Glenwood, 55+ Lifestyle Manufactured Home Community Introduce
If you are exploring "RV parks near me" in the Marysville, Washington area with an interest in a 55+ manufactured home community, Glenwood, located at 5900 64th St NE, Marysville, WA 98270, USA, presents itself as an option. Interested individuals can contact the community at (360) 614-5471 or +1 360-614-5471 for inquiries. Based on available reviews, Glenwood has experienced changes in management that have impacted the resident experience. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview of the community based on the provided feedback, covering aspects of the environment, services, features, and costs.
A Community in Transition: Environment and Initial Impressions
One long-term resident, having lived in Glenwood for over five years, initially described it as a "great place" under previous family ownership, noting their appreciation for the tenants. This suggests that the initial environment of Glenwood fostered a positive living experience. Another resident who recently purchased a home in the community also speaks positively of the neighbors and the clubhouse, indicating that some aspects of the community environment remain appealing.
However, the same long-term resident notes a shift in the community's environment and amenities under newer management. This suggests that while the physical location and some of the residents contribute to a sense of community, certain aspects of the living experience have changed, potentially impacting the overall satisfaction for some.
Changes in Services and Amenities Under New Management
Several significant changes in services and amenities have been reported by a long-term resident. One notable change is the elimination of RV parking. Previously, residents with RVs were able to store them within the park, but this amenity was discontinued approximately three years ago, with residents being told that new units would be placed in those areas. As of the time of the review, no such development had occurred, leaving former RV parking spaces unused.
Another significant change involves water and related utilities. Previously included in the monthly rent, water is now billed separately, along with new charges for stormwater, sewer, and yard waste. The combined cost of these new charges reportedly amounts to over $100 per month, representing a substantial increase in the overall cost of living for residents.
Overflow parking, which was previously available and considered a "huge +" for households with multiple vehicles, has also been eliminated. This has resulted in approximately 20 parking spaces that were once designated for overflow now remaining consistently empty, creating inconvenience for residents with more than two vehicles.
The community dog park has also received negative feedback. The use of cedar chips as ground cover is reported to cause splinters, and the park lacks essential amenities such as water for the dogs and shade, potentially limiting its usability and safety.
Features and Community Aspects
Despite the reported reduction in some amenities and increased costs, some positive features of Glenwood remain. One resident who recently moved in highlighted the "grate" neighbors and the comfortable clubhouse, which serves as a place to meet new friends. The reviewer mentioned joining the wood carving club and being invited to a "Monday Morning Coffee," indicating that social activities and a sense of community exist within Glenwood.
The long-term resident who expressed concerns about the management changes still gave the park two stars, explicitly stating that this was due to the "best people in the world" living there. The strong sense of neighborly support and socialization among residents appears to be a significant positive aspect of the Glenwood community.
The clubhouse is mentioned as a comfortable place for social interaction, suggesting that it serves as a central hub for community activities and gatherings. This can be a valuable feature for a 55+ community, fostering social connections and a sense of belonging among residents.
Financial Considerations and Restrictions
Financial aspects are a significant concern for the long-term resident. The rent is reportedly increasing by 10% per year, and new occupants are starting at a monthly rent of over $1,000. This escalating cost, combined with the new utility charges, can create a substantial financial burden, particularly for residents on a fixed income, which is common in a 55+ community.
The reviewer advises potential residents on a fixed income to ensure their monthly income exceeds $2,500 to comfortably cover living expenses at Glenwood. This highlights the importance of carefully considering the total cost of living, including rent and all utilities.
Furthermore, a concerning restriction regarding service animals has been reported: they are allegedly banned from the clubhouse. This policy could significantly impact residents who rely on service animals for assistance and may be a point of concern for potential residents with disabilities.
Promotional Information and Recommendations
Based on the provided reviews, there is no explicit promotional information available for Glenwood, 55+ Lifestyle Manufactured Home Community. However, potential local users considering this community should weigh the positive aspects, such as the strong sense of community and the comfortable clubhouse, against the reported negative changes, including the loss of RV parking and overflow parking, the new and increasing utility costs, the condition of the dog park, and the alleged restriction on service animals in the clubhouse.
For local users seeking a 55+ manufactured home community ("RV parks near me" offering this type of housing), Glenwood may still hold appeal due to its established community of residents. However, it is crucial for prospective residents to conduct thorough due diligence. This should include contacting the management at (360) 614-5471 or +1 360-614-5471 to verify the current amenities, costs (including rent, utilities, and any additional fees), and policies, particularly those concerning pets and service animals. Visiting the community in person to assess the environment, the condition of the facilities, and the layout of the lots is also highly recommended.
Potential residents should also inquire about the reasons behind the changes in management and policies, as well as any future plans for the community, such as the development of the former RV parking areas. Understanding the long-term vision for Glenwood can help prospective residents make an informed decision about whether it aligns with their lifestyle and financial needs.
In conclusion, Glenwood, 55+ Lifestyle Manufactured Home Community in Marysville, WA, offers a community atmosphere that is valued by its residents. However, significant changes under new management, particularly regarding amenities and costs, should be carefully considered by potential residents. Direct communication with the management and a personal visit to the community are essential steps in evaluating whether Glenwood is the right fit for individual needs and preferences in a 55+ living environment.

Glenwood, 55+ Lifestyle Manufactured Home Community Reviews
I’ve lived in this park for over 5 years, what a great place when I moved in. The park was owned by a family that appreciated their tenants. (If you look at my review from that time period, I gave this park 5 stars.)The newer management company has taken away most of the financial good things in this park. There is no longer RV parking; three years ago we had to find a new place to store our rig, we were told new units would be going into those areas. Nothing has been done with them.Water is no longer a part of the monthly rent; water itself isn’t bad, but they’ve added storm water, sewer and yard waste, the combination of the four new charges amounts to $100+ a month. We no longer have overflow parking, which was a huge + for people that have three vehicles, (2 cars and a pickup in our household) that means that there are 20+ parking spaces previously designated as overflow parking are always empty all the time. The dog park they put in is a joke; cedar chips that splinter, no water available for dogs, and no shade. The rent is going up 10% per year. New occupants are start at over $1,000 per month. Service animals have been banned from the club house. If you are on a fixed income (most of us are), make sure that income is over $2,500 per month, to give yourself enough income to take care of your other expenses. The only reason I gave this park 2 stars, some the best people in the world live here, they watch out for each other, socialize with all. It would be hard to leave these wonderful people.
