The environment surrounding Hickory Hills Mobile Home Community offers a blend of accessibility and a less dense living arrangement. Situated on Old Birmingham Highway (likely near or with access to Highway 216), the community benefits from relatively easy access to transportation routes. Cottondale itself is a smaller community within Tuscaloosa County, offering a more rural feel while still being within convenient driving distance to the amenities and opportunities of Tuscaloosa. One reviewer noted that "besides the traffic from highway 216 it is a quiet and nice place to live," indicating that while there might be some noise due to the proximity of the highway, the overall atmosphere within the community is perceived as peaceful. This suggests a trade-off between accessibility and tranquility that potential residents should weigh based on their preferences.
Regarding services and features, Hickory Hills Mobile Home Community presents itself as "Not you typical 'trailer park'," according to one reviewer. This implies a different layout and possibly different standards compared to some other mobile home parks. A significant feature mentioned is that "The trailers are spread out and you have plenty of yard in which you are responsible for keeping up to par yourself." This suggests larger, more private lots, offering residents the benefit of outdoor space and the responsibility of its maintenance. This could be appealing to those who value having a yard and the autonomy to manage it. While specific utility provisions (water, sewer, electricity) are not detailed in the reviews, it is standard for mobile home parks to offer these connections. Prospective residents should inquire about the costs and billing procedures for these services directly with the management.
Further insights into the features of Hickory Hills can be gleaned from the customer reviews. The spacious lots and individual yard maintenance indicate a degree of independence and privacy for residents. The comment about being "spread out" suggests that the community might not feel as crowded as some other mobile home park settings. The reviewer also mentions that "Lot rent on the cheaper side as well!" This affordability can be a significant advantage for those seeking cost-effective housing options in the area. However, another reviewer, working as a delivery driver, pointed out a potential challenge with navigation within the park, stating that "Numbers are very small and hard to see." While this doesn't directly impact the living experience of residents, it suggests that the layout or the way lots are numbered might be somewhat confusing or not clearly marked. This is a minor inconvenience but worth noting.
The customer reviews offer a mixed but generally positive initial impression of Hickory Hills Mobile Home Community. The positive review emphasizes the quiet and nice living environment, the spacious lots, the resident's responsibility for yard upkeep, and the more affordable lot rent. This paints a picture of a community that offers a degree of privacy and value. The negative review, while acknowledging that "The people are not the problem" and that "It seems like a nice place," highlights a practical issue with the visibility of lot numbers, which could make navigation for visitors or delivery services difficult. This suggests that while the community itself might be pleasant, there could be areas for improvement in terms of signage and infrastructure.
Promotional information is not explicitly available in the provided data. Mobile home communities may sometimes offer incentives such as reduced rent for a certain period, discounts on security deposits, or other move-in specials to attract new residents. To find out if Hickory Hills Mobile Home Community is currently offering any promotions, it is essential to contact their management directly. Inquire about any special deals for new residents or any other incentives that might be available.
In conclusion, Hickory Hills Mobile Home Community in Cottondale, Alabama, appears to offer a unique living experience compared to a "typical 'trailer park'" with its spacious lots, individual yard responsibility, and reportedly more affordable lot rent. The community is generally perceived as quiet and nice, although potential residents should be aware of possible traffic noise from the nearby highway. A minor drawback seems to be the potentially challenging navigation due to small and hard-to-see lot numbers. For those seeking a less crowded, more independent living arrangement with yard space and affordability in mind, Hickory Hills could be a viable option when searching for "RV parks near me" for long-term stays. It is recommended to contact the management directly to inquire about current availability, specific services and features, and any ongoing promotions. Visiting the community might also provide a better sense of the layout and the overall environment.

My mother-in-law lives there and besides the traffic from highway 216 it is a quiet and nice place to live! Not you typical “trailer park”. The trailers are spread out and you have plenty of yard in which you are responsible for keeping up to par yourself. Lot rent on the cheaper side as well!
