Based on the available customer reviews, Downey City RV Park is appreciated for its location, amenities, and affordability. One reviewer highlights its prime location "by the fairgrounds," which could be particularly advantageous for those attending events or activities held there. The park offers essential hookups, including water and electricity, which are standard requirements for many RV travelers. The presence of a "dump station nearby" is also a significant convenience for RVers needing to empty their holding tanks.
A key piece of information from the first review is the limited size of the park, with "only 12 sites." This suggests a smaller, potentially more intimate camping experience. The sites are available on a "first come, first serve" basis, and payment is handled via a "pay box," indicating a self-service approach to securing a spot. The nightly rate of $25 is explicitly mentioned and described as a good value, especially considering the amenities and location.
The reviewer also notes "really nice views" from the park, enhancing the overall camping experience by providing a pleasant visual backdrop. Additionally, the presence of "a track for four wheeling" is a significant feature for outdoor enthusiasts, offering a recreational activity right near the campground. This could be a major draw for those traveling with ATVs or looking for off-road adventures.
Regarding the size of RVs that can be accommodated, the first review indicates that there "looks like there is one site for rvs over 35ft." This is important information for potential guests with larger rigs. However, the reviewer suggests that those with RVs "under that" size should have "no problem" finding a suitable site.
The second reviewer echoes the positive sentiment, describing the facilities as "nice." They specifically mention having secured "one of the spots with shade," which can be a significant comfort, especially during warmer months. This suggests that at least some of the 12 sites offer shade. The reviewer also reiterates the affordable nightly rate of "$25," reinforcing its value proposition. They confirm the availability of "water and shore power hookups" and the proximity of a "dump station," aligning with the information provided in the first review.
Considering the "RV parks near me" category, Downey City RV Park offers a budget-friendly option with essential amenities and some appealing extras like nice views and a four-wheeling track. Its location by the fairgrounds adds to its convenience for specific events. The limited number of sites and the first-come, first-serve policy mean that potential guests should plan accordingly, especially during peak seasons or events at the fairgrounds.

Downey City RV Park Reviews
Great campground by the fairgrounds. Water and electricity with a dump station nearby. Only has 12 sites, and they are first come, first serve with a pay box. $25 a night with really nice views and a track for four wheeling. Looks like there is one site for rvs over 35ft. Under that you should have no problem.
Jun 21, 2024 · Steve NietzelNice facilities. We have one of the spots with shade. For only $25 a night, it's good. You have water and shore power hookups available and a dump station close by.
Jun 16, 2024 · Robert AndrewsBasic but nice. Paved road and sites. Level sites, electric and water. Dump on road into park. Sites vary in size, but we fit in one of the shorter ones, in a 42' motorhome. First come, first serve. Not far off highway and worth the $20 to stay. Good job Downey! Grass is green and mowed nicely, trees vary in size, and not really in way of site.
Jul 25, 2021 · Cindy NBeautiful town and campground.50 amp service water hookup and dump station.
Oct 15, 2024 · Don CarneyGreat overnight spot. Only one spot long enough for 40+ft. 50/30 amp and water at your site. Dump station is by the bathrooms. $20 dollars a night.
