Flying Dutchman RV Resort Introduce

When your search for "RV parks near me" brings you to the charming town of Waxahachie, Texas, consider the highly-rated Flying Dutchman RV Resort, located at 2356 FM 66, Waxahachie, TX 75167, USA. You can reach them at (214) 949-0310 or via mobile at +1 214-949-0310 to inquire about availability and experience the comfort and convenience that this well-regarded RV park has to offer. Based on recent customer reviews, Flying Dutchman RV Resort stands out for its security, spacious sites, excellent facilities, and friendly management, making it a great choice for both short and potentially longer stays in the Waxahachie area.

One of the primary advantages of Flying Dutchman RV Resort, as highlighted by multiple guests, is its secure environment, being a "gated" community. This feature provides an added layer of safety and peace of mind for travelers, ensuring a more secure and relaxed stay. Knowing that the park has controlled access can be particularly reassuring for those traveling with valuable belongings or those who prioritize security.

The ease of parking and site setup is another significant benefit mentioned by reviewers. The park offers "easy pull-through sites" that are also "level" and "paved." These features greatly simplify the process of arriving and setting up your RV, especially for larger rigs. Level sites ensure that your RV is stable and appliances function correctly, while paved surfaces help to keep things clean and prevent muddy conditions. The convenience of pull-through sites means you don't have to worry about backing in, making arrival and departure much smoother.

Space is a recurring positive comment regarding the sites at Flying Dutchman RV Resort. Guests note that there is "lots of room for your RV," and you can comfortably park "two cars side by side and not too close to the next site." This spaciousness enhances privacy and provides ample area for outdoor living around your RV. The feeling of being "roomy" contributes to a more comfortable and less cramped experience compared to some other RV parks.

The overall atmosphere of the park is described as "quiet," which is a significant plus for those seeking a peaceful and restful stay. A tranquil environment allows guests to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings without the disturbance of excessive noise. This quiet ambiance, despite the park's proximity to commercial and industrial buildings, suggests effective management in maintaining a serene atmosphere within the resort.

The management at Flying Dutchman RV Resort receives high praise, with one guest describing the manager as "lovely" and another referring to a "friendly host." Positive interactions with park management can greatly enhance the overall experience, making guests feel welcome and ensuring that any needs or concerns are addressed promptly and with a positive attitude.

One of the standout amenities at the resort is the "wonderful laundry room." This facility is well-equipped with "4 sets of washer/dryer for coin operated and 4 sets for electronic/card payment." The availability of both payment options provides flexibility and convenience for guests, catering to different preferences. A clean and well-maintained laundry room with ample machines is a significant asset for any RV park, especially for longer stays.

The reviews also provide some objective observations regarding the environment and amenities. The landscape is noted as consisting of "weeds and small trees," indicating a more natural or perhaps less manicured setting. It's also explicitly mentioned that there is "no pool or playground," which might be a consideration for families traveling with children or those seeking recreational facilities on-site. However, the focus on spacious sites and a quiet atmosphere suggests that the park caters more to those seeking a comfortable and secure base rather than extensive recreational amenities.

Connectivity is also mentioned, with one guest reporting "Good ATT 5-G service," which is essential for travelers needing to stay connected for work or personal reasons.

One potential drawback mentioned in the reviews is the "traffic at the main roads 4 way stop," located a few miles off the freeway. Guests have experienced significant delays, with wait times of "15-20 min on typical morning" and an extreme case of being "stuck in traffic for nearly two hours just to get back to rv during Renaissance festival." Another guest noted that the 4-way stop can take "5-10 minutes to pass during rush-hour and other busy times of day." This traffic congestion at certain times, particularly during local events like the Renaissance festival, is something to be aware of when planning your comings and goings from the RV resort.

In terms of promotional information, one reviewer mentioned that "They accepted my Passport America for two nights." Passport America is a discount camping club, so this indicates that Flying Dutchman RV Resort participates in such programs, potentially offering discounted rates to members for a limited number of nights. Travelers who are members of RV discount clubs should inquire about potential savings when booking their stay.

While one guest noted "Evidence of ants," they also stated, "but I saw none." This suggests that while there might be some presence of common outdoor pests, it was not a significant issue for this particular guest. However, it's always wise for RVers to take standard precautions against insects.

Overall, Flying Dutchman RV Resort in Waxahachie, Texas, offers a secure, spacious, and quiet environment with well-maintained facilities and friendly management. The easy pull-through and level paved sites, along with the excellent laundry room, contribute to a comfortable and convenient stay. While the lack of a pool or playground might be a consideration for some, the spaciousness and tranquility are significant advantages. The main drawback appears to be the traffic congestion at a nearby intersection, particularly during peak times and local events. However, the positive aspects of the resort itself make it a highly recommended option for those seeking "RV parks near me" in the Waxahachie area. Be sure to inquire about potential discounts through RV clubs like Passport America when booking your stay.

When you contact Flying Dutchman RV Resort, consider asking about:

  • Current rates for daily, weekly, and monthly stays.
  • Availability of sites, especially during peak seasons or local events like the Renaissance festival.
  • Specifics about the gated security system and any access procedures.
  • The exact location of the 4-way stop and potential traffic considerations.
  • Whether they offer any other discounts or participate in other RV membership programs.
  • The types of utility hookups available at each site (water, electricity, sewer).
  • Any specific rules or regulations of the park to ensure a pleasant stay for all guests.
  • The surrounding area and any local attractions or amenities within a short drive, keeping the traffic in mind.
  • Pet policies, if you plan to travel with animals.

By gathering this information, you can make a well-informed decision about whether Flying Dutchman RV Resort meets your needs for a comfortable and secure stay in Waxahachie, Texas.
