Powells Mobile Home Park Inc Introduce
For local individuals seeking information about "RV parks near me" in the Columbia, South Carolina area, this introduction aims to provide an objective overview of Powells Mobile Home Park Inc, located at 702 Percival Rd, Columbia, SC 29206, USA. It is important to note that while the platform category is "RV parks near me," the entity in question is identified as a "mobile home park." This distinction is crucial as mobile home parks and RV parks, while both offering residential spaces for mobile units, often have different structures, regulations, and amenities. This introduction will synthesize publicly available information, primarily from customer reviews, to offer insights into the environment, services, and features of Powells Mobile Home Park Inc for local users considering their options.
Based on the limited information available online, primarily stemming from customer reviews, the overall sentiment regarding Powells Mobile Home Park Inc is overwhelmingly negative. These reviews paint a concerning picture of the park's environment and management. Several recurring themes emerge from the feedback, which potential local users should carefully consider when exploring "RV parks near me" or long-term living arrangements for their mobile units.
One of the most frequently cited issues is the poor condition of the infrastructure within the park. Multiple reviewers describe the "terrible roads" that are "bumpy" and "filled with potholes." Such road conditions can create significant inconvenience and potential damage to vehicles, including RVs. The lack of maintenance extends beyond the roads, with one reviewer stating that "Maintenance is a joke" and another describing the park as "old and run down looking" and "raggedy." This suggests a general state of disrepair that may impact the living experience for residents.
Another significant concern raised in the reviews is the cleanliness and overall upkeep of the property. One reviewer mentions that the park is "too clustered and need cleaning," while another refers to it as a "roach infested slum park." The presence of roach infestations is a serious health and safety issue. Furthermore, the observation that the park "needs to be paved roads" and the repeated complaints about the lack of proper maintenance indicate a potential neglect of essential upkeep.
A particularly unusual and frequently mentioned aspect of Powells Mobile Home Park Inc is the alleged large population of cats. Reviewers state "A LOT OF CATS!!!" and "The cats take up the whole property!!" This abundance of cats might be a concern for individuals with allergies or those who prefer a pet-free environment. While some might view stray animals positively, a large, unmanaged population could lead to hygiene issues and potential nuisances.
Concerns about safety and security are also raised in the reviews. One reviewer explicitly states, "Not a safe environment at all." Another recounts a disturbing incident involving the maintenance man's daughter and her boyfriend, including late-night disturbances, threats, and even gunshots fired in the vicinity of the reviewer's unit, where they were with a young child. Such allegations, if accurate, indicate a severe lack of safety and security within the park and should be a significant red flag for potential residents.
Several reviewers express dissatisfaction with the management and their practices. One claims that the management seems to be "doing a lot to benefit themselves and not the tents that stay here," alleging that new homes were being built to the detriment of existing residents. Another reviewer recounts a deeply troubling experience of their trailer being emptied out before they could remove their belongings, along with accusations of theft by the maintenance staff and their family. These allegations point to serious issues with the integrity and conduct of the park's management and staff.
Furthermore, there are complaints about the value for money, with one reviewer stating, "Not worth what they charge for rent." Another suggests that the park needs to "replace them with up to date trailers," indicating that the existing mobile homes are outdated and potentially in poor condition. The difficulty in contacting the office, with a report of the mailbox being full, further suggests potential issues with communication and responsiveness from the management.
One reviewer did note that "The location is great," suggesting that the physical location of Powells Mobile Home Park Inc in Columbia, SC might be advantageous due to its proximity to amenities, transportation, or other desirable aspects of the area. However, this positive comment about the location is starkly contrasted by the overwhelmingly negative feedback regarding the park itself, with the reviewer adding, "The Mobile Home Park, not so much."
Given the consistent and severe nature of the complaints in the available reviews, it is difficult to identify any positive "services" or "features" of Powells Mobile Home Park Inc from this information. The feedback primarily focuses on the negative aspects of the environment, maintenance, safety, and management. There is no indication of typical RV park amenities such as hookups (electrical, water, sewer), laundry facilities, recreational areas, or pet policies beyond the apparent presence of a large number of cats.
Similarly, there is no "promotional information" available. The customer reviews serve as a form of negative promotion, strongly advising potential renters to avoid the park. The recurring themes of disrepair, infestations, safety concerns, and alleged mismanagement paint a picture that is far from appealing for anyone seeking a place to live, whether in a mobile home or an RV (if RVs are even permitted on a long-term basis, which is not clear from the provided information).
For local users specifically searching for "RV parks near me," it is crucial to recognize that Powells Mobile Home Park Inc is identified as a mobile home park, and the reviews do not specifically address its suitability or services for RVs. While some mobile home parks may accommodate RVs, the negative feedback regarding the overall condition and management of Powells Mobile Home Park Inc should give serious pause to any RV owner considering it as a potential long-term or permanent residence. The issues with roads, maintenance, safety, and alleged mismanagement would likely extend to any RV residents as well.
In conclusion, based on the limited but strongly negative information available from customer reviews, Powells Mobile Home Park Inc at 702 Percival Rd, Columbia, SC, appears to be a mobile home park plagued by significant issues including poor infrastructure, lack of maintenance, potential pest infestations, safety concerns, and allegations of mismanagement. While its location might be considered advantageous by some, the condition of the park itself seems to be a major deterrent. Local users searching for "RV parks near me" in Columbia, SC, should be extremely cautious about considering Powells Mobile Home Park Inc based on this publicly available feedback and would be well advised to thoroughly investigate and seek alternative options with more positive reviews and a clearer focus on serving the needs of RV residents, if indeed this park accommodates them.

Feb 07, 2023 · Dipalo RobinsonI was in unit 8. These people empty out the trailer before I was able to clean it out... Also the trailer had mold growing which made me sick to where I had to go to the hospital for two weeks. Then had the nerve to say they didn't know. Also the wire were bad throughout the home. Then on top on that the maintenance man daughter continued to know on my door 2 am every other morning talking bout someone was in my house talking bout her. One night her boyfriend came to my door banging then lift up his shirt showing a gun when I close the door and he shoot 3 shots in the sky... Knowing it was just me and my 3 year old.... They had no reason to touch my things. And 1000s of dollar of stuff I know the maintenance guy and his family took
May 31, 2023 · Yuri PattersonThe location is great. The Mobile Home Park, not so much. The homes are run down and the road definitely needs to be paved. You need a chin strap just to drive through the park.As rundown as this place is, they have the audacity to do background checks on potential residents. Please, I'm sure that they have more drug dealers, and common criminals living here than the imagination can conjure up.
Mar 15, 2021 · Sherry ImerionHaven't moved in yet I don't like the amount of the deposit but the management guy Carlos was very nice and has been don't know the condition of the ins-and-outs of the trailer but I did see it and it was pretty nice update later
