Oaklawn RV Park Introduce
For local residents and travelers exploring the Biloxi, Mississippi area and searching within the "RV parks near me" category, Oaklawn RV Park, located at 8400 W Oaklawn Rd #37, presents a location with both notable advantages and potential drawbacks, according to recent customer reviews. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview of the park's environment, services, and features based on the available feedback.
One of the key advantages of Oaklawn RV Park, as highlighted by multiple reviewers, is its convenient location. Situated close to Interstate 10, it offers easy access for those traveling through the area. Furthermore, its proximity to essential services for RV owners, such as a Camping World and a tire shop within walking distance, is a significant benefit. This makes Oaklawn RV Park a potentially ideal stop for those needing parts, repairs, or tire services while on the road. This accessibility to key RV-related businesses positions Oaklawn favorably within the "RV parks near me" category for practical needs.
In terms of the physical layout, Oaklawn RV Park is described as "small" but "clean." One reviewer stayed in site 111, a "mostly level packed gravel FHU pull-through site" that comfortably accommodated a 32’ Class C RV towing a VW Beetle on a tow dolly without needing to unhook. This indicates that the park offers pull-through sites capable of handling larger rigs and the convenience of full hookups (FHU). The availability of both back-in and pull-through slips caters to different preferences and RV sizes. The observation that "most of the people here are long timers" suggests a stable community within the park.
For those seeking a short overnight stay, one reviewer found Oaklawn RV Park to be a "great place for a one-nighter," especially when utilizing the Good Sam discount, which brought the price down to $38. This suggests that the park participates in the Good Sam Club program, offering potential cost savings for members.
However, not all feedback regarding Oaklawn RV Park is positive. One guest who spent nearly a year at the campground raised several concerns. A significant issue highlighted was the "nightmare" parking situation for both regular vehicles and RVs due to limited space. This could be a considerable inconvenience for residents and visitors alike.
Another major concern raised was the "unreliable" WiFi. Despite "numerous complaints," the reviewer stated that the manager, Jim, had not taken adequate steps to improve it. In today's connected world, unreliable internet access can be a significant drawback for many travelers and long-term residents.
The reviewer also alleged "favoritism" within the park, suggesting that some residents receive "special treatment" and are not held to the same rules as others. Such inconsistencies in rule enforcement can lead to dissatisfaction and a sense of unfairness among residents.
Perhaps the most concerning part of this extended review involves an incident with mail delivery after the guest's departure. The reviewer reported having an essential package and other mail delivered to the campground and contacted the manager, Jim, on the day of delivery to request that the items be set aside. Despite providing delivery confirmation from the postal service, the manager allegedly denied receiving the items and sent them back on the same day. This incident raises questions about the reliability and accountability of the management.
The reviewer further noted that the same manager, Jim, was "rehired after being fired for poor performance," which adds to their concerns about the overall management of the campground. This information, if accurate, could be a significant factor for prospective residents to consider when evaluating the long-term stability and quality of management at Oaklawn RV Park.
Considering these varied perspectives, Oaklawn RV Park offers a compelling advantage in its location, particularly its proximity to I-10 and RV-related services. The park is also described as small and clean, with level, packed gravel pull-through sites available. It appears to cater to both short-term and long-term stays, with a seemingly established community of long-term residents and the acceptance of the Good Sam discount.
However, potential residents should be aware of the significant concerns raised by one long-term guest regarding parking limitations, unreliable WiFi, alleged favoritism, and questionable management practices, including issues with mail handling. These are crucial factors to weigh against the park's positive attributes.
For local users in the "RV parks near me" category considering Oaklawn RV Park, it is recommended to visit the park in person to assess the parking situation and the overall environment. Inquiring directly with the management about the WiFi service and their policies on package handling would also be prudent. If possible, speaking with current residents (beyond those who might be casually encountered) could provide further insights into the day-to-day living experience at Oaklawn RV Park.
To contact Oaklawn RV Park for inquiries about availability, rates, and amenities, you can use the following contact information:
- Phone: (228) 392-1233
- Mobile Phone: +1 228-392-1233
- Address: 8400 W Oaklawn Rd #37, Biloxi, MS 39532, USA
When you call, be sure to ask specific questions related to your needs and concerns, such as the reliability of the WiFi, parking availability for your vehicle and RV, and their procedures for handling mail and packages. Inquiring about any long-term stay discounts or amenities available on-site would also be beneficial.
In conclusion, Oaklawn RV Park in Biloxi, MS, offers a conveniently located and seemingly clean environment with practical amenities like pull-through sites and Good Sam discounts. Its proximity to I-10 and RV services is a significant advantage. However, potential residents should carefully consider the reported issues regarding parking, WiFi reliability, alleged favoritism, and concerns about management reliability before making a decision. A personal visit and thorough questioning of the management are highly recommended to ensure that Oaklawn RV Park meets your specific needs and expectations.

Oaklawn RV Park Reviews
I spent nearly a year at this campground and had a few concerns. First off, parking is a nightmare for both regular vehicles and RVs due to limited space. Also, the WiFi is unreliable, and despite numerous complaints, the manager, Jim, still needs to take steps to improve it. There's also an issue with favoritism; some residents seem to get special treatment and aren't held to the same rules as everyone else. I recently had an essential package and other mail delivered to the campground after my departure. I contacted the manager, Jim, on the day of delivery to request he set them aside for me. Despite my efforts and delivery confirmation from the postal service, Jim denied receiving the items and sent them back on the same day. This, coupled with the fact that he was rehired after being fired for poor performance, really questions the management's reliability and accountability. I hope the situation at the campground improves and that they consider how the management is handling things.
Mar 14, 2024 · Samar 1930Small, clean and quiet park located close to I10. Great location if you need tires or RV parts/repairs as there is a Camping World and tire place within walking distance! We were in site 111, a mostly level packed gravel FHU pull-through site that accommodated our 32’ Class C towing a VW Beetle on a tow dolly without unhooking. There are back-in and pull-through slips and it looked like most of the people here are long timers. Did not use facilities or WiFi as we had full bars on ATT and 3 bars on Verizon. Good Sam discount brought price to $38. Great place for a one-nighter.
May 04, 2024 · Doug ChasickNice and convenient park for a quick overnight while passing through. There were alot of full time residents in the park but room for transients. Park has full hookups and price wasn't too bad although I would expect some amenities for the price. Check in was easy as no one was in the office so we parked and had no interaction with the staff.
Mar 28, 2023 · James StinnettDecent pricing for the stay. Overall location is what won for us. Right off the highway and 10 minutes from all of the attractions in the area. Loved that it’s next to a Camping World, tire shop, and emergency vet. What more could you ask for when traveling across country? Great for a layover.Negatives: small sites that overlap and it’s more of a mobile home park than an RV park. Also, water pressure wasn’t great so our pump kept engaging.
Oct 22, 2022 · Brittany ValentinoWe just moved in to the “trailer side” and absolutely love how calm it is - as well as the effort from management to keep the place tidy and in order. Very upfront about the rules so I’m not understanding all of these negative reviews - and y’all it floods in coastal Mississippi! 😂 all travelers beware, you will endure puddles in the bottom of our state. All that being said, this isn’t your average trailer park BECAUSE of how strict our management is, which makes it a calm and family friendly environment that sets it apart from other trailer and rv parks. We’re not planning on going anywhere soon, we and the kids are perfectly happy!
