going to mark it a four star spot on account of the musical intrusion but the bathrooms were clean too.
