Greystone RV Park Introduce
For local RV enthusiasts seeking "RV Parks Near Me" in the picturesque region of Pinnacle, North Carolina, Greystone RV Park, located at 1166 Pilot Knob Park Rd, Pinnacle, NC 27043, USA, presents an option with notable strengths and significant points of consideration. Contactable at (336) 368-5588 or +1 336-368-5588, this RV park has garnered both high praise for its physical attributes and considerable criticism regarding its management style, as evidenced by recent customer reviews. Local RVers should weigh these aspects carefully to determine if Greystone RV Park aligns with their desired camping experience.
The Environment: Beautiful Grounds and Scenic Views:
One consistent positive aspect highlighted in the reviews is the exceptional beauty of Greystone RV Park. One visitor described it as an "amazing facility!" that "totally exceeded our expectations," specifically noting the "beautiful" grounds. Another reviewer, despite significant issues with the camp host, still awarded the facility itself a high rating, emphasizing the "immaculately maintained" grounds and the "very quiet & relaxing" atmosphere. The mention of a "view" also suggests that the park benefits from the natural scenic beauty of the Pinnacle, NC area, likely offering pleasant surroundings for RVers seeking a tranquil escape within the "RV Parks Near Me" category.
The location in Pinnacle, North Carolina, suggests proximity to the natural landscapes of the region, potentially including rolling hills, wooded areas, and the nearby Pilot Knob Park. Local RV owners might appreciate the opportunity to camp in a visually appealing setting that offers a respite from urban environments. The emphasis on well-maintained grounds further indicates a commitment to the aesthetic appeal of the park, contributing to a potentially enjoyable outdoor experience.
Services and Amenities: Spotless Facilities and Straightforward Check-in, but Potential Management Concerns:
In terms of services and amenities, Greystone RV Park receives positive feedback for the cleanliness of its facilities. The bathhouse is described as "spotless," which is a crucial factor for RVers seeking comfortable and hygienic amenities. The check-in process is also noted as "simple & straight forward," with owners replying promptly with RV park rules and directions. This suggests an efficient and organized initial experience for guests. The park also offers online check-in, adding to the convenience for those searching for "RV Parks Near Me" with user-friendly processes.
However, the positive aspects of the facilities and check-in are significantly tempered by concerns raised about the camp host's management style. One lengthy and detailed review paints a picture of overly strict and intrusive behavior, with the camp host being described as "parking lot police" who "nit pick our every move" and made guests feel "uncomfortable" and "watched." This reviewer also mentioned that two other families at the park shared similar experiences. Specific incidents included immediate and seemingly unnecessary enforcement of parking rules upon arrival, even before guests had fully exited their vehicles, and chastisement for using a gate code provided by the owner. The reviewer also noted inconsistencies in rule enforcement, observing the camp host violating parking rules at her own site. Furthermore, the continuous smoking by the camp host near guest sites was reported as detracting from the outdoor experience.
The availability of only 10 RV slots on the property, as mentioned in one review, might also be a factor for local RVers to consider regarding availability and the potential for a more intimate but possibly more closely managed environment.
Features: Spacious Sites and a Quiet Atmosphere, but Management Style Dominates Feedback:
Features of Greystone RV Park that receive positive mention include "graciously spacious" RV slots and a "very quiet & relaxing" atmosphere. These are desirable qualities for many RVers seeking a comfortable and peaceful stay within the "RV Parks Near Me" category. The spacious sites would allow for easier maneuvering and setup, as well as more outdoor living space. The quiet environment would appeal to those looking for a tranquil retreat.
Despite these appealing features, the overwhelming focus of the detailed review is on the negative interactions with the camp host. The perception of being constantly watched and subjected to strict, seemingly arbitrary enforcement of rules appears to have significantly detracted from the overall experience for multiple guests. This suggests that while the physical features of the park may be excellent, the management style, at least during the period of the reviews, was a major concern for some visitors.
Promotional Information and Reasons for Caution for Local RVers:
While Greystone RV Park boasts beautiful grounds, spotless facilities, and spacious sites, local RVers searching "RV Parks Near Me" must be aware of the significant concerns raised regarding the camp host's management style. Consider the following points:
- Beautiful and Well-Maintained Grounds: Enjoy a visually appealing and meticulously kept environment.
- Spotless Bathhouse: Benefit from clean and hygienic restroom facilities.
- Spacious RV Sites: Appreciate the extra room and comfort offered by the generously sized slots.
- Quiet and Relaxing Atmosphere: Experience a peaceful and tranquil camping environment (potentially disrupted by camp host interactions).
- Straightforward Check-in: Enjoy a simple and efficient arrival process.
However, also consider the reported negative aspects:
- Overzealous and Intrusive Camp Host: Be prepared for potentially strict and uncomfortable levels of scrutiny and rule enforcement.
- Inconsistent Rule Enforcement: Note the reported discrepancies in how rules are applied to different individuals.
- Potential for Unpleasant Interactions: Be aware of the possibility of negative encounters with the camp host regarding minor issues.
- Smoking by Camp Host: If sensitive to cigarette smoke, be aware that the camp host reportedly smoked outside her trailer.
Recommendations for Local RV Users Considering Greystone RV Park:
For local RV owners exploring "RV Parks Near Me" and considering Greystone RV Park, it is strongly recommended to:
- Read the Detailed Review Carefully: Understand the specific concerns raised by a recent long-term visitor.
- Look for More Recent Reviews: Check if there are any updates regarding the camp host situation or changes in management.
- Contact the Owners Directly: Inquire about the current management and whether any steps have been taken to address the concerns raised in the reviews. Express your preferences for a relaxed and less intrusive camping experience.
- Consider the Length of Your Stay: Short stays might be less impacted by an overbearing host than longer visits.
- Weigh the Importance of Management Style: Determine how crucial a relaxed and trusting atmosphere is to your overall camping enjoyment. If you prioritize minimal interaction and a hands-off approach from park management, Greystone RV Park, based on recent feedback, might not be the best fit.
- Have Clear Understanding of Park Rules: Ensure you are fully aware of all park rules upon arrival to minimize potential for misunderstandings.
In conclusion, Greystone RV Park in Pinnacle, NC, appears to be a facility with excellent physical attributes, offering beautiful grounds, clean amenities, and spacious sites in a potentially scenic and quiet location. However, the significant concerns raised in a detailed recent review regarding an overzealous and intrusive camp host cannot be ignored by local RVers searching for "RV Parks Near Me." Potential visitors should carefully weigh the positive aspects of the park's environment and facilities against the reported negative experiences with management before making a booking decision. It is highly recommended to seek more current information and directly communicate with the owners to ascertain the current management situation and ensure it aligns with your expectations for a comfortable and enjoyable RV camping experience.

Greystone RV Park Reviews
What an amazing facility! Totally exceeded our expectations. If we weren’t planning on selling our RV, we would definitely be back. Grounds were beautiful, bathhouse spotless, just a first class experience all around.Had a chance to meet Charity and she was an awesome host. Thanks for everything.
Jul 21, 2024 · Michael MaduskeI have been battling cancer for four years & was very excited to get outdoors after being bed ridden for 60 days from a recent surgery. Have camped at this facility twice. Once during COVID in 2022 & again in late Summer of 2024. There was NO camp host during our first stay & we incurred NO problems I would really love to give this facility 5 stars for the view and facilities alone. but for the following I must rate it a strong 2. Check-in online is simple & straight forward. Owners reply promptly with RV park rules and directions. Upon arrival & being granted access through the gate after calling the owner, we were told to pull forward to the bathhouse. The owner greeted us and gave me an envelope & told me to open it & see which slot I was given. I found this very peculiar considering there are only 10 RV slots on property. I was then instructed to follow the camp host, whom was standing in front of my tow vehicle. Upon parking my 5th wheel in slot #5 the camp host informed me that she is from Charleston, SC & is a seasonal visitor due to her husband's work and that her camper was next door to ours. Because of my illness, my wife set up the trailer under my guidance. The park host came over immediately & told us that our water hose was leaking & needed to be repaired. After repair to the hose, I sat down to enjoy the view & my friend arrived w/ his trailer & parked in the slot beside us. He immediately approached me & commented about the peculiar incident of being told to open his envelope instead of simply being handed the camp rules/wifi pamphlet & parking pass & being accosted by the camp host (parking lot police) about park rules before he was even allowed to exit his vehicle.. We finally get settled & are sitting outdoors enjoying the view & immediately smelled cigarette smoke which ruined the outdoor experience. Upon inspection, it was the camp host smoking outside her trailer. This smoking continued throughout our stay. The next day we had guest arrive, which I informed the owner was joining us four days prior to our arrival. The owner said it was fine and asked us to just have them park there car in guest parking. The guest arrived & used my gate code to enter the gate. As soon as they pulled in front of my 5th wheel the camp host hurriedly approached their car and approached their drivers side door before they exited. She immediately accosted my friend and chastised him for using my gate code & that he could not park at our trailer and would have to park in guest parking. We were fine with parking in the guest parking space but were very perplexed as to why he had to park there considering each camp slot has two parking spaces each. Upon further inspection, I noticed & took pictures of the camp host's (parking lot police) camping slot having two cars parked at her site. Different rules for different people I deducted. At this point I was fed up with the camp host (parking lot police) of nit picking our every move since arrivall and accosting us with her accusations. I told her sternly but politely that I did not appreciate being under a microscope and would prefer to be left alone so I may enjoy my camping experience. For our entire stay the camp host (parking lot police) would patrol on foot or in her car & watching everyone. Two other families at the park approached us & enquired if we were having trouble with the camp host (parking lot police) as well. They both said they felt like their every move was being watched & that it made them uncomfortable. In conclusion, I rate the facility a five. The grounds are immaculately maintained, the campground is very quiet & relaxing, the slots are graciously spacious, the bathhouse is clean and well provided & the check-in process is simple and straight forward. But an overzealous camp host (parking lot police) ruined the beautiful facility , view & stay because of her obvious lack of common sense & boredom from lack of more pertinent duties and tasks. We will not return until we are confident the camp host has departed back South.
Sep 08, 2024 · Mike DrymanWe loved staying at Greystone! Amazing views and accommodations. Clean, friendly, and secure . It’s like camping in the beautiful landscape of Gods country with a spectacular view of Pilot Mountain. Would recommend and can’t wait to come back.
Jul 16, 2024 · Jessica HeinzerGreat view of Pilot Mountain from each of the 10 campsites. Quiet, surrounded by spacious fields. Concrete level pads, well maintained, handsome landscaping, easy to get to from highway, easy for large rigs. Sites mostly seem a bit larger than a KOA-style campground. Owner Charity was very accommodating. We'll be back!
Jun 21, 2023 · Phyllis GouldThis is a small, but very delightful, RV park. The sites are concrete and pull through with plenty of room for our 40' 5th wheel and F450. The grounds and shower house/laundry are immaculate. The owners are vigilant and enforce the rules with kindness. There is a gate for added security, but the area near the park is very nice. Be sure to check out downtown Pilot Mountain, JoLo Winery and restaurant, and of course, Pilot Mountain State Park which provides the gorgeous view from your RV. Lots of great hikes for all abilities, or just drive to the summit and enjoy the panoramic view. Be sure to follow the recommended directions, and take the Pinnacle exit off 52. Don't follow your GPS if it tells you to exit at Pilot Mountain Park. The trees on the road to the park from that direction are not trimmed. There are a lot of low hanging branches that will damage your RV! Highly recommended RV park!
