Breckenridge RV Campground Introduce
For local residents seeking a camping experience near Crossville, Tennessee, Breckenridge RV Campground, located at 395 Oak Park Cir, Crossville, TN 38572, USA, presents itself as a potential option within the "camping near me" category. They can be reached by phone at (931) 788-1873 or mobile at +1 931-788-1873. Based on the available customer reviews, the campground offers a mix of positive and negative experiences, which local users should consider when making their decision.
One reviewer describes Breckenridge RV Campground as "great" and "tucked away in a nice quiet wooded area." This suggests that the environment offers a degree of tranquility and natural beauty, potentially appealing to those looking for a peaceful escape. The reviewer also notes "plenty of room in the campground sites," indicating spaciousness and potentially more privacy between camping areas. This can be a significant advantage for campers who value their personal space and a less crowded atmosphere.
In terms of services, the positive review mentions an "on-site washroom with washers and dryers for a reasonable price" and "clean showers and restrooms." The availability of laundry facilities can be particularly beneficial for longer stays, and clean hygiene facilities are a fundamental expectation for most campers. The reviewer also highlights a "community room with a pool table," suggesting an additional amenity for recreation and socializing, which they express interest in using on a future visit.
However, another, more extensive review presents a significantly different perspective, describing the campground as a "huge disappointment" due to "zero upkeep." This reviewer, who stayed for nearly a month, reports that the bathrooms were cleaned only once during their stay, raising concerns about hygiene. They also mention a policy of charging "per animal and per car, even if all vehicles fit on your site," which could increase costs for some campers.
The negative review further details issues with the dog park, stating it "isn’t maintained" and lacks dog waste bags, unlike nearby campgrounds. The campground gate is described as "broken," requiring effort to close. Regarding trash disposal, the reviewer notes a discrepancy with the site map, stating that instead of "plenty of trash cans around the site," there is primarily one trash can near the bathrooms and a single dumpster, which may require a significant walk, especially inconvenient in icy winter conditions. The infrequent emptying of these trash receptacles is also a concern.
The bathrooms are heavily criticized as "disgusting," with infrequent cleaning, "very dirty" showers, and hair present. The only positive mentioned is that the showers were "thankfully very warm." The laundry facilities, while available, are described as "very expensive" at $5 per full load, with the reviewer suggesting it's more economical to use facilities in town.
Customer service, according to the negative review, is lacking, with the staff in the front office described as "not helpful" and giving the impression of being bothered by inquiries. The reviewer contrasts this with the friendly hosts often found at other campgrounds, noting that the staff member was inconsistent in demeanor, ranging from "incredibly rude to very chatty."
A specific point regarding winter visits is raised: "snow plows don’t reach the roads near here," which is acknowledged as not being the campground's fault but is important for local users to consider if planning a winter stay.
The negative review concludes by stating that the campground is "crazy expensive to not even have basic upkeep" and would not be recommended, suggesting that other campsites are cheaper and of higher quality. The reviewer feels there is "literally ZERO effort to maintain this place" despite charging for extras.
A response from someone claiming to be "George" (presumably staff or management) addresses some of the points in the negative review. This response indicates that the extended stay was due to icy road conditions, which were beyond the campground's control. It also touches on issues with online reservations and billing, suggesting potential administrative challenges. The response confirms the laundry cost of $5 per load and the explanation for the price increase due to new machines, with "George" admitting to using cheaper facilities in town. The issue with the dog park gate is also acknowledged as needing to be "manageable" rather than working easily.
Considering these contrasting reviews, the environment of Breckenridge RV Campground seems to offer a quiet, wooded setting with spacious sites, which could be appealing to local users seeking a peaceful natural environment. However, the level of upkeep, particularly regarding cleanliness of bathrooms and maintenance of facilities like the dog park and gate, appears to be a significant concern based on one detailed negative review. The availability of laundry facilities is a plus, but the cost may be prohibitive for some.
The services at Breckenridge RV Campground include on-site washrooms with washers and dryers, clean (according to one review) and warm showers and restrooms, and a community room with a pool table. However, the reliability and upkeep of these services are questioned by another reviewer, who found the bathrooms dirty and the laundry expensive. The issue of charges per animal and per car, as well as the lack of trash cans and dog waste bags, should also be considered by local users.
Features mentioned include the wooded location, spacious campsites, a community room with a pool table, and on-site laundry facilities. However, the negative aspects such as the poorly maintained dog park, broken gate, and inadequate trash disposal system detract from these features. The potential difficulty of accessing the campground during winter due to unplowed roads is also a feature (or lack thereof) to be aware of for local users planning off-season trips.
Currently, no specific promotional information is available in the provided text. Local users would need to contact Breckenridge RV Campground directly to inquire about any special rates, discounts for local residents, or seasonal offers that might be available.
In conclusion, Breckenridge RV Campground offers a potentially quiet and wooded setting with spacious campsites in Crossville, TN. It has on-site laundry and a community room with a pool table. However, local users should be aware of significant concerns raised in a detailed customer review regarding the lack of upkeep, cleanliness of facilities, additional charges, and customer service. The contrasting positive review suggests that some visitors have had a good experience, but the issues highlighted in the negative review and partially acknowledged in the response warrant careful consideration. Local campers are advised to contact the campground directly to get the most up-to-date information on their policies, services, and current conditions before making a reservation.

Breckenridge RV Campground Reviews
Great campground tucked away in a nice quiet wooded area. Plenty of room in the campground sites. On-site washroom with washers and dryers for a reasonable price. Clean showers and restrooms. They even have a community room with a pool table. Which will be sure to try out next time when we come. Great people would highly recommend if you're looking to get away in a nice quiet campground.
Apr 28, 2025 · paul eppleyThis place was a huge disappointment. There is zero upkeep at this site. We were there for a little under a month and they only cleaned the bathrooms one time. They charge per animal and per car, even if all vehicles fit on your site. The dog park isn’t maintained, and unlike the other campgrounds nearby they don’t have bags for your dogs either. The gate was broken and I would need to rake leaves and push stuff out of the way to get it to close.Their site map states that there’s no trash pickup but that there’s plenty of trash cans around the site, which isn’t true. There is one trash can near the bathrooms and other than that it’s just the one dumpster. The trash cans aren’t even emptied very often so you have to walk to the dumpster, which is hard in the winter due to all the ice.The bathrooms are disgusting. They really don’t clean them at all. The showers are very dirty and there’s hair everywhere. The only positive is they were thankfully very warm.Laundry is very expensive. $5 to do a full load. It’s better to just drive into town. The staff are not helpful. Most of the time you walked into the front and it just felt like you were bothering them. Most campground have very friendly hosts who are great during your stay. This one wasn’t a host, just a guy in the front office. He went back and forth from being incredibly rude to very chatty. One thing to keep in mind during the winter is that snow plows don’t reach the roads near here. That’s not the campgrounds fault just something to keep in mind if you’re visiting during winter. This place is crazy expensive to not even have basic upkeep. I would not recommend to anyone. Literally any other campsite will end up being cheaper and 10xs nicer. There is literally ZERO effort to maintain this place but you’re paying for every little extra thing possible.**********replying to comment************George- we stayed with you for that long because the roads were so icy. That is not the campgrounds fault just how it is. Our original reservation was for two weeks not one day. It’s really quite surprising how you even messed that part up. The campground should not even allow online reservations since you do not have the ability to check them in your system, which you said, and because you couldn’t figure out how to let us pay our remaining balance in person instead of on the phone. we had so many charges from you because you couldn’t charge us for the remaining balance after our online Payments. And I kept trying to do it online to avoid talking to you! You like to argue and lecture for no reason! When I came in asking what the laundry code was you said it was in the map. When I showed you the map and said there’s no code for laundry only for the bathrooms you just argued with me even though it’s literally on a piece of paper not me making it up!We even talked about how laundry was expensive there. You said it was $3 to use the washer and $2 for the dryer. Which equals $5. You said you increased it to that price because they were brand new and you were trying to make up for those costs. You said you didn’t even use them you went into town to use them because it was cheaper and you could use the big machines. The gate for the dog park was manageable but it shouldn’t have to be manageable it should just work easily. Guests shouldn’t have to move things out of the way and lift the gate for it to work.Anyways if anyone going to stay here is planning on it good luck. Maybe summer is better.
Feb 22, 2025 · Adriana MunsonA nice quiet campground off the beaten path, roughly 30 minutes south of Crossville, Tenn. Not very big, but plenty of places for big and small campers (travel trailers, 5th wheels, motorhomes). There is a catch and release lake nearby. Bathrooms are clean, and there is a laundry. We camped with a F-150 and travel trailer and would camp here again
Apr 08, 2025 · David WolfeThis was our second time staying at this campground and enjoyed it even more this time around. The managers are so friendly, helpful and just awesome, down to earth people. They keep the park running smoothly, beautiful and well maintained. The bathrooms were always clean with plenty of hot water for a shower and the laundry room too, even though we didn't do laundry it's nice to see they still accept coins! Our RV site was pretty level and quite shaded this time in the same site as we were a month before. We feel at home in this park and could see ourselves staying longer maybe even annually. We spoke with several full-time residents who were friendly and made us feel welcome. We recommend anyone traveling in the area to stop and stay awhile.Thank you guys for being there!
May 24, 2024 · John EI'm retired and have traveled full time for a few years now. Stayed here a couple weeks back and this has been the best stay yet. Water's hot, bathrooms are clean, Loretta is a perfect hostess and George cooks a mean spaghetti dinner. Staying there again in September and am already looking forward to it. Everyone is very welcoming and make you feel right at home.
