Countryside Resort

This is a very nice park full of very nice people, including Rachel and Meghan in the office. There are great daily activities for just about anyone who wants to partake, whether you are staying short- or long-term. There are also scheduled activities (like dances, carnivals, potluck dinners) held throughout each month (especially over the winter). Food trucks come weekly. Activities are all scheduled by the park association rather than the RV resort itself. There is a large clubhouse, a nice pool and hot tub area, a billiards room, craft room, shuffleboard court, very large library, media room (with lots of movies, games and puzzles available), fitness room and laundry facilities. The only thing that was missing was a pickleball court (which is apparently available at a sister site a couple of miles away). The spaces are very large and level - you get a hard-packed dirt space to park your rig with a large, cement pad on the door side as well as another hard-packed dirt site on the other side of the cement pad to park your tow vehicle. Though most of the spaces are also long (giving you lots of room to sit either on your cement pad or behind it), it can feel a bit crowded if you have a large rig in the next site. There were some issues with cleanliness and maintenance of the public spaces (bathroom, showers, laundry room) during our stay. While they changed cleaning companies shortly after we arrived (and we did notice a bit of an improvement in cleanliness), there were many issues with the toilets near the fitness centre. One of the toilets was not secured to the ground and would tip over, while the other was always clogged and overflowing. The on-site maintenance person did as well as he could, but it finally got to a point where even he had to complain the management about it. They finally brought in a plumber to resolve the issues, but only after the issues had existed for quite a few weeks. We experienced a god-awful stink quite a few times. We knew it wasn’t our rig as we only ever have pee in our black tank (along with lots of water). And it was beyond someone simply dumping their tanks. It was so bad the first time we experienced it (along with many others around us) that we called the after-hours emergency number, which happened to be Gene’s cell phone. He didn’t answer, nor did he call me back (ever) to say he had received the message or was doing anything about it. We didn’t get a chance to talk to the office about it the next day (a Friday) and the stink seemed to have dissipated, so we thought the issue was resolved. Until that evening when it returned and again on Sunday morning (when it was so bad it woke us up at 6am!). I finally ran into Charlie, the maintenance guy, on Monday morning (while he was dealing with the final straw in the ever-clogged toilet) and explained what had been happening over the weekend. He told me that Gene had (finally!) arranged to have the holding tanks below our site pumped out, along with several others that were apparently long overdue. (He has also arranged to have a plumber come deal with the long-standing toilet issues when Charlie threatened to quit.) No one had yet called us back to inform us that this would be happening or even when. They finally showed up on Tuesday afternoon and it was all (mostly) good after that.No one should ever be subjected to the kind of smell we experienced on more than one occasion, and it never should have gotten to that point! Pumping out (well-used) holding tanks in an older RV park is something that should be done on a regular basis, especially towards the end of a busy winter season. The people we met there were lovely and we enjoyed our stay (other than the smell). I would have given four or five stars if the management was better. However, because of the lack of seriously needed, regular maintenance, we won’t be returning to Countryside RV. - Jayne Johnson

Countryside Resort Introduce

If you're searching for "RV parks near me" in the Apache Junction, Arizona area, Countryside Resort, located at 2701 S Idaho Rd, Apache Junction, AZ 85119, USA, offers a vibrant and active community atmosphere that many visitors appreciate. Reviews highlight the friendly nature of both the staff, including Rachel and Meghan in the office, and the residents, creating a welcoming environment for both short-term and long-term stays.

One of the standout features of Countryside Resort is the extensive range of daily and scheduled activities available to guests. These activities, organized by the park association rather than the resort itself, cater to a wide variety of interests. Throughout the month, particularly during the winter season, residents and visitors can partake in events such as dances, carnivals, and potluck dinners, fostering a strong sense of community and social interaction. Additionally, the convenience of weekly food truck visits adds to the appeal and social opportunities within the park.

The physical layout of Countryside Resort is also commended in the reviews. The RV spaces are described as "very large and level," providing ample room for even larger rigs. Each site features a hard-packed dirt area for parking the RV, a spacious cement pad on the door side for outdoor living, and another hard-packed dirt area on the opposite side of the cement pad, ideal for parking a tow vehicle. While the length of most spaces is generous, allowing for comfortable seating areas, one reviewer noted that it could feel "a bit crowded if you have a large rig in the next site," suggesting that while the individual spaces are large, proximity to neighboring RVs might be a consideration for some.

Countryside Resort boasts a comprehensive set of amenities designed to enhance the stay of its guests. These include a large clubhouse serving as a central hub for activities and gatherings, a "nice pool and hot tub area" for relaxation and recreation, a billiards room for friendly competition, a craft room for hobbies and creative pursuits, a shuffleboard court for outdoor enjoyment, a "very large library" for reading enthusiasts, a media room equipped with movies, games, and puzzles, a fitness room for those wanting to stay active, and convenient laundry facilities. The only noted missing amenity by one reviewer was a pickleball court, although they mentioned that this was available at a sister site located a couple of miles away.

While the social aspects and the physical infrastructure of Countryside Resort receive positive feedback, several reviews highlight significant concerns regarding the cleanliness and maintenance of the public spaces. One reviewer detailed issues with the bathrooms, showers, and laundry room during their stay. Although a change in cleaning companies occurred shortly after their arrival, leading to some improvement, persistent problems were noted, particularly with the toilets near the fitness center. These issues included a toilet not secured to the ground and another that was frequently clogged and overflowing. The reviewer commended the on-site maintenance person for their efforts but noted that the problems persisted for several weeks before a plumber was finally called in, even after the maintenance person raised concerns with management.

Another serious concern raised in a review was the occurrence of a foul odor within the park on multiple occasions. The reviewer clarified that this was not an issue with their own RV's black tank and described the smell as so severe that they contacted the after-hours emergency number. Unfortunately, they reported that the contact person, Gene, did not answer or return their call. The issue persisted over several days, including waking the reviewer up early one morning. It was eventually discovered that the holding tanks below their site, along with others, were long overdue for pumping. While this issue was eventually addressed, the lack of proactive maintenance and communication was a significant concern for the reviewer.

Despite these maintenance and odor issues, many guests, as reflected in another review, found Countryside Resort to be a "nice place to stay" with "very accommodating" staff and "great people in the park." This reviewer specifically mentioned the park's flexibility during an unexpected extended stay due to off-site trailer repairs and praised the residents for including them in the community. Their positive experience led them to state that they "will definitely be back," highlighting the strong sense of community that seems to be a hallmark of Countryside Resort.

The contrasting experiences suggest that while Countryside Resort offers a socially rich environment with ample activities and spacious sites, potential guests should be aware of the reported issues with the cleanliness and maintenance of public facilities and the responsiveness of management to these concerns. It would be prudent for prospective visitors to inquire about the current status of these issues and any measures that have been taken to address them.

Given the information available, there are no specific promotional offers mentioned for Countryside Resort. However, the emphasis on a wide range of activities and a strong sense of community could be considered a significant draw for those seeking an engaging and social RV park experience in Apache Junction. The large and level sites are also a notable feature for RVers of all sizes.

In conclusion, Countryside Resort in Apache Junction, Arizona, appears to be a popular choice among RVers due to its friendly community, extensive activities program, and spacious RV sites. The availability of a large clubhouse, pool, hot tub, and various recreational facilities further enhances its appeal. However, recent reviews have raised concerns regarding the cleanliness and maintenance of public spaces and the responsiveness of management to these issues. Prospective guests should weigh the positive aspects of the community and amenities against these reported drawbacks and consider inquiring directly with the resort about the current conditions and maintenance protocols before making a reservation.
