McCammon RV Park Introduce
For RV travelers navigating through southeastern Idaho and utilizing "RV parks near me" to find a suitable stop, McCammon RV Park presents itself as a conveniently located option in McCammon, ID. Situated at 898 US-30, McCammon, ID 83250, USA, this park offers easy accessibility from major thoroughfares, making it a practical choice for those on the go. While its primary appeal lies in its convenience for overnight or short-term stays, it provides essential services for a comfortable experience.
The primary environmental advantage of McCammon RV Park is its exceptional accessibility. Located directly on US-30 and with "easy access from I-15," it's a strategic stop for travelers. This prime location minimizes detours and makes arrival and departure straightforward, which is highly valued by RVers, especially after a long day of driving. The park is described as being "right behind" the Chevron station, which also serves as the office, making check-in a simple process once this detail is known.
A notable environmental feature of the park is the presence of "nice views" from the sites located on the east side. This offers a pleasant backdrop for relaxation and enjoyment, adding to the overall appeal of a stay. While some areas of the park may have varying levels of grass maintenance – with comments mentioning some areas being "mowed" and others having "hip high" grass – the scenic views from certain spots remain a positive attribute. The park is also noted for being "Quiet except for occasional train whistle," which for many, like the reviewer who "love" it, adds to the charm of a rural setting rather than being a disturbance.
One potential environmental consideration for pet owners, however, is the presence of "terrible spiky stickers everywhere," which can be uncomfortable for dogs. This suggests that pet owners should be mindful of where their animals walk and potentially consider protective footwear for their pets if staying at the park.
McCammon RV Park offers the fundamental services expected of an RV park to ensure a functional stay. Guests have the flexibility to "chose your own spot," which can be a convenient feature for those arriving later or with specific site preferences. While not explicitly detailed, it's understood that the park provides essential hookups for RVs, given its classification as an RV park. For specific power (e.g., 30-amp, 50-amp), water, and sewer availability, direct inquiry with the park would be advisable.
A significant service highlight is the exceptional customer service from the attendant. One reviewer praised the attendant as "terrific," noting that "he stayed 30-min late to get us into the park plus he did a propane-bottle exchange for us." This level of helpfulness and going "above and beyond" speaks highly of the park's commitment to guest assistance, especially for late arrivals or those needing immediate services like propane. The convenience of a "propane-bottle exchange" on-site is a valuable feature for many RVers.
Regarding other amenities, the park features a "laundry room," although it was "not in working order" during one reviewer's visit. This indicates that while the facility exists, its functionality might vary, and it's prudent for guests to check its status upon arrival if this is a critical amenity for their stay. Restrooms are also available, with a "refundable deposit of $10 for restroom key," suggesting a measure to maintain security and cleanliness. However, one reviewer chose to use their RV's facilities, so direct feedback on the condition of the restrooms is not provided.
McCammon RV Park primarily appeals to travelers seeking an "overall, good overnight park" due to its easy highway access and the convenience it offers. The positive interaction with the attendant is a strong promotional point, illustrating a friendly and accommodating atmosphere. The ability to easily access the park from major routes like I-15 and US-30 makes it a go-to for those requiring a quick and hassle-free stop during their travels. The "nice views" from certain sites also add to its appeal, offering a pleasant backdrop to a temporary stay.
For those searching for "RV parks near me" and prioritizing convenience, good service, and a quiet setting for a short duration, McCammon RV Park fits the bill. While it's important to manage expectations regarding grass maintenance and potentially the operational status of certain amenities like the laundry room, the core offering of accessible RV sites with pleasant views and helpful staff makes it a viable choice. Prospective guests can contact McCammon RV Park directly at (208) 254-3630 or +1 208-254-3630 for current information on site availability, rates, and the status of specific facilities. Understanding that the office is located within the Chevron station is a useful "TIP!" for a smooth arrival and check-in process.

McCammon RV Park Reviews
The park is good with easy access from I-15 or US30. Sites on the east side have nice views. The attendant was terrific; he stayed 30-min late to get us into the park plus he did a propane-bottle exchange for us. The only demerit is I wish he'd have told us to simply come into the Chevron - that's where the office is - and the park is right behind. We were looking all over for a park "across from the Flying J"
Jun 21, 2021 · Steve B JonesPaid $84 for two nights. Laundry room not in working order. Refundable deposit of $10 for restroom key. We chose to use our RV, so unable to review restrooms. Easy access to highway. You chose your own spot. Some of park is mowed, some grass is hip high. Terrible spiky stickers everywhere and kept getting in our dogs feet until they simply refused to go outside. Nice views. Quiet except for occasional train whistle (which we love). Overall, good overnight park.
Jun 22, 2022 · Lisa EllermanThe setting of the park is nice and quiet. A little shady with possibly a homeless tent set up. The bathrooms are disgusting. If you are just looking for a place to pull off and have fulls hook ups it’s a decent value. The campground does not have anyone overseeing it and caring for it the way the others we have stayed at do.
Sep 07, 2020 · Casey MangrumBathrooms require a TON of maintenance which no one wanted to address. Handicap stall was only one that locked BUT it had no shower head, men use women's bathroom 🙀😜😳😲 no lights in bathroom, the water lines that DO work 90% leak, more than half the electrical boxes don't work, other than no bathrooms, no electricity and no water it's a great place to stay 🙀😜😳😲🤣🤣 for a working space rent! If I wanted off grid I would not have paid this price 😲😜🤣
Dec 04, 2022 · Ana HawkThis park is hidden away in a grove of trees with a view of the mountains and some horses in a field. We were pleasantly surprised to find all the trees as we thought we would be in the desert and have no shade. It does provide restrooms and laundry facilities but we haven't used them. We would highly recommend this park to others.
