Ballyhoo Family Campground Introduce
For local families and outdoor enthusiasts searching for a welcoming 'camping near me' experience, Ballyhoo Family Campground, located at 256 Werthwyle Dr, Crossville, TN 38555, USA, presents itself as a potentially excellent choice. You can reach them at (931) 484-0860 or +1 931-484-0860 for reservations and inquiries. While one review raises concerns regarding their cancellation policy, another provides overwhelmingly positive feedback about the cleanliness of the campground and the friendliness of the camp hosts, suggesting a well-maintained and hospitable environment for visitors.
One of the most significant aspects highlighted in a customer review is that the "campground is kept extremely clean." This is a crucial factor for many when choosing a 'camping near me' location, as cleanliness contributes directly to the comfort and enjoyment of the stay. Knowing that the grounds are well-maintained can provide peace of mind, especially for families with children. This positive feedback suggests that Ballyhoo Family Campground prioritizes the upkeep of its facilities and overall environment.
Another frequently praised feature is the exceptional friendliness of the "camp hosts." The review specifically mentions a camp host named Stanley who went above and beyond to assist a guest with a trailer issue, stating that he "didn’t hesitate to help" and that they are "forever grateful for his help." This level of service and willingness to assist guests can significantly enhance the camping experience, fostering a welcoming and supportive atmosphere. For those seeking 'camping near me' where they can expect friendly and helpful staff, Ballyhoo Family Campground appears to deliver on this front.
The positive review enthusiastically concludes with "You can’t go wrong staying here!" This strong endorsement, based on experiences of cleanliness and exceptional service, suggests that many guests have had positive and memorable stays at Ballyhoo Family Campground. This can be a valuable indicator for local users considering this campground for their next outdoor adventure.
However, it is important to acknowledge the concern raised in another review regarding the campground's cancellation policy. The reviewer stated they had a medical emergency ten days prior to their reservation and were informed of a "no refund policy that is not in their brochure or website." This lack of transparency and inflexibility in the cancellation policy is a point of caution for potential guests. It underscores the importance of inquiring about and fully understanding the campground's policies, particularly regarding cancellations and refunds, before making a reservation. While this review does not reflect on the campground's environment or services during a stay, it is a crucial piece of information for managing expectations and potential financial implications.
Despite the concern about the cancellation policy, the positive review paints a picture of a "diamond in the rough," suggesting that the campground offers a pleasant and perhaps unexpectedly positive experience. The term "diamond in the rough" often implies a hidden gem that exceeds expectations, particularly in terms of cleanliness and hospitality.
Given that the campground is described as a "Family Campground," it is likely to offer amenities and an environment that cater to families. This could include spacious campsites, perhaps play areas for children (though not explicitly mentioned), and a generally family-friendly atmosphere. For local families searching for 'camping near me' in the Crossville area, Ballyhoo Family Campground's designation as a family campground is a significant factor to consider.
Crossville, Tennessee, is situated in a region known for its natural beauty, including the Cumberland Plateau. This suggests that the environment surrounding Ballyhoo Family Campground is likely to be scenic, offering opportunities for outdoor activities such as hiking, exploring nearby state parks, and enjoying the natural landscapes of the area. While the reviews do not provide specific details about the immediate surroundings of the campground itself, its location in Crossville hints at a potentially attractive natural setting.
To provide a more comprehensive introduction, further information about the specific amenities offered at Ballyhoo Family Campground would be beneficial. This could include details about the types of campsites available (e.g., RV sites with hookups, tent sites), the availability and condition of restrooms and showers (beyond the positive mention of cleanliness), laundry facilities, Wi-Fi access, recreational areas, and any specific rules or regulations. However, based on the available reviews, the cleanliness and friendly service appear to be key distinguishing features.
Promotional information for Ballyhoo Family Campground should emphasize the "extremely clean" grounds and the "extremely friendly" camp hosts, as these are the aspects that have garnered positive feedback. The "family campground" designation should also be highlighted to attract families looking for a welcoming and suitable environment for their camping trips. While acknowledging the importance of understanding the cancellation policy, the positive experiences of other guests regarding cleanliness and hospitality should be a central focus of any promotional messaging. Potential taglines could include "Experience Clean and Friendly Camping at Ballyhoo Family Campground" or "Your Family-Friendly Getaway in Crossville, TN, with Exceptional Service."
Local users searching for 'camping near me' in the Crossville area who prioritize cleanliness and a welcoming atmosphere may find Ballyhoo Family Campground to be an excellent option. The positive review regarding the helpfulness of the camp host, Stanley, suggests a level of personal care that can greatly enhance a camping trip. However, it is strongly recommended that potential guests inquire about and fully understand the cancellation policy before making a reservation to avoid any unexpected issues. By balancing the positive feedback about the campground's environment and service with the caution regarding the cancellation policy, local campers can make an informed decision about whether Ballyhoo Family Campground meets their needs for a 'camping near me' experience.

Ballyhoo Family Campground Reviews
We made a reservation for 3 days. Ten days prior I had a medical emergency and called to cancel. They have a no refund policy that is not in their brochure or website. Stay very far away.
Apr 22, 2025 · Sydney TessonWhat a diamond in the rough! Campground is kept extremely clean and camp hosts extremely friendly. We had an issue with our trailer and Stanley didn’t hesitate to help with the issue. We are forever grateful for his help. You can’t go wrong staying here!
Jul 13, 2024 · Norma JacksonThis is our second stay at ballyhoo campground. We stayed the first time for 6 weeks while we sold our house. Doris and Stanley were very gracious host and the grounds are kept immaculate! 6 years later we came back while our new house to be done. (Yes we moved back to Tennessee!) Again Doris and Stanley were very gracious during our stay. I read these reviews about the rules. They are put in place for a reason. So that everyone has a pleasant and safe stay. As for the aggressive dog breeds not being allowed, I myself are glad for those rules, as many seem to think they can let their let there dogs run loose. We have two small poms that wouldn't have a chance if they would be attacked. God forbid a child! This is a very nice campground. We felt very safe here, and I guess if people don't think rules apply to them they should camp elsewhere. After all we all had to follow rules growing up, we shouldn't have a problem with them as adults. If you want a nice quiet campground to relax and have fun, bring your family 👪 here! Thank you Doris and Stanley for another pleasant stay!
Jul 09, 2023 · Gail HowardWe stayed at Ballyhoo Family campground for the first time this past Memorial Day weekend and loved it.The campground is very clean, well laid out where kids have TONS of space to run around and still be able to keep an eye on them as they play on the playground (which could use updating but our kids still loved it). The catch and release pond was beautiful and had plenty of fish to catch, including a couple huge catfish! For the holiday weekend the hosts held a nice little cookout for the campers. When we needed wood for our fire the owners gladly brought us the bundles to us on their golf cart. This campground has everything you need for a great camping trip and we will definitely be back!
Jun 10, 2023 · Nicole IsaacWe were running late. The owner met us with a smile and led us to the full hookup site. Quiet, peaceful and very clean. It's so easy to find off I40. The price is great. A sweet little country find. We will stop again.
