MARCH RESERVE AFB, FamCamp RV Park. Introduce
For those searching for "RV parks near me" in the vicinity of March Air Reserve Base in California, the MARCH RESERVE AFB FamCamp RV Park, located at 1870 Graeber St, March Air Reserve Base, CA 92518, USA, offers a convenient option with full hookups. This RV park caters to recreational vehicles and provides a range of amenities for a comfortable stay, although it's important to note some of the surrounding environment and operational procedures based on customer reviews.
MARCH RESERVE AFB FamCamp RV Park offers both pull-through and back-in spots, providing flexibility for different sizes and types of RVs. For those concerned about connectivity, the park reportedly has good Verizon and T-Mobile service, ensuring that guests can stay connected during their visit. The laundry room is highlighted as being clean, and the prices are considered reasonable, which is a significant convenience for travelers needing to take care of laundry while on the road.
However, one reviewer notes that "the area is a little run down and there is nothing to do." This suggests that while the RV park itself may offer the necessary amenities, the immediate surroundings might lack attractions or entertainment options. This is a point to consider for those planning to explore the local area beyond the RV park itself.
Another guest who stayed for one night described their stay as "very quiet," which can be a significant draw for travelers seeking a peaceful night's rest. They also appreciated the cooler temperatures compared to Tucson, indicating that the location might offer a pleasant climate, at least during certain times of the year.
Operationally, it's crucial to understand that MARCH RESERVE AFB FamCamp RV Park operates on a "first-come, first served" basis. This means that reservations are not typically accepted, and travelers should plan accordingly, especially during peak seasons. The park is reported to be easy to find, and access for RVs is described as "fine."
The RV park features a mix of newer and older sites. The newer sites are located around the periphery of the camp and are back-in spots with concrete pads, few and small trees, and newer picnic tables. These newer sites likely offer a more level and modern setup. In contrast, the older sites are pull-through with gravel surfaces and picnic tables that are in need of replacement. However, the older pull-through sites benefit from having a few large trees, which can provide shade and a more established feel.
For RVers with larger rigs, one reviewer with a 37-foot Class A was able to stay in a pull-through site (site 16) and still had enough space to leave their Jeep JK Unlimited hooked up without exceeding the full length of the spot. This indicates that the pull-through sites can accommodate larger RVs comfortably. All sites, including the one mentioned, offer 30 and 50 AMP power, as well as water and sewer hookups, providing the full amenities needed for a comfortable stay.
The park has a "Camp 'Support Facility'" which is reportedly always open but is not always manned and is never manned on weekends. This suggests a degree of self-service, particularly outside of regular business hours. Check-in is described as "easy self check-in," with payment accepted via Visa and Mastercard only, using envelopes provided at the facility. The nightly rate ranges from $30 to $50, depending on the length of your stay, indicating a tiered pricing structure that may offer discounts for longer visits.
The Support Facility also houses washer and dryers for laundry needs and a small self-serve/pay convenience store. This store is reported to be well stocked with sodas, water, snacks, candy, and a limited selection of frozen snacks and meals, offering basic necessities and treats for travelers. While there are change machines in the laundry room, they were out of order during one reviewer's visit, so it might be wise to have some change on hand.
The facility also includes men's and ladies' restrooms. However, one reviewer noted difficulty in finding the door code for the restrooms, as it was not provided in the check-in paperwork or readily visible. This is a minor inconvenience that potential guests should be aware of and may need to inquire about upon arrival, especially if arriving outside of manned hours.
In addition to the main RV park, there are also overflow spots available in the parking lot just west of the park. These overflow spots offer full hookups and are priced at $25 per night. However, the rules stipulate that these overflow spots should only be used when there are no available sites within the main RV park. This provides an additional option during busy times but is intended as a secondary measure.
For those needing to empty their RV tanks, there is a dump station conveniently located right inside the entrance of the park. This makes the arrival and departure process smoother for RVers.
Given its location on March Air Reserve Base, it is likely that this FamCamp RV Park primarily caters to military personnel, retirees, and their families, although it may be open to the general public as well. Individuals planning to stay here should be prepared to adhere to any base regulations and be mindful of the military environment.
In conclusion, MARCH RESERVE AFB FamCamp RV Park offers a practical and convenient option for those seeking "RV parks near me" in the vicinity of March Air Reserve Base. It provides full hookups, laundry facilities, and a small convenience store. While the surrounding area may be somewhat limited in attractions, the park itself offers a quiet stay with a mix of site types to accommodate different RVs. The first-come, first-served policy and self-check-in process are important operational aspects to note, as is the payment method (Visa and Mastercard only). Potential guests should also be aware of the unheated pool and the need to potentially inquire about restroom access codes. For those with military affiliations or those simply needing a functional and quiet place to stay near the base, MARCH RESERVE AFB FamCamp RV Park offers a viable option.

RV park with full hookups, pull through or back in spots. Good Verizon and T mobile services. The laundry room is clean and prices are right. The area is a little run down and there is nothing to do.
Oct 03, 2024 · Kaja SWIEBOne night stay at the park. Our stay was very quiet, and the cooler temps were a welcome change from TucsonPark is first-come, first served. Easy to find, and access is fine. Newer sites around the periphery of the camp are back-in with concrete pads, few/new, small trees and newer picnic tables. Older sites are pull-through with gravel and picnic tables that need to be replaced. Pull-through sites had a few big trees. I was able to leave my JK Unlimited hooked up to my 37 foot Class A and not quite use the full length of the spot. 30 and 50 AMP power, water and sewer at our site (16), and I believe all of the sites. Camp "Support Facility" is always open, isn't always manned, and never manned on weekends. Easy self check-in, Visa and Mastercard only, via envelopes. $30 to $50 per night depending on the length of your stay. Facility has washer/dryers and a small self serve/pay convenience store that was well stocked with sodas, water, snacks, candy, and a limited selection of frozen snack and meals. There are change machines in the laundry, but both were inop during our visit. There are also a mens and ladies restrooms, but we couldn't find the door code anywhere, including the check-in paperwork. There are also overflow spots with full hook ups in the parking lot just west of the park. $25 night, but the rules are to only use overflow when there aren't any spots available in the park. There is also a dump station right inside the entrance.
Jun 08, 2024 · David CulbertsonGreat place. We just wish there was a reservation system instead of first come, first served.
Apr 21, 2025 · Denice Ornelaz-PerezApparently, this Famcamp used to be very nice. However, now it is unkept. The office is only open for 2 1/2 hours in the morning. The weeds are 2 feet high and even block the camp sign. After the other reviews, I read from previous years. I am very disappointed and will not return. They charge $30 a day for full hook ups,There is no Wi-Fi really even television Reception.Out of all of the military campgrounds I have stayed in the last nine months. This will last on my list. The Recreation people don’t seem to care.
May 30, 2024 · Ken PlumleyIt has changed so much since they got rid of the Famcamp host. They don’t water the grass and the prices have doubled this year. The place is rundown now. Very disappointing. They really need to do something about it if they’re going to charge $950 a month.
