Amana RV Park & Event Center Introduce
Amana RV Park & Event Center, conveniently located at 3850 C St, Amana, IA 52203, serves as a significant destination for RV enthusiasts and event organizers alike. Positioned perfectly for those searching under the "RV Parks Near Me" category, it offers a blend of extensive camping facilities and versatile event spaces, all within the historically rich Amana Colonies.
The environment of Amana RV Park & Event Center is expansive, sprawling across 80 acres of Iowa land. It is often described as an "in the field" RV park, indicating a generally open, flat landscape with a good amount of green space. While some reviewers note a lack of mature shade trees, newer plantings are visible, suggesting ongoing efforts to enhance the natural appeal. The sites are primarily gravel, and while this can lead to muddy conditions after heavy rain, the overall appearance of the park is generally well-cared for and mowed. The sheer size of the park, with over 450 campsites, allows for considerable space and the ability to accommodate large groups and rallies without feeling overly cramped, although specific site layouts can vary. The setting is relatively quiet, especially considering its capacity, offering a peaceful retreat after exploring the nearby attractions.
In terms of services and features, Amana RV Park & Event Center is well-equipped to cater to a wide range of needs for RVers. A majority of its campsites offer full hookups, including 50-amp electricity, water, and sewer connections. For those with different power requirements, 30-amp and 20/15-amp options are also available, and the park even provides complimentary adapters upon request. Each site typically includes a picnic table and a fire ring, enhancing the traditional camping experience. While some reviewers noted that utilities might be positioned far back on the sites, requiring longer hoses, the presence of these comprehensive hookups is a significant convenience.
Beyond the individual campsites, the park boasts an array of communal facilities. Clean and modern restrooms with showers are available, and these are frequently praised by visitors for their cleanliness and accessibility, including handicap accessibility. A centrally located laundromat provides convenient washing and drying facilities for campers. For essential supplies, ice, LP (propane), and firewood (often complimentary scrap wood from the Amana Furniture Shop) are available on-site. The park also features sanitary dump stations capable of servicing multiple rigs simultaneously, streamlining departure procedures. While Wi-Fi is a common expectation at RV parks, Amana RV Park & Event Center has adjusted its policy for 2024; free Wi-Fi is no longer offered at every campsite but is available at the Community Building in the center of the park. This amenity provides a dedicated space for connectivity and social gathering. The park is also pet-friendly, allowing furry companions to join in the adventure.
A major distinguishing feature of Amana RV Park is its robust Event Center. With over 20,000 square feet of versatile event space, it is designed to host a variety of gatherings, from large RV rallies (some accommodating up to 300 units) to dog shows, weddings, and festivals. This dual functionality as both an RV park and an event venue makes it a unique offering in the region, attracting diverse groups and creating a vibrant atmosphere during scheduled events. The park's operational season typically runs from April 1st to November 1st, accommodating the peak travel and event periods.
Promotional efforts for Amana RV Park & Event Center consistently highlight its prime location in the heart of Iowa's Historic Amana Colonies. This National Historic Landmark draws over a million visitors annually, offering an "Old World charm and hospitality." RVers staying at the park enjoy easy access to the seven historic villages, which feature unique shops, museums, family-style dining (including authentic German cuisine), wineries, and various festivals throughout the year. Popular attractions like the Amana Heritage Museum, Amana Meat Shop & Smokehouse, and local craft shops are just a short walk or bike ride away. The park is marketed as a perfect base for exploring the rich cultural heritage and scenic landscapes of the area, suitable for both overnight stays and longer visits, including rallies and long-term residency. The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff are frequently emphasized in promotional content and reviews, contributing to a welcoming experience.
Customer reviews offer valuable insights into the visitor experience. One review points out a concern: "Most sites are stacked on top of each other sewer discharge from one camper to another almost right outside your door hookups very inconvenient... For the money you don't get any Wi-Fi like most RV parks.... If you want to stay in a nice park I would not recommend this one." This feedback highlights potential issues with site spacing and utility placement, as well as the previous lack of Wi-Fi (which has since been addressed with a new policy). However, another review offers a contrasting, largely positive perspective: "Typical 'in the field' RV park. However, very nice people, well cared for, clean laundry and event center. Ice, LP and wood on-site with dump stations and full hook ups." This review corroborates the cleanliness of facilities and the availability of essential services, while acknowledging the "field" nature of the park. Other positive comments frequently mention the friendly staff, spacious and level gravel pads, abundant grassy areas for pets, and the convenience of being close to the Amana Colonies. The park has even been rated as a #1 RV Park in Iowa by Reader's Digest, further validating its appeal. The diversity in reviews suggests that individual experiences may vary based on personal preferences regarding park layout and specific site assignments, but the overall consensus leans towards a well-maintained park with excellent staff and a great location.

Apr 15, 2025 · James InghamI have been coming to the dog shows held at the park for 21 years. The facilities are well maintained and the grounds always look great. The managers and staff exceed in their efforts for outstanding customer service. If there is an issue, once brought to their attention, it is promptly dealt with. We are holding a National Beagle Show there in 2025 and Jessica and Jamie have been great in our planning sessions. The Beagle Community appreciates all that the staff does to make our stay pleasurable. Thank you to all the staff for a job well done.
Sep 10, 2024 · Floss BillgerThis was the perfect spot to be in this week. Very close to all the colonies and loved the pull through spots. The staff actually brought you to your spot and explained everything. The laundry room was awesome. Very clean. Glad we did laundry there because the next place we went to didn’t have any laundry facilities. Forgot to take pictures but it looks like there are plenty online. Enjoy. We did 😊
Aug 02, 2024 · Justin MorrisWe stayed here over the weekend for a NADD regional dock diving competition event for our dog! The nightly rate was very affordable. I loved that they escorted us to our site and helped back us in to the spot. The campground is 5 minutes away from downtown Amana and they have brochures for all the things to see and do while you are visiting! We will definitely stay here again!
