We encountered an issue with our truck upon arrival and they went beyond to try and help. The campground is clean, restrooms are clean and stocked, delicious ice cream at Mrs kitties. Food at the saloon is also tasty and very generously priced considering we are far from nearest towns. We hope to be back very soon.
Sep 07, 2024 · Claudia CStayed in one of the cabins for a few nights. The particular cabin we stayed in was one of the oldest ones on the property but it was fine. I wasn’t expecting a high end luxury experience anyway. The cabin had a couple of bunks in the hallway across from the bathroom and there was a master bedroom, kitchen and living room with a futon. There were only 4 of us which was perfect. Any more than that in this particular cabin would have been pretty crowded.Drummer Steve and Jennifer at the front gate were great! We arrived late in the evening and Steve came up to the gate right away to check us in and give us our keys. Both of them were very helpful during our stay. The breakfast at the Saloon was excellent. We had a great time playing pool and ski ball one of the nights that we were there. We went during the week which didn’t allow us to join in any of their activities. Almost all of their activities are set up for weekend only. Would be nice to have a mid-week activity for people to interact. The best part about this place is its general location in the Sierras. About 45 minutes to Bassi Falls which is a moderate hike and amazing when it’s flowing, 15 minutes to Sly Park which was an absolute blast! If you go to Sly Park, drive ALL the way to the back of the park and take a super easy 1 mile hike to the falls. Great payoff for an easy beautiful hike. One hour or so from South Lake Tahoe which we visited during our stay. South Lake Tahoe has a plethora of things to do that fit almost anyone’s desire. There are also so many other places nearby that we didn’t have time to see.Was a GREAT time with the family! We will definitely make this a yearly or a couple times a year destination!
Sep 15, 2024 · Nilton SilveiraThis is a private "camping membership" camping park. They were offering up to 4 nights and all you had to do was listen to their membership sales presentation. We did not sign up for a membership as it seemed expensive and and we determined that we wouldn't use it often enough to warrant the cost. We visited on a late October weekend. It is a "ranch" with pool & hot tub, old western town, activities, cafeteria, lots of trails, etc. This park is geared towards active families with children. The membership also includes access to the companies other resorts/parks along the lower Colorado near Havasue. Our rating on this particular campground is:It has potential but needs improvement to infrastructure, such as buildings, roads, rv pads, fences, signage, etc. This resort is not ADA friendly due to gravel, potholes, steep slopes, etc.Good location, beautiful well managed forest which buts up to Eldorado National Forest. It is not too far off main road so it's close to supplies. The camping near the front end near the pool is pretty crowded and rv spots tight. Thus a little noisy with the social buzz of activities. The back end rv spots are a little more spaced and near tent camping hill, and trails into the forest. Since it is farther away from the hub, it is less crowded and quieter. There is a RV dump station but no sewer hookup at any sites. We enjoyed the 'saloon' (no alcohol sold) where one could watch sports, listen to karaoke, or a DJ, or band. They serve food there till 7 or 8 pm. The saloon area is the wifi spot as well. Miss Kitty has a ice cream shop next door for a good sugar fix. The trails into the forest was a nice walk but you are headed down slope so the walk back is uphill. The forest trails can be accessed by foot, any OHV, horse or bike. In the busy summer camping season there would be much going on. There are no wood fires allowed ever. Cell service was fair, wifi not so much. There are a number of resident employees in the RV park; some with too much personal stuff stored outside. Took away from aesthetics of the facility.Overall one could have a enjoyable time here if you weren't looking for piece and quiet. Families would probably have a blast with all the activities to do. It is in a beautiful area so day trips offer more possible adventures.
