Meadowlark Shores RV Resort Introduce
If you are searching for "RV parks near me" in the Moore Haven, Florida area, Meadowlark Shores RV Resort, located at 1880 Williams Rd, Moore Haven, FL 33471, USA, warrants careful consideration based on recent customer feedback available online. While the resort is undergoing renovations, numerous reviews highlight significant concerns regarding various aspects of the park, including pricing, management, amenities, and the overall environment. It is crucial for potential visitors and long-term residents to be aware of these issues to make an informed decision.
Several reviewers have expressed dissatisfaction with the pricing at Meadowlark Shores RV Resort, with one stating it was "way overpriced" for the experience offered. Additionally, there are alarming reports of prices changing daily and customers being charged for extra nights and electricity without prior notice, leading to unexpected financial burdens. One review explicitly advises to "**Beware**" of these pricing practices and the lack of transparency in billing.
The management of Meadowlark Shores RV Resort appears to be a significant point of contention among reviewers. While one manager, Dave, is described as "friendly, welcoming, and helpful," another manager, Vicky, is repeatedly characterized as "rude and unfriendly." This inconsistency in management style could lead to a varied experience for guests depending on their interactions. The recording of all phone calls is also mentioned as a concerning practice by one former guest.
The physical environment of the RV resort has also drawn criticism. Multiple reviews mention the lack of grass, with "sand everywhere." This could impact the comfort and aesthetics of individual RV sites and common areas. Furthermore, one reviewer noted that the "patios" are merely "old foundations," suggesting that the outdoor living spaces may be in disrepair and not as advertised or expected.
The amenities at Meadowlark Shores RV Resort seem to be lacking or in a state of disrepair. A significant drawback for water enthusiasts is the absence of boat docks. One reviewer explicitly stated, "The docks are gone" and that it is not possible to leave a boat in the water or on a camping spot. Given the resort's proximity to the Caloosahatchee River, the lack of usable boat docks is a major disadvantage for those looking for "RV parks near me" with boating access. Moreover, the view of the Caloosahatchee River is reportedly obstructed by overgrown vegetation, with weeds described as being "5 foot tall," making it "barely visible."
Renovations are reportedly underway at Meadowlark Shores RV Resort, but the pace is described as being at a "snails pace." While some improvements have been noted, such as the painting of two buildings, the redone interior of the laundry room, and updated bathrooms, the overall impact of these renovations on the current guest experience is unclear. One reviewer sarcastically commented that new plumbing, electrical, and sewer work might happen "sometime this century," indicating a perceived lack of urgency in addressing potentially significant infrastructure issues.
The social atmosphere within the RV resort also appears to be a concern for some. While one reviewer noted that "permanent residents are wonderful people," they also mentioned that "a few residents are mean and most are cliques that enjoy leaving others out," having only met a small number of friendly people. This suggests that the community dynamic might not be welcoming to all visitors or new residents.
Several other serious issues have been raised by reviewers. One reported a water main break with no boil water advisory issued, accompanied by a horrible smell. Another mentioned the laundry room being closed for remodeling without prior notice, causing inconvenience to guests. The handling of waste management in common areas also seems problematic, with a complaint about the dog park trash overflowing and smelling badly in the heat, requiring repeated requests for it to be taken care of.
The combination of alleged overpricing, rude management (specifically Vicky), a sandy and potentially unkempt environment, the absence of boat docks, obstructed river views, slow-paced renovations, potential social exclusivity, and reported issues with utilities and maintenance paints a concerning picture of Meadowlark Shores RV Resort based on recent online reviews. While the permanent residents are mentioned positively, the overall experience for temporary visitors and potentially new long-term residents seems to be marred by these significant drawbacks.
For individuals actively searching for "RV parks near me" in Moore Haven, it is strongly recommended to carefully weigh the negative feedback surrounding Meadowlark Shores RV Resort against any potential positives, such as the ongoing renovations. Contacting the resort directly at (863) 675-0006 or +1 863-675-0006 to inquire about the current state of the park, the progress of renovations, pricing policies, and management practices is advisable. However, based on the publicly available reviews, potential guests should proceed with caution and consider alternative "RV parks near me" in the area that may offer a more positive and reliable experience.

Meadowlark Shores RV Resort Reviews
I stayed there for 3 weeks in March and went back just the other day. Way overpriced! No grass, sand everywhere. They record every phone call. Manager Vicky is rude and unfriendly. Manager Dave is friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The pool heater is terrible. They are obviously doing renovations at a snails pace. Two buildings have been painted, the inside of the laundry room was redone, and the bathrooms have been updated.A few residents are mean and most are cliques that enjoy leaving others out. I met maybe 6-10 friendly people. The docks are gone. The “patios” are just old foundations, and they will be doing new plumbing, electrical, and sewer sometime this century. They charge the credit card for extra nights and electricity without notice.I will never stay there again.
Apr 12, 2025 · Judy Sallerson**Beware**Prices change daily, they charge your card without notice changing the price of your lot. Management is very rude.Water main break, no boil water advisory smelled horrible??Laundry closed for remodeling no notice. No boat docks, can't leave boat in water or on your camping spot. Can barely see Caloosahatchee river weeds are 5 foot tall.Did I mention all the destruction going on all hours of the day and night!Had to ask to have the dog park trash taken over and over smelled pretty bad at 80 plus degrees and overflowing.A plus note: permanent residents are wonderful people.
Mar 01, 2025 · val naylorI loved the people at this place but that was about it. We are not staying there this year because it was bought out by some big wig Corp. And they destroyed what was there. They through people out that were there for a very long time. They kick out a wonderful 96year old woman that was there for over 30 years. They tore the first 2 rows that run along the river all out and there is nothing there. They took out protect trees. The pictures that you see on their website are picture are old pictures of the way it use to look like. Beware before you book.
Jan 30, 2025 · Debora HarpelThis Rv park was a nice little surprise situated on the beautiful Caloosahatchee River. You can sit on one of the tables along the river watching the boats go by while enjoying your morning coffee. The public restrooms are clean, pool is beautiful and it is so peaceful there and I must mention how friendly all the staff and long term residents are. The owner is working on many updates that I look forward to seeing when I book there again for next year.
Feb 24, 2025 · Joann WeaverNot a rv park. Just a bunch of trailers and homes in Ortona. They also have a nice Lil restaurant and i think bar with drink infusions they were adding when we ate lunch there, great pizza too. Never seen a hotel or RV resort or office. . But they have really nice people that live there and the locks are a really nice place to visit and maybe have a picnic or do some fishing. Looks like you can cross over the locks and go to the other side that's also a pretty place.God Bless
