Longmeadow Mobile Home Community Introduce
Welcome to Longmeadow Mobile Home Community, a residential haven nestled in the charming town of Maylene, Alabama. If you're searching for 'RV parks near me' with a focus on long-term living and a strong sense of community, Longmeadow offers a unique opportunity to establish a comfortable and peaceful home.
Located at 27 Bluebird Dr, Maylene, AL 35114, USA, Longmeadow Mobile Home Community presents itself as a quiet and pleasant neighborhood. Based on feedback from long-term residents, the community has historically fostered a welcoming atmosphere with friendly neighbors. The property has been noted for its well-maintained grounds, contributing to the overall appeal and quality of life within the park.
For those considering making Longmeadow their home, it’s important to understand the evolving nature of the community. While initially under the ownership of individuals who fostered a certain environment, the park was sold to a larger company a few months after at least one long-term resident moved in. This transition in ownership has brought about several changes that prospective residents should be aware of.
One significant change reported by residents is the adjustment in the billing structure for essential utilities. Previously included in the lot rent, water and garbage services are now the responsibility of individual residents, representing an additional monthly expense to factor into the overall cost of living. This shift is a common practice in many larger mobile home communities, allowing for more direct control over individual usage but requiring careful budgeting by residents.
Another aspect to consider is the management structure. While Longmeadow benefits from the presence of a dedicated maintenance man and property manager who are reportedly helpful, the on-site office is not staffed daily. This means that direct, in-person transactions or immediate assistance at the office may not always be available. Rent payments, for instance, are now primarily handled online or via mail to the corporate office, eliminating the option of dropping off a check at a local office. This system emphasizes digital and remote transactions, which may be convenient for some but could pose a challenge for those who prefer in-person interactions.
Over time, Longmeadow Mobile Home Community has also introduced a set of community rules aimed at maintaining a consistent aesthetic and ensuring the upkeep of the properties. One specific rule mentioned by a resident pertains to exterior buildings such as sheds, which are now required to match the resident's mobile home in terms of appearance. Such regulations are often implemented in residential communities to promote visual harmony and maintain property values. Prospective residents should inquire about the full list of community rules and regulations to ensure they align with their preferences and lifestyle.
Furthermore, a significant infrastructure project was undertaken a few years ago involving the paving of residents' driveways. However, feedback suggests that the quality of the materials and workmanship may not have met expectations. According to a resident, the "shoddy, cheap asphalt" has deteriorated over time, resulting in a driveway surface that is now considered to be in worse condition than the original gravel. This experience highlights the importance of understanding the ongoing maintenance and infrastructure development plans within the community.
Financially, it is crucial for potential residents to be aware of the trend in lot rent adjustments. Multiple increases in lot rent have been reported over the past few years. While rent increases are not uncommon in mobile home communities due to various economic factors, it is essential to inquire about the current lot rent, the history of increases, and any potential future adjustments to ensure affordability and long-term financial planning.
Despite these changes and considerations, Longmeadow Mobile Home Community still holds the fundamental appeal of a quiet and pleasant residential environment. The sense of community, while potentially evolving with the change in ownership, remains a valuable aspect for many residents. The well-maintained grounds continue to contribute to the overall attractiveness of the park.
For individuals and families seeking a long-term living solution in the Maylene area, Longmeadow Mobile Home Community offers a established setting with the potential for a comfortable lifestyle. Its location provides convenient access to the amenities and services of Maylene and the surrounding areas. While specific amenities within the park are not detailed in the provided information, it is advisable for interested parties to inquire about any on-site facilities such as community centers, playgrounds, or green spaces that may enhance the living experience.
To gain a comprehensive understanding of Longmeadow Mobile Home Community, prospective residents are encouraged to contact the management directly at (205) 663-0572 or +1 205-663-0572. Visiting the community in person can provide valuable insights into the current environment, the condition of the grounds, and the overall atmosphere. It is also recommended to inquire about the current lot rent, utility billing procedures, community rules and regulations, and any ongoing or planned maintenance and infrastructure projects.
In conclusion, Longmeadow Mobile Home Community in Maylene, AL, presents a residential option for those seeking a quieter pace of life within a community setting. While changes in ownership and operational procedures have occurred, the fundamental aspects of a well-maintained property and a sense of neighborhood remain. By conducting thorough due diligence and gathering current information, potential residents can make an informed decision about whether Longmeadow Mobile Home Community aligns with their housing needs and preferences within the context of 'RV parks near me' that cater to long-term stays.

Longmeadow Mobile Home Community Reviews
I've lived here for 3.5 years. It's a quiet, pleasant neighborhood for the most part. Neighbors are nice and the property is well maintained. The original owners sold out to a large company a few months after I moved in. Lot rent has increased and we now have to pay for our own water and garbage. There's a nice maintenance man/property manager, but nobody in the office every day. Rent has to be paid online or mailed to corporate, we can no longer just drop a check off at the office. Lots of rules have been introduced, like exterior buildings (sheds, etc.) having to "match" your trailer. They hired someone a few years ago to "pave" everyone's driveway. The result was shoddy, cheap asphalt that has worn and crumbled away and looks far worse than the gravel we had before.
May 22, 2024 · Jennifer Wendtlot rent has been raised 3 times atleast since I moved in 2 1/2 years ago
Dec 29, 2024 · Megan SteinI lived here for 2 years and loved it. It’s a very nice and quiet community. I never had issues with anything or anyone (except a little kid at the bus stop but it was handled quickly and efficiently) It’s mainly older retired folks and that was fine by me. If you’re looking to be loud and obnoxious and cause issues, I suggest you try somewhere else. The person who made the review about it not having kid stuff or whatever, this isn’t a playground or amusement park. There are plenty of parks nearby. They don’t have that because it’s a liability they didn’t want. I do wish they would have added in some tornado shelters. I still have family living here and if anything ever changed and I needed somewhere to move to, I would move back here in a flash.
Jun 10, 2022 · r lankfordWe have really enjoyed living in Longmeadow. It is not like a trailer park it is a mobile home park. It is well supervised and maintained. However, there are some people that need to learn and live by the rules of the park. It is a pleasant place to live comfortably. Any time we have had a problem the managers/owners have always been eager to help and pleasant to work with.
Jan 25, 2019 · Cathy DuckworthRent hikes often. Horrible company did the paving and the driveways are poir quality. Water is off often with no warning. Was allowed to have a pool when I moved in but under new ownership it's now not allowed. I have health issues and rely on the pool for pain relief as well as excercise. We are now looking for land to move.
