Campground at Tacoma Park Place Introduce
For local users and those visiting the Columbia, South Dakota area, the Campground at Tacoma Park Place, located at 39849 127th St, Columbia, SD 57433, USA, presents a unique option within the 'camping near me' category. Based on the available customer reviews, this location offers more than just a typical campground experience, providing specific amenities tailored to hunters and a peaceful environment appreciated by both short-term and longer-term residents. The welcoming nature of the owners also stands out as a significant positive aspect.
The environment of Tacoma Park Place is described as "peaceful" with "awesome" sunrises and sunsets, particularly enjoyed from a deck. This suggests a serene and scenic setting where one can appreciate the natural beauty of the South Dakota landscape. The former resident who lived there for an extended period highlighted the joy of waking up to this tranquility, indicating a calm and relaxing atmosphere. While the immediate surroundings of the campground are not detailed in terms of specific natural features like forests or lakes, the emphasis on peace and scenic views suggests an open and pleasant rural environment. The mention of enjoying coffee on the deck in the mornings further paints a picture of a quiet and comfortable outdoor living space.
In terms of services, the reviews highlight several key offerings. For hunters, Tacoma Park Place provides a "very nice set up for cleaning birds with plenty of storage," which is a significant and valuable amenity for those visiting the area for hunting expeditions. Additionally, they offer a "really nice communal room in the garage to hang out after," suggesting a social space where guests can relax, share stories, and perhaps access basic facilities. The availability of this communal room indicates a thoughtful approach to guest comfort beyond just the individual accommodation. For those staying longer, the experience of the former resident suggests the possibility of more permanent or semi-permanent living arrangements ("in my own place"), implying that the services might cater to a range of stay durations. While specific camping amenities like hookups, restroom facilities, or laundry are not explicitly mentioned for the campground area, the positive feedback about the overall experience suggests that essential needs are likely met.
The features of Tacoma Park Place appear to be diverse, catering to different needs. For hunters, the dedicated bird cleaning station with ample storage is a standout feature, making it a highly recommended place for those pursuing game in the region. The communal hangout room offers a social aspect and a space to unwind. The positive experience of the long-term resident, including the enjoyment of the peaceful environment and scenic views from a personal deck, suggests that the accommodations, whatever their form (possibly cabins or designated RV spots with individual setups), offer a degree of comfort and privacy. The welcoming and helpful nature of the owners is also a significant feature, contributing to a positive and supportive atmosphere for all guests. The cost is described as "good," indicating affordability, especially when considering the amenities offered to hunters.
The positive testimonials from both a short-term hunting guest and a long-term resident underscore the appeal of Tacoma Park Place. The hunter specifically recommends it due to the cost, the communal space, and the excellent bird cleaning facilities, highlighting its suitability for hunting trips in the area. The former resident's fond memories of the peaceful mornings, beautiful sunrises and sunsets, and the coziness of the place, along with high praise for the owners, suggest a welcoming and comfortable environment for an extended stay. The fact that the resident only moved due to needing to be closer to town emphasizes that their departure was based on logistical reasons rather than dissatisfaction with Tacoma Park Place itself.
While the reviews provide valuable insights into the atmosphere and specific amenities like the bird cleaning station and communal room, they do lack detailed information about the standard campground facilities one might expect, such as the types of campsites available (tent, RV), hookup availability, restroom and shower facilities, and other general campground services. To get a comprehensive understanding of these aspects, it would be advisable to contact the owners directly using the provided phone numbers: (303) 748-6346 or +1 303-748-6346.
Promotional information is not explicitly mentioned in the user reviews. However, the hunter's comment about the "good cost" suggests that the pricing is competitive and reasonable for the services offered, particularly to hunters. To inquire about specific rates for camping or longer stays, as well as any potential seasonal discounts or packages, contacting the owners directly would be the best approach. They might have special offers for hunters during specific seasons or for extended stays, given the positive experience of the long-term resident.
In conclusion, the Campground at Tacoma Park Place in Columbia, South Dakota, offers a unique and welcoming experience for those seeking 'camping near me.' It stands out for its peaceful environment, beautiful scenery, and particularly for its excellent amenities catering to hunters, including a dedicated bird cleaning station and a communal hangout room. The positive feedback from both short-term and a long-term guest, along with the praised hospitality of the owners, suggests a comfortable and supportive stay. While detailed information about standard campground facilities is limited in the reviews, the overall impression is highly positive. For local users and visitors, especially hunters, Tacoma Park Place appears to be a highly recommended option. To obtain specific details about camping facilities, rates, and any current promotions, direct contact with the owners is encouraged.

Campground at Tacoma Park Place Reviews
Great place to stay if you are hunting in the area. Good on cost and they offered a really nice communal room in the garage to hang out after. Tacoma Park Place also had a very nice set up for cleaning birds with plenty of storage. Would recommend to any hunter in the area.
Jan 21, 2025 · Tom CoreyI lived at Tacoma Park Place for about a year and a half, with the new owners (in my own place) but 6 yrs total, absolutely loved waking up and sitting on deck with my coffee in the mornings, it was so peaceful!! Loved the coziness!! Sun sets and sun rises were awesome to see as well!! The owners were and still are wonderful people!! I only moved because I needed to be closer to town due to my son’s schedule. I would highly recommend!!!
Jun 28, 2022 · Nichole ChapinTacoma Park is absolutely wonderful! Peaceful, serene and perfect for relaxing! Grounds are extremely well kept overlooking a lake. Perfect for a short or extended stay. Major shopping nearby 15 minutes or so. The owners are very nice and accommodating. I will be here for quite a while and am very happy to have chosen Tacoma Park Place for my stay!
Aug 10, 2022 · Sarah ShepherdGreat hosts, great place, fantastic pheasant and duck hunting. The hosts also guide for pheasants and ducks, very reasonable rates, on private property that is managed for upland game.
