Lamplighter/Los Coches Manufactured Home Community, located at 13450 I-8BL, Lakeside, CA 92040, USA, and reachable by phone at (619) 443-7811 or +1 619-443-7811, presents itself as a potential option for those seeking long-term RV or manufactured home living. As a community listed under the category of "RV parks near me," it's important to consider the available information to form an objective understanding of what it offers.
Based on recent customer reviews, the experience of living at Lamplighter/Los Coches Manufactured Home Community appears to be evolving. One long-term resident, identifying as a current resident, expresses concerns about the aging infrastructure of the 50-year-old community, citing increasing infrastructure failures annually. This review also mentions a perceived reduction in management support, including limited managing hours, reduced clubhouse availability, and inadequate maintenance of common areas, grounds, streets, perimeter walls, tree maintenance, and dry brush buildup. The absence of an on-site assistant manager and the manager's limited weekday hours are also noted. Furthermore, this resident highlights issues with gopher infestations causing landscaping damage, a lack of ADA compliance for main park amenities, security concerns due to poor lighting, the absence of playground facilities for a community described as a family park, and erosion issues due to denied water for embankments. The review also mentions a solar setup that has yet to become operational after a year and multiple pool closures due to improper maintenance. This resident concludes by expressing disappointment with the community's decline and not recommending purchasing a home there.
In contrast, another reviewer, who states they live in space 53 with their mother, expresses a positive experience. This reviewer praises the new manager, Michelle, for her work in upgrading the community, including new areas and a planned playground. They consider Lamplighter/Los Coches to be one of the nicest and cleanest communities in East County, highlighting the manager's positive interpersonal skills and understanding, and giving the community a 10/10 recommendation.
The contrasting reviews suggest a period of transition and potential improvement under new management. For individuals searching for "RV parks near me" in Lakeside, it is crucial to consider both perspectives. The concerns raised by the long-term resident regarding infrastructure, maintenance, and management availability are significant factors to evaluate. Conversely, the positive feedback about the new manager and ongoing upgrades, including the development of a playground, indicate a potential positive shift in the community's trajectory.
When considering Lamplighter/Los Coches as one of the "RV parks near me," prospective residents should inquire about the current status of the infrastructure, maintenance protocols, security measures, and the timeline for planned improvements, such as the playground. It would also be beneficial to understand the management's current operating hours and availability. For those with specific needs, such as ADA accessibility, verifying the compliance of park amenities is essential.
The presence of both positive and negative recent feedback underscores the importance of direct engagement and inquiry. Potential residents might consider visiting the community to assess the current environment and speak with current residents, if possible, to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the living conditions and management responsiveness. Given that the community is described as a family park by one reviewer despite the lack of a playground mentioned by another, clarifying the demographics and suitability for families with children would also be advisable.
For those specifically seeking "RV parks near me" for long-term stays, factors such as lot sizes, utility hookups, and community rules and regulations are also important considerations. Inquiring about these aspects directly with the management would provide essential information for making an informed decision.
In conclusion, Lamplighter/Los Coches Manufactured Home Community in Lakeside, CA, presents a mixed picture based on recent reviews. While a long-term resident expresses concerns about infrastructure and management, a more recent review highlights positive changes under new management, including ongoing upgrades and a planned playground. For those searching for "RV parks near me," thorough due diligence, including direct inquiries with the management and potentially current residents, is recommended to assess whether this community meets their individual needs and expectations. Considering both the potential challenges and the reported improvements will be key in making an informed decision about this option among the "RV parks near me" in the Lakeside area.

Lamplighter/Los Coches Manufactured Home Community Reviews
**I am a current resident of the park** This community is 50 years old and it shows. We have multiple infrastructure failures each year which are increasing each year. Management has reduced their managing hours, clubhouse availability, proper maintenance of common area grounds, streets, perimeter walls, tree maintenance and dry brush buildup. There is no longer an on-site assistant manager and the manager does not work on weekends or after 3pm during the week. The park is plagued with massive gopher destruction throughout the entire park. Causing costly landscaping damage upon residents as a result of their failure to maintain and effectively erradicate the pests from vacant land and non resident areas. Instead they put the responsibility and cost of treatment upon its residents to attempt to cure the problem. The main park amenities have not been handicap updated and are not ADA compliant for handicapped persons. There is no security and poor lighting at night has encouraged thefts and vagrants. This is a family park with no playground or facilities for kids to play at. Embankments have been denied water causing hill stabilizing and erosion issues to become dangerous and unsightly. Management however has made a huge investment in solar setup to further increase their profits, which after one year now is still not up and running. There have been multiple closures of the pool area due to improper pool & spa treatments as there is no professional pool company balancing & cleaning pool and spa. Management has updated and added all kinds of unreasonable rules and expectations. If I would have known the path and decline of this community 21 years ago, I would have purchased a brand new home in a better staffed and maintained park. I do not recommend buying a home in this park.
Nov 13, 2023 · Karen DaffronMe and my mom live in spc 53 and we love living here. The new manager Michelle is great. She really put in work in the whole community, upgrade new areas and currently working on a playground for our community. I been to many trailer parks (visiting friends and family) and ours is definitely one of the nicest/ cleanest in east county. She is really good with people and understanding.Recommend this place to call it home 10/10.
May 02, 2024 · Jessica FloresI would completely recommend this park! There are a few people here that think they should run the place, but they're NOT equipped to handle it. Yes, there are items that are being worked on in stages and it WILL take some time to make it all perfect. Just like in real life, infrastructure needs to be improved. I've been here for over 5 years and I looked at a lot of places before moved in. This is by far the BEST place out there... You will always have someone complain, because that's how they are in life. Not to point out anyone in particular, but this place is very well kept. The pictures of the "overgrown" shrubs, grass, etc., are like this because of the upgrades being done, and equipment storage. I say, if you don't like it here, MOVE OUT! We want only nice people in this park, not bullies! My 2 cents... FYI, the manager is great! She always listens to our concerns. Maybe it's because we don't constantly complain? Hmmm (my opinion).
Nov 08, 2023 · Vince Giordano (Blaze)Owner is reluctant to proactively make much needed repairs. They are also reluctant to reinvest profits of their $1.4 million in profits to modernize and update this 50 year old park. The park has deteriorated significantly in the last 10 years. Residents have seen their rents go up year after year while the overall condition of the community has declined. As a result of not maintaining the park properly, residents homes, property and lives were put at risk of fire due to massive dry brush buildup. The fire marshal had to get involved after owner & management refused to respond to resident concerns over the matter. The abatement took about 6 months as they failed to hire appropriate help to complete the work quicker.
Nov 09, 2023 · Richard DaffronI have friends at the park, and they have been residents for a few decades. I have visited the park many times. The parking and lighting are major problems. There are inadequate spaces and poor lighting in the complex to park my vehicle at night. It is a major safety hazard for me as I have to find a spot and usually it's in a dark area. I am a senior citizen and require safe parking and adequate lighting to avoid stumbling and falling.I've tripped many times parking with the inadequate lighting.
