Crescent Mobile Home Park Introduce
Are you searching for "rv parks near me" in Sumter, South Carolina, for long-term recreational vehicle living? Crescent Mobile Home Park, located at 4100 Broad St, Sumter, SC 29154, USA, offers spaces for RVs and can be contacted at (803) 494-8024 or +1 803-494-8024. Understanding the experiences of current residents is crucial when considering a new place to live. Reviews for Crescent Mobile Home Park present a mixed picture, highlighting both positive aspects and significant concerns that potential residents should be aware of.
One resident expresses a highly positive experience living in their RV at Crescent Mobile Home Park. They praise the park's management, describing it as well-managed with a friendly staff that keeps the park well taken care of. This reviewer also notes the large lots with full hookups and friendly neighbors, contributing to a positive community feel. The convenience of the location is also highlighted, with a "ton of great places to eat and shop in Sumter" just a 3-minute drive away. This resident, an active duty service member at the nearby Air Base, expresses complete satisfaction with their living situation at the park.
However, another long-term resident, who moved to Crescent Mobile Home Park in August 2021, shares a significantly different and concerning experience. Their review raises serious questions about the park's environment and management practices. A primary concern is the alleged contamination of the well water with PFAS from Shaw Air Force Base. This reviewer states that residents were not informed of this issue upon moving in and only learned about it after living there for over two years and consuming the water. They further claim that they and their family have experienced increased illness since moving to the park. This is a critical piece of information for potential residents to consider, especially regarding health and safety.
Adding to these concerns, the same long-term resident reports difficulties in getting maintenance repairs done. They cite an ongoing issue with sewage running under their house and in the yard since November 2023, indicating a potentially significant environmental and health hazard that has not been adequately addressed over an extended period. This raises questions about the responsiveness and effectiveness of the park's maintenance services.
Safety and security are also brought into question by this reviewer. They mention frequent "gum shots" in and around the park and recount an incident where someone attempted to steal their bike in broad daylight, which they personally had to stop. These incidents suggest potential safety concerns within the community that prospective residents should be aware of and consider.
One of the reasons this reviewer chose Crescent Mobile Home Park was its purported pet-friendly policy, specifically for cats. While the park is described as "cat friendly," the reviewer details a distressing situation involving abandoned cats and kittens within the park. They claim to have rescued over ten cats that were abandoned by moving residents or simply dropped off at the dumpsters. This paints a picture of potential neglect and overpopulation of stray animals within the park, which could be a concern for animal lovers and other residents alike.
Finally, this long-term resident criticizes the upkeep of the park's dirt roads, stating that they are not maintained properly and cause damage to vehicles. This suggests a potential issue with the infrastructure of the park and could lead to additional expenses and inconveniences for residents with vehicles.
Considering these contrasting reviews is essential for anyone looking at "rv parks near me" in Sumter, SC. While one resident reports a positive experience with management, maintenance, and location, another details significant concerns regarding water quality, maintenance responsiveness, safety, and the handling of abandoned pets. These are serious issues that potential residents must investigate further.
Based on the available information, potential features and services at Crescent Mobile Home Park could include:
- Long-term residential lots for RVs with full hookups.
- Potentially large lots, as mentioned by one reviewer.
- Proximity to shopping and dining options in Sumter (within a 3-minute drive).
- A seemingly pet-friendly policy, at least for cats, although this is accompanied by concerns about abandoned animals.
- On-site management, although its effectiveness is viewed differently by the two reviewers.
Promotional information is limited to the positive aspects mentioned in the first review, such as the well-managed park, friendly staff, well-maintained grounds (according to one perspective), large lots with full hookups, and convenient location. However, the second review presents critical information that directly contradicts some of these points and raises serious concerns about the overall living environment.
Given the significant discrepancies in the two reviews, it is strongly recommended that anyone considering Crescent Mobile Home Park as a potential residence contact the management directly at (803) 494-8024 or +1 803-494-8024 to inquire about the issues raised in the negative review, particularly the water quality, maintenance procedures, and safety measures. It would also be prudent to request documentation regarding water testing and any remediation efforts undertaken. Visiting the park in person to assess the conditions of the roads, the general upkeep of the community, and to speak with current residents (as suggested by the critical reviewer) would provide invaluable first-hand information. Asking specific questions about maintenance response times, security protocols, and pet policies would also be crucial.
When searching for "rv parks near me" that offer long-term stays, Crescent Mobile Home Park presents a location with some conveniences. However, the serious allegations made in one of the reviews regarding water contamination, maintenance neglect, and safety concerns cannot be ignored. Potential residents must weigh the positive aspects reported by one individual against the significant issues raised by another and conduct thorough due diligence before making a decision. Talking to multiple current residents, if possible, would offer a broader perspective on the living conditions at Crescent Mobile Home Park.
In conclusion, while Crescent Mobile Home Park offers a location near Sumter's amenities and, according to one reviewer, a well-managed environment with friendly staff and good hookups, the serious concerns raised by another resident regarding water contamination, maintenance issues, safety, and the handling of abandoned pets are critical factors that potential residents must investigate thoroughly. Objective consideration of both positive and negative feedback, along with independent verification, is essential when evaluating Crescent Mobile Home Park as a long-term RV living option in Sumter, South Carolina.

Crescent Mobile Home Park Reviews
I absolutely love living here in my RV. This park is well managed with a friendly staff who keeps the park well taken care of. The lots are large with full hookups and friendly neighbors. Within a 3 minute drive, you can find a ton of great places to eat and shop in Sumter. I am an active duty service member working here at the Air Base, and couldn't be happier with this park.
Nov 09, 2018 · William RichardsonWe moved here in August 2021, we were not informed that the well water was contaminated with Pfas from shaw AFB and that shaw was providing free drinking water through a water delivery company, we finally learned about the well water after being here over 2 years and drinking the water! We have all be sick or sicker since we have moved hereIt's hard to get maintenance to get repairs done, we have been dealing with sewage running under our house and in the yard since November 2023, There have been gum shots in and around the park very often, a man tried to steal our bike in broad day light but I stopped him, what sold me on moving here is the park is cat friendly, or so they say. We had 4 when we moved here and have rescued more than 10 that people move and abandoned, and others just drop kittens and cats at the dumpsters I'm the park. The parks dirt roads are not kept up like should be and wreak havock on cars, we are ready to move and will !!ake sure y ask questions and look it over well, talk to some of the people whp live here!
Mar 16, 2024 · George HiltonHave been in the park for the better part of a year now. As a RV owner I was accommodated quickly and provided a lot with plenty of shade and privacy. Great neighbors, friendly staff, reasonable lot rates with all amenities, and great location close to shopping centers and restaurants. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Crescent and look forward to a lengthy stay here. My wife and children feel safe and welcome and that means the world to me. Steve is doing a wonderful job managing the park and I can honestly say has his tennants best interests at heart. I would recommend Crescent to anyone trying to find a nice place to call home.
Mar 01, 2021 · Alton DochertyBe careful of this place. They are preying on poor people with poor credit. The “manager” and I use this term loosely because I observed no license posted, repeatedly pushed “rent to own” on me after I told him I was not interested in that. (Never rent to own a mobile home or anything if you can, because you’ll always end up paying double or triple the value) He wanted $3500-$5000 down in order to rent to own. He told me at the time that I picked up the application that the rentals came with appliances and the rent to own did not have appliances. Today he reversed the information but told me he would check with someone and get back to me or I could pay $1000 on top of the $1500 down to have appliances in the unit. No thank you. I took the application back because I don’t trust leaving my personal information with these people. This is nothing but a pump and dump scheme. Get people in paying as much down as possible and getting them back out when they default on rent. You’ve been warned.
Oct 11, 2022 · Shawnice MekiaI lived in this trailer park 15 years ago but I come back yearly to visit family living in the area. The park is under new management and they seem to be working hard to improve the quality of the park. The new manager, Steve, is a great guy and is on top of things. He's definitely getting the job done and doing it well. Would definitely recommend.
