Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort & Marina Introduce
Looking for exceptional RV parks near you in the Newport Beach area? Look no further than Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort & Marina, a highly regarded destination that offers a unique blend of camping and resort-style amenities. Situated at 1131 Back Bay Dr, Newport Beach, CA 92660, USA, this resort provides an idyllic setting for both short getaways and extended stays. You can easily reach them at (949) 729-3863 or their mobile number, +1 949-729-3863, to inquire about availability and make reservations.
Newport Dunes boasts a fantastic environment that caters to a variety of camping preferences. Whether you're traveling in a fully equipped RV or prefer the traditional experience of tent camping, you'll find well-maintained sites to accommodate your needs. Many sites feature full hookups, ensuring a comfortable and convenient stay with access to essential utilities. One of the standout features, as highlighted by satisfied campers, is the resort's proximity to the calm cove. This serene body of water is perfect for a range of leisurely activities, including paddle boarding and kayaking. Imagine stepping right from your campsite onto the beach and paddling into the tranquil bay – a truly unique experience.
Families with children will find Newport Dunes to be a haven of fun and activity. Kids can enjoy riding around the campground, creating lasting memories in a safe and supervised environment. The resort fosters a community atmosphere where fellow campers are considerate and maintain a peaceful ambiance, especially during the evenings. The presence of a warm pool and a hot tub provides additional opportunities for relaxation and recreation for all ages.
The services and features at Newport Dunes are designed to enhance your camping experience. The on-site store is a significant convenience, offering a range of essentials and perhaps even some treats. The laundry room is another well-appreciated amenity, equipped with a substantial number of clean and functioning machines. The availability of an app for laundry services adds to the convenience and makes managing this task hassle-free and reasonably priced.
One of the most frequently praised aspects of Newport Dunes is its prime location. Its strategic position offers easy access to several popular Southern California destinations. Balboa Island, with its charming shops and attractions, is within walking distance, allowing for spontaneous excursions. Additionally, both Long Beach and Laguna Beach are a short drive away, providing opportunities to explore diverse coastal landscapes, vibrant arts scenes, and additional entertainment options. This makes Newport Dunes an excellent basecamp for discovering the wider region.
While the majority of feedback is overwhelmingly positive, it's important to provide a balanced perspective, as reflected in customer reviews. Some guests have noted that the shower facilities could benefit from better ventilation, as they can become steamy with wet floors. Additionally, the campsites are described as somewhat tight, and maneuvering larger RVs and trucks can present a parking challenge at individual sites. The availability of sites with a bit of grass is also mentioned as a desirable improvement for some campers.
Another point to consider is the atmosphere during the weekends. According to some reviews, the weekends can take on a more lively, "party central" vibe. This may involve more noise and activity, including neighbors socializing late into the night and children operating golf carts. While some enjoy this social energy, those seeking a purely peaceful and quiet retreat might find the weekdays more to their liking, as they are generally reported to be more tranquil and less crowded with respectful neighbors.
Despite these minor drawbacks, the overall consensus is that Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort & Marina offers an amazing camping experience. The friendly and helpful staff consistently receive high praise, contributing significantly to the positive atmosphere of the resort. The sense of safety within the campground provides peace of mind for families and all visitors.

With its stunning waterfront location, array of amenities, friendly service, and convenient access to local attractions, it provides a memorable camping experience for families, couples, and solo travelers alike. Whether you're looking to enjoy water sports, explore nearby coastal towns, or simply relax in a beautiful setting, Newport Dunes is a destination worth considering for your next RV adventure or camping trip.

Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort & Marina Reviews
Great campground! We had a tent and RV on the site. Full hookup’s worked great. The pool was warm and the hot tub was hot! The cove was nice and calm, perfect for paddle boarding and kayaks. Kids had a blast riding around. The other campers drove carefully and were quiet at the right time. My only complaint was that a crow decided to complaint all morning one day. Not the parks fault, annoying still. All together an amazing time!
Apr 28, 2025 · Jonathan VallettePROS: The location of this resort is just perfect for walking to Balboa Island, driving to both Long Beach and Laguna Beach. It is perfect to paddle board right into the bay from your campsite and be on the beach. The staff is wonderful and very friendly. It is a very safe campground. The store is great, the pool was clean and always busy. Laundry room is large with lots of machines ( all of them working) and clean; with the app it is reasonable to do laundry. The weekdays are wonderful, quiet and respectful neighbors and not too crowded.CONS: The showers need to have fans as they are sooo steamy and the floors are wet. The sites are tight, but the sites with a little grass would be wonderful. Hard to park the rig and truck at your site. Probably the biggest con is that the weekends are like party central. Our neighbors talked right outside our window all night and the music, kids under 10 driving golf carts in tight spaces was crazy. I love to talk with people and hang out, but the weekends are not peaceful if that is what you are looking for.
Apr 24, 2025 · Lisa LundThe campground was fantastic, another great stay at the dunes. Facilities were clean beach was clean. Pool was clean. Hot tub was nice and hot pool was warm. Everything was good. We stayed in the waterfront sites, which is an absolute luxury for this campground. As you get further back the sites get cheaper but also much tighter the front sites have an awesome grassy area with a fence and it just makes the trip. I have to say it was a little unexpected that the water was green and mucky. I don’t remember this being there so I’m guessing that this is because we stayed there in the off-season which ends May 1 hopefully they will clean all that out out of the bay before the season starts. It’s pretty gross.
Apr 11, 2025 · Chris FI camped there 5 nights and had a great time. They allow propane fire pits and have a great little store. There is propane available. Just hold onto your hat when the bill comes. By the time you put your slides out, you pretty much fill your site. I had room for the awning and about 2/3 rds of my rug. It can't be too bad. I've camped there 2 years in a row.Beautiful views and lots of areas to walk around. They keep the grounds clean. I already have plans to return next year!
Apr 03, 2025 · Tim DraughonOverall an amazing facility but the 1 star review is because they can’t seem to keep the battery charged on their Apple Pay card reader at the security booth. Sending this review with the hopes management can prioritize providing a reliable interface for payments made by tap or with apple/google pay. It’s 50/50 on the machine being working and staff tells me the battery dies and management won’t upgrade the unit. Help please!
