Franklin Shattalon Enterprises Introduce
If you are searching for "RV Parks Near Me" in the Winston-Salem, North Carolina area, Franklin Shattalon Enterprises, located at 5255 Shattalon Dr, is a mobile home park that may present itself as a potential option for long-term RV living. However, it is crucial to consider the available customer reviews, which offer contrasting perspectives across different time periods and raise concerns about the current state of the property. For inquiries, you can contact Franklin Shattalon Enterprises at (877) 875-2391 or +1 877-875-2391.
Environment and Atmosphere:
One review, dating back to a resident from 1999-2000, recalls the interior of a two-bedroom single-wide mobile home as having a "very dated 70's interior." While this observation is historical, it suggests that some of the infrastructure within the park might be older. The primary concern raised in this review was a potentially hazardous "old fuel oil furnace" that was not properly ventilated. The reviewer expressed hope that units have been updated since then. For RV owners considering a long-term stay, the age and condition of the park's infrastructure, including utility hookups, would be a significant factor.
In stark contrast, a more recent review from a former manager describes the place as "dirty" and "over run badly," comparing its current state unfavorably to when they managed it, stating it was "nice and very clean" then. The reviewer uses a strong analogy, "like little Havana," to convey the extent of the perceived change, emphasizing a negative shift in the community's environment. This perspective raises serious concerns about the current living conditions and overall atmosphere of Franklin Shattalon Enterprises.
The same recent review also mentions that "the roads are potholed," indicating potential issues with the park's infrastructure and maintenance. For RV owners, well-maintained roads are essential for the safe maneuvering and parking of their vehicles. Potholed roads can lead to damage and a less pleasant living environment.
When considering Franklin Shattalon Enterprises for RV living, it would be critical to conduct a thorough inspection of the property and inquire specifically about the current state of the roads, the cleanliness of the community, and the condition of any available RV sites and utility hookups.
Services and Amenities:
The information regarding services and amenities at Franklin Shattalon Enterprises is limited and somewhat contradictory. The older review mentions that the mobile home they rented had "laundry hook-ups," suggesting that at least some units were equipped for this. However, the more recent review states that the "rent is high with no amenities at all." This discrepancy could indicate a change in the services offered or a difference in what is considered an amenity by the former manager.
For RV owners, essential services typically include reliable water, electricity (with sufficient amperage for RV needs), and sewer hookups. The availability and functionality of these services at Franklin Shattalon Enterprises would need to be confirmed directly with the management. Inquiries should also be made about waste disposal facilities for RVs (dump station) if individual sewer hookups are not provided at each site.
The lack of mention of common amenities often found in RV parks, such as laundry facilities, restrooms with showers, recreational areas, or on-site management offices, suggests that these might be limited or non-existent at Franklin Shattalon Enterprises, especially given the recent review's statement of "no amenities at all."
Features and Benefits:
Based on the limited and conflicting reviews, identifying clear features and benefits of choosing Franklin Shattalon Enterprises for RV living is challenging. The historical review points to the potential for laundry hookups within individual units (if RVs are offered with such setups). However, the recent review negates the presence of any amenities and highlights negative aspects such as the park's cleanliness and road conditions.
The location in Winston-Salem, NC, might be considered a potential benefit, depending on an individual's familiarity with or desire to live in that area. Winston-Salem offers a range of urban and suburban conveniences and attractions. However, the specific location within Winston-Salem and its proximity to essential services for RV living (e.g., repair shops, camping supply stores) would need to be assessed.
Given the significant concerns raised in the recent review, any potential benefits would need to be carefully weighed against the reported negative conditions.
Promotional Information:
The provided information does not include any promotional offers or discounts for prospective residents, including those with RVs. Local users interested in long-term RV stays at Franklin Shattalon Enterprises should contact the management directly at (877) 875-2391 or +1 877-875-2391 to inquire about the availability of RV sites, monthly rates, lease terms, security deposits, and any applicable fees. It would be crucial to ask about the current state of the park's infrastructure, cleanliness, and road conditions, directly addressing the concerns raised in the recent review.
Prospective residents should also inquire about the age and condition of the utility hookups available for RVs and whether any upgrades or maintenance have been performed since the older review mentioned a potentially hazardous furnace situation in some units. While this was specific to a mobile home, it underscores the importance of ensuring that all utilities are safe and functioning correctly for RVs as well.
Given the strong negative feedback in the recent review, it would be highly advisable for potential RV residents to visit Franklin Shattalon Enterprises in person to assess the current conditions before making any commitment.
Conclusion:
Franklin Shattalon Enterprises in Winston-Salem, NC, presents a complex picture for those seeking "RV Parks Near Me" for long-term living. While an older review provides some historical context about potential features like laundry hookups in some units, a more recent review from a former manager raises significant concerns about the park's current cleanliness, infrastructure (specifically roads), and lack of amenities, also describing a perceived negative shift in the community's environment. The discrepancy between these reviews underscores the importance of caution and thorough investigation.
Local users considering Franklin Shattalon Enterprises for RV living must contact the management directly at (877) 875-2391 or +1 877-875-2391 to obtain current information about RV site availability, utility hookups, monthly rates, and the overall condition of the park. It is strongly recommended that prospective residents visit the property in person to assess the environment, infrastructure, and cleanliness for themselves, and to directly address the serious concerns raised in the recent negative review before making any decisions about a long-term stay.

Franklin Shattalon Enterprises Reviews
Lived in this mobile home park for approximately a year in 1999-2000. The rent if I remember correctly was around $600 for 2bdr single wide. Had laundry hook-ups. It was a very dated 70's interior. My only real complaint would have to be that the old fuel oil furnace was not ventilated properly and almost suffocated me once winter came. Hopefully they've updated some of the units since then.
Aug 02, 2024 · Aaron Wells (PokeyKnows)This place is dirty. I used to be the manager and back then it was nice and very clean. Now it's like little Havana. No offense to anyone but it's over run badly. The roads are potholed rent is high with no amenities at all. Stay away!
Jan 23, 2018 · Bobbi MarieThere's no amenities like a place for kids to go and play with each other and trash service is provided by the city of Winston Salem NC so truthfully there's none what so ever and the lot rent is way to much for the size of the lots
