Bundick Lake is a significant feature of the local environment, known for its fishing opportunities and recreational potential. Choosing an RV park in this area can appeal to those who enjoy lake activities and the natural beauty of western Louisiana. Bundick Lake Retreat and RV's name directly references this proximity, suggesting that the lake and its associated environment are key aspects of the retreat experience. The area around DeRidder is characterized by forests and waterways, potentially offering a scenic and outdoorsy setting for visitors.
Customer reviews for Bundick Lake Retreat and RV present a starkly divided picture of the facilities and overall experience. One reviewer expresses overwhelmingly positive feedback, highlighting several key aspects. They praise the lake for its "great fish," suggesting excellent fishing opportunities for anglers. The pool is mentioned as being in "good condition," even when closed, implying it's a well-maintained amenity. The campground itself is described as "very nice and neat," indicating a clean and organized environment. Additionally, the reviewer found the "hotel rooms" (potentially cabins or other lodging options) to be better than pictured and pleasant-smelling. Finally, they commend the people at the retreat as "the absolute best," strongly recommending the location and thanking them for maintaining it in great condition despite hurricanes.
However, another review offers a completely contrasting experience, expressing significant disappointment. This reviewer states that the "Park is nothing like in the pictures," suggesting a potential discrepancy between marketing materials and the actual condition of the facilities. Specific issues raised include a pool that was "green as grass," indicating poor maintenance and likely unusable conditions. The "game room" is described as being in "complete destruction," with pool tables "completely falling apart." The putt-putt course is also heavily criticized, with the "green felt completely ripped off." Furthermore, this reviewer notes that some campsites are so close together that awnings would touch neighboring campers, implying a lack of spaciousness and privacy. The reviewer mentions that a staff member indicated the owner was overseas and had not addressed the maintenance issues, which were described as "way obvious." This negative experience led the reviewer and two other couples to conclude it was a "1 and done" location, strongly advising others to "Save your money and go somewhere else" and stating they would give negative stars if possible.
The dramatic difference between these two reviews makes it essential for potential visitors to approach Bundick Lake Retreat and RV with caution and to seek the most current and comprehensive information. The positive review suggests a well-maintained facility with good amenities and friendly staff, while the negative review paints a picture of significant disrepair and poor maintenance. It is possible that the conditions have changed over time, or that the experiences varied greatly depending on the timing of the visits or the specific areas of the retreat utilized.
For individuals searching for "RV parks near me" and considering Bundick Lake Retreat and RV, the potential for great fishing in Bundick Lake could be a major draw, as highlighted in the positive review. If amenities like a well-maintained pool and comfortable lodging options are also important, the positive feedback on these aspects is encouraging. However, the serious concerns raised about the condition of the pool, game room, putt-putt course, and the proximity of campsites in the negative review cannot be ignored.
To gain a clearer understanding of the current state of Bundick Lake Retreat and RV, it is crucial to contact them directly at (337) 454-5153 or +1 337-454-5153. Inquire specifically about the current condition of the pool, game room, and other recreational facilities. Ask about the layout of the RV sites and whether there are options for more space and privacy. It would also be prudent to inquire about recent maintenance or renovations that might have addressed the issues raised in the negative review. Additionally, asking about the management's presence and responsiveness could provide insight into the level of care and upkeep at the retreat.
Prospective visitors might also consider looking for more recent reviews from other sources to get a broader perspective on the current conditions. Comparing feedback from multiple recent visitors could help determine if the issues raised in the negative review are ongoing or if improvements have been made. Given the conflicting information, relying on a single review, whether positive or negative, may not provide an accurate representation of the current experience at Bundick Lake Retreat and RV.
In conclusion, Bundick Lake Retreat and RV in DeRidder, LA, offers a location near the appealing Bundick Lake and has received both highly positive feedback regarding fishing, a pool, clean grounds, and friendly staff, as well as strongly negative feedback concerning poorly maintained facilities like the pool, game room, and putt-putt course, along with cramped campsites. For those searching for "RV parks near me" in this area, contacting the retreat directly to inquire about the current conditions and amenities is essential. Additionally, seeking out more recent and varied reviews will help potential visitors form a more balanced and informed decision about whether Bundick Lake Retreat and RV meets their expectations for a lakeside getaway.

Bundick Lake Retreat and RV Reviews
BEST PLACE EVER FOR MANY REASONS! First, I grew up around bundick Lake, and it makes my dreams come true with the amount of great fish that's there. Second, I love the pool with the good conditionits in, even when closed. Third, the campground is very nice and neat. Fourth, the hotel rooms are better than the picture itself and smells very good as well. And finally, the people there are the absolute best, VERY VERY RECOMMEND! Thank you, lots, for making this place and keeping it in great condition after all the hurricanes that go through louisiana!
Apr 12, 2025 · Christopher WilsonPark is nothing like in the pictures. Pool was green as grass, "game room" was complete destruction, pool tables completely falling apart and don't even try to play the putt putt course. Green felt was completely ripped off on the course. Some campsites are so close together awning will touch the camper next to you. Had we been by ourselves we would not have stayed. The guy that came around our first night said owner was in the Philippine's and hadn't fixed anything which was way obvious. Save your money and go somewhere else. This place was a 1 and done for us and the other 2 couples with us. If there were negative stars that's what I'd give.
Apr 21, 2025 · DonnaThe park definitely has potential, beautifully situated, green and shady. the description on the homepage no longer corresponds to reality. The pool is dirty, mini golf unusable, playground dangerous. Toilets are dirty. There is no staff to take care of them.Really sad
May 07, 2025 · Isa LehmannDo not come here. It is off of a broken road, deep in the back woods. The pictures they post are misleading, the Campground is very small and the cabins are nothing like the website says. The map they use online is not at all what the place really is. The cabins are all connected and tiny, like a bunch of old motel rooms attached as one. The rv spots are close, on top of one another, in the dirt and grass. No privacy whatsoever. Not recommended.
Mar 07, 2025 · lisette nightPark is in great location. Walking distance to the lake. Feels like you have the whole forest to yourself. Quiet and serene I felt relaxed the whole time. And as a person who lives and works in my RV this is what I look for. Thanks for a great stay
