Columbia/Camden RV Park Introduce
For local RV travelers in and around the Lugoff, South Carolina area, searching for "RV parks near me," Columbia/Camden RV Park, located at 1354 Fort Jackson Rd, Lugoff, SC 29078, USA, and reachable by phone at (803) 206-9954 or +1 803-206-9954, offers a park with notable strengths in customer service and amenities, alongside some areas that potential visitors should consider. Based on the available customer reviews, the park is praised for its friendly and accommodating staff, reasonable prices, and the significant perk of free on-site laundry. However, some concerns are raised regarding the levelness of certain sites and the condition of the bathroom facilities.
The Beautiful Countryside Environment near Lugoff
Columbia/Camden RV Park is situated in Lugoff, South Carolina, an area that at least one reviewer described as having a "beautiful countryside." This suggests that visitors can expect a setting that offers scenic views and a potentially peaceful environment away from the immediate urban areas of Columbia and Camden. The natural surroundings might include open fields, trees, and a generally rural landscape, providing a pleasant backdrop for an RV stay. While the reviews do not delve deeply into the specific environmental features, the positive mention of the countryside indicates that the location offers an appealing natural ambiance for those seeking a break from city life or simply enjoying the scenery during their travels through South Carolina.
Services and Amenities: Friendly Staff and Free Laundry Stand Out
One of the most consistently praised aspects of Columbia/Camden RV Park is its staff. Reviewers describe them as "extremely friendly and accommodating" and note "decent service" upon arrival. Their helpfulness extends beyond basic check-in, as one long-term guest recounted how the staff accommodated their purchase of a much larger camper and even allowed storage of their previous camper for a minimal cost until it could be sold. This level of flexibility and willingness to go the extra mile suggests a strong commitment to customer satisfaction. A significant amenity highlighted in the reviews is the "free onsite laundry," which one guest stated made their multi-month stay "10 times better." This is a valuable perk for travelers, especially those on longer journeys, as it can save both time and money compared to using paid laundry facilities. While specific details about other amenities like Wi-Fi, recreational areas, or pet policies are not mentioned, the positive feedback on staff and the inclusion of free laundry are notable service strengths.
Site Conditions and Bathroom Facilities: Areas for Potential Improvement
While the staff and some amenities receive high praise, the reviews also point out areas where Columbia/Camden RV Park could improve. One reviewer noted that their assigned space was "low," leading to issues with draining tanks because the sewer pipe was higher than their tank drain. They suggested that lowering the sewer pipe and adding gravel to raise the elevation of the site would improve this issue and better level the space. This indicates that at least some of the RV sites might not be perfectly level, which can be a concern for the comfort and functionality of RVs. Additionally, another reviewer described the "bathrooms and showers" as seeming to be "a bit makeshift though adequate." They suggested the addition of "some hooks and/or towel bars" would be helpful, implying that these basic conveniences might be lacking. While deemed adequate for a short stay, the makeshift nature of the facilities might be a consideration for those planning a longer visit or who prioritize modern and well-appointed restrooms.
Pricing and Value: Reasonable for Longer Stays, Questionable for a Single Night
The pricing at Columbia/Camden RV Park is described as "very reasonable" by a guest who stayed for several months. This suggests that for longer durations, the park offers good value, especially when considering the inclusion of free laundry and the positive experiences with the staff. However, another reviewer who stayed for only one night felt that the price of "$50" was not worth it for a short stopover, particularly given the issues with the site and the basic nature of the bathroom facilities. This indicates that the perceived value of a stay at Columbia/Camden RV Park might depend on the duration of the visit, with longer stays potentially offering better value due to the reasonable overall rates and included amenities like free laundry.

A Convenient and Friendly Option for RVers Near Columbia and Camden
For local RV travelers seeking "RV parks near me" in the vicinity of Columbia and Camden, South Carolina, Columbia/Camden RV Park offers a convenient location with a clear strength in its friendly and accommodating staff. The reasonable prices, especially for longer stays, and the valuable amenity of free on-site laundry make it an attractive option for those planning to stay for more than just a night. The beautiful countryside surroundings add to the appeal of the location. However, potential visitors should be aware of the possibility of uneven sites and the basic, albeit adequate, nature of the bathroom and shower facilities. The perceived value might be higher for longer stays where the overall reasonable rates and included amenities outweigh the minor inconveniences. For short overnight stays, travelers might want to weigh the price against the reported site and facility conditions. Overall, Columbia/Camden RV Park appears to be a solid choice for those who prioritize friendly service and the convenience of free laundry, particularly for extended visits in the Lugoff area.
In conclusion, Columbia/Camden RV Park in Lugoff, SC, offers a welcoming experience with its friendly and accommodating staff, reasonable pricing for longer stays, and the significant benefit of free on-site laundry. While the beautiful countryside location is a plus, potential guests should be aware of the possibility of uneven RV sites and somewhat basic bathroom facilities. Columbia/Camden RV Park Reviews
We stayed several months and loved it. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. While there we were able to purchase a new camper, not only did they accommodate for the much larger camper but also allowed me to store our previous camper there for next to nothing until we could get rid of it. The prices are very reasonable and the free onsite laundry made it 10 times better. We will definitely be returning in the future.
Dec 13, 2024 · Jo MommaBased on my experience this place isn't bad. I had decent service when I pulled in. The space I had was low. When I went to drain tanks it would flow because the sewer pipe is higher than my tank drain so somehow the pipe should be lowered a bit and gravel added to the ground to raise elevation and better level the space. Beautiful countryside. The bathrooms and showers seem to be a bit makeshift though adequate. Some hooks and/or towel bars would be helpful. Just staying for one night I don't think it's worth the $50.
May 08, 2023 · Randall BowmanGreat place to stop for the night. They don't allow big dogs or older campers. You can still hear the interstate in the distance, but it's not loud enough to disturb you. The kids loved getting to pet the animals out back in the morning. I'm very thankful the manager was able to accommodate us last minute. Thank you.
Nov 26, 2023 · Monica SkaggsI lived in the rv park. I never had a good day at the rv park. I pulled in my rv in June of 2023 and by Sept 2023 they told me I had 5 days to get off the property. If the manager don't like you she will figure out to get rid of you. It seems like everyday the rules changed. They would chase me around the rv court with their golf carts had my dogs scared to death of them. My few months there were the most stressful months. She watches you like a hawk. Don't stay there it is not worth it.
