Cherokee Wild RV Resort Introduce
For local RV travelers and those seeking a serene getaway in southeastern Oklahoma, Cherokee Wild RV Resort, located at 3201 NE Lincoln Rd in Idabel, presents a promising option within the category of "RV parks near me." Based on recent customer reviews, this resort offers a pleasant, clean, and quiet environment, making it an appealing choice for those looking for a relaxing stop. While the park is still developing and has some current limitations, its positive aspects, such as spacious pull-thru sites and pet-friendly amenities, make it worth considering for your next RV adventure in the region.
Location and Environment:
Cherokee Wild RV Resort is situated in Idabel, a town in McCurtain County, Oklahoma. This area is known for its natural beauty, with proximity to forests, lakes, and the foothills of the Ouachita Mountains. While the reviews don't extensively detail the immediate surroundings of the park, the mention of it being a "beautiful park" suggests an aesthetically pleasing environment. The quiet atmosphere reported by one reviewer indicates a peaceful setting, potentially away from the noise of busy highways or urban areas, allowing guests to enjoy the tranquility of nature.
One reviewer noted that there isn't too much to do in the immediate area, suggesting that Cherokee Wild RV Resort might be best suited for those seeking a relaxing and quiet place to stop, rather than a destination with numerous nearby attractions. However, for those with family in Idabel or those looking for a peaceful base to explore the wider natural beauty of southeastern Oklahoma at their own pace, the location could be ideal.
It's worth noting a concern raised about the driveway being "painfully bumpy with lots of holes" and not wide enough for cars to pass. Local users with larger RVs or trailers should be aware of this potential access issue and might want to inquire about the condition of the driveway before their visit.
Services and Amenities:
According to customer reviews, Cherokee Wild RV Resort offers pull-thru RV sites with full hookups, which typically include water, electricity, and sewer connections. This is a significant convenience for RV travelers, allowing for easy setup and comfortable living during their stay. The presence of a dog park is a notable amenity for those traveling with pets, providing a dedicated space for dogs to exercise and socialize safely.
A current limitation mentioned in the reviews is the absence of laundry or bathhouse facilities. However, one reviewer noted that the website indicates these amenities are planned for the future. Local users who require these facilities should consider this current lack and perhaps check with the park management for updates on their development.
Another point of feedback concerns communication. One reviewer mentioned not receiving a response after sending a text message as instructed for the Wi-Fi password. While this particular guest didn't need the Wi-Fi, the lack of communication could be a concern for others who rely on timely responses from park management. Local users might want to ensure they have clear communication channels established prior to their arrival.
Finally, one review mentioned the need for mowing on the site and at the driveway turn-in, as well as the absence of a light at the turn-in or the sign. These are maintenance-related issues that potential visitors might want to keep in mind, particularly regarding visibility when arriving at night.
To get the most up-to-date information on services and amenities, local users should contact Cherokee Wild RV Resort directly at (580) 786-6544 or +1 580-786-6544. Inquiring about the status of the planned laundry and bathhouse facilities, the condition of the driveway, Wi-Fi availability and communication protocols, and any other specific needs will help ensure a well-informed decision.
Features and Highlights:
One of the key features of Cherokee Wild RV Resort, based on customer feedback, is its clean and quiet environment. This is a significant draw for travelers seeking a peaceful and comfortable place to rest and relax. The availability of pull-thru sites with full hookups adds to the convenience, especially for those with larger RVs or those preferring an easier setup process.
The inclusion of a dog park is another notable highlight, catering to the needs of pet owners who often prioritize having safe and designated areas for their animals. This pet-friendly feature can make the resort a more attractive option for a significant segment of the RV traveling community.
The potential for future amenities, such as laundry and bathhouse facilities, suggests that Cherokee Wild RV Resort is still developing and aiming to enhance its offerings, which could make it an even more appealing choice for future stays.
The beauty of the park, as mentioned by one reviewer, is another positive feature, suggesting that the grounds are well-maintained and aesthetically pleasing, contributing to a pleasant overall experience.
Promotional Information:
Currently, there is no specific promotional information available for Cherokee Wild RV Resort based on the provided data. Local users interested in staying at the park should contact them directly at the given phone numbers to inquire about any special rates, discounts for local residents, or seasonal offers that might be available. New or developing RV resorts sometimes offer introductory pricing or incentives to attract visitors. Asking about any potential long-term stay discounts might also be beneficial for those planning an extended visit.
It could also be worthwhile to inquire if the park has any affiliations with local attractions or businesses that might offer discounts or packages to resort guests. Supporting local RV parks like Cherokee Wild can be a great way for local users to enjoy a nearby getaway while contributing to the regional economy.
Addressing Customer Feedback:
The provided customer reviews offer a mixed but informative perspective. The positive feedback highlights the cleanliness, quietness, and beauty of the park, as well as the convenience of pull-thru sites and the benefit of a dog park. These are significant strengths that appeal to many RV travelers.
However, the reviews also point out areas for improvement, including the bumpy and narrow driveway, the current lack of laundry and bathhouse facilities, and issues with communication regarding Wi-Fi access. The need for better grounds maintenance (mowing) and improved lighting at the entrance are also mentioned.
Local users should weigh these points when considering a stay. The positive aspects suggest a comfortable and pleasant environment, while the noted limitations and concerns about infrastructure and communication should be taken into account based on individual needs and priorities. The fact that future improvements are mentioned on the website is a positive sign that the park management is aware of some of these shortcomings and plans to address them.
Conclusion:
Cherokee Wild RV Resort in Idabel, Oklahoma, offers a potentially clean, quiet, and beautiful option for those searching for "RV parks near me." Its pull-thru sites with full hookups and a dog park are notable advantages. However, local users should be aware of the current lack of laundry and bathhouse facilities, potential driveway issues, and the reported communication challenges. By contacting Cherokee Wild RV Resort directly at (580) 786-6544 or +1 580-786-6544, local travelers can obtain the most current information on amenities, park conditions, and any available promotions to determine if this developing RV resort meets their needs for a relaxing and enjoyable stay in southeastern Oklahoma.

Cherokee Wild RV Resort Reviews
We stayed at Cherokee Wild RV Park for a week and had a pleasant experience. The park was very nice, clean, and quiet. Our spot was a pull-thru with all hookups, and there was a dog park that my pup loved! There is currently no laundry or bathhouse, but the website says there will be eventually. It’s a small park and the driveway was painfully bumpy with lots of holes, which was not fun to go down with a trailer. It’s also not wide enough for cars to pass each other in the driveway. We also didn’t speak to anyone and was told in the email to send a text to a phone number and let them know we’d arrive and they’d send us the WiFi password, but never heard a word back. We didn’t want or need the WiFi because we have starlink but there was no communication with the park.Despite these issues, it was a beautiful park, and I look forward to the additional modifications they plan to make! There’s not too much to do in the area, but it’s a nice and relaxing place to stop at.
Feb 08, 2025 · anika bakerWe stay here because family lives in Idabel. Only complaints are it seems to need mowed on the site and at the turn in/ driveway every time. Also there is no light at turn in or at the sign.
