Old Florida RV Resort Introduce
Are you seeking "RV parks near me" in the Citra, Florida area that offer a blend of natural beauty, convenient amenities, and a peaceful atmosphere? Look no further than Old Florida RV Resort, located at 701 W Hwy 318, Citra, FL 32113, USA. Situated right on the edge of the expansive Orange Lake, this small RV park provides a charming and scenic retreat for travelers looking to experience the authentic side of Florida's landscape.
One of the first things that guests appreciate about Old Florida RV Resort is the layout and ease of access. The RV sites are described as spacious, providing ample room for maneuvering and setting up camp. The pull-in and pull-out process is reported to be easy, which is a significant convenience for RVers of all sizes. This thoughtful design of the sites contributes to a stress-free arrival and departure experience.
The environment of Old Florida RV Resort is a major draw for nature lovers. The park boasts large grassy walking areas, perfect for leisurely strolls and enjoying the outdoors. These green spaces are located both in the front of the park, shaded by beautiful live oak trees draped with iconic Spanish moss, creating a quintessential "Old Florida" backdrop. Additionally, the back of the park features a short peninsula trail that extends out towards Orange Lake, offering guests enhanced views of the water and the surrounding natural scenery. These walking areas provide opportunities for relaxation, exercise, and connecting with the peaceful environment.
For budget-conscious travelers searching for "RV parks near me," Old Florida RV Resort is noted as being a "good deal for the price paid." This suggests that the park offers a balance of quality amenities and a pleasant environment at a reasonable cost, making it an attractive option for those looking for value in their RV accommodations.
While the overall experience at Old Florida RV Resort is positive, some areas for potential improvement have been identified by guests. One suggestion is the addition of another washer and dryer to the laundry facilities. Currently, there is only one of each for the entire park, which could lead to wait times, especially during peak seasons or when the park is fully occupied. Increasing the number of laundry units would enhance the convenience for guests, particularly those on longer stays.
Another area where guests have suggested improvements is the nighttime lighting within the park. One reviewer noted that there was only a single street lamp towards the front of the park, and during their stay, it was malfunctioning, cycling on and off frequently. The reviewer suggested that the park could benefit from the installation of small path lights to provide subtle illumination without being overly bright. This would be particularly helpful near the washhouse and along the interior driveway, which are common walking areas at night, improving safety and visibility for guests navigating the park after dark.
Despite these minor suggestions, the overall sentiment towards Old Florida RV Resort is overwhelmingly positive, especially regarding the recent management changes. One enthusiastic reviewer described it as a "Great little park" and specifically praised the "Great management (New since May 2023 and making huge improvements)." This indicates that the park is under proactive and positive leadership that is actively working to enhance the guest experience. The reviewer also highlighted the "very quiet and clean" atmosphere of the park, as well as the fact that the facilities are kept "extremely clean." These are crucial aspects for any traveler seeking a comfortable and hygienic stay.
The combination of the scenic location on Orange Lake, the spacious and easily accessible RV sites, the beautiful natural surroundings with live oak trees and Spanish moss, the affordability, and the positive impact of the new management make Old Florida RV Resort a compelling choice when searching for "RV parks near me" in the Citra area. The quiet and clean environment further adds to its appeal, promising a relaxing and enjoyable stay. While there are minor areas for potential enhancement, the recent improvements under new management suggest a bright future for this charming RV park.
In conclusion, Old Florida RV Resort offers a delightful retreat on the edge of Orange Lake in Citra, FL. Its spacious sites, easy access, affordable rates, and beautiful natural setting, complete with grassy walking areas and picturesque views, make it a standout option for RV travelers. The positive feedback regarding the new management and the cleanliness and quietness of the park further enhance its appeal. While the addition of more laundry facilities and improved nighttime lighting would be beneficial, the overall experience at Old Florida RV Resort is highly positive. Old Florida RV Resort Reviews
This is a pretty great small RV park located right on the edge of Orange Lake. The RV sites are spacious, and easy to pull in and out of. If you chose a spot near the road, you will have to deal with some road noise as there is a fair amount of heavy truck traffic that goes by. Towards the back of the park the road noise is blocked enough that you don’t really notice it.We really enjoyed the large grassy walking areas, both in the front of the park under the oak trees, and in the back of the park there is a short peninsula trail that brings you out to the lake for a better view.We thought the park was a good deal for the price we paid. Some things that could be improved is adding another washer are dryer. There is only one washer and one dryer currently for the entire park. They also could use some more lighting in the park at night. There was only one street lamp towards the front of the park, but when we were there it was malfunctioning and would cycle on and off every 30 seconds. I think the park could benefit from some small path lights to help illuminate the area just a bit without being overbearing. Especially near the wash house and along the interior of the park’s driveway as that’s where many people walk at night.
Feb 16, 2024 · Kyle JohnsonGreat little park. Love the live oak trees with Spanish Moss for a backdrop. Great management (New since May 2023 and making huge improvements). Very quiet and clean. Facilities are kept extremely clean.
Dec 30, 2023 · Todd PocobelloI didn't really want to do a Google Review because I don't want the secret to get out. But, even though we are from just literally down the street, in Ocala, we have found a local place for us to be able to get away when we can't necessarily get away. I'm still able to go to the office & work as needed & the wife can hang out & relax. Very nice little park (30 something sites) on Orange Lake with spacious sites (several are shady), clean bath house/restrooms & a super nice staff. The manager Marco & Joe the onsite Camp Host are always looking to make sure you are enjoying your stay. We will definitely be back & would love to plan a group trip with friends that want to get away but aren't able to get away. Word is that ice, lp gas, a store, & a dog park is all in the works. This little gem has literally only been open a couple months...
Nov 05, 2023 · Robert HowieGreat campground. Small in size (34 spaces), big on opportunities. Great Staff, level sites, large sites, full hookups, dog park and private boat ramp onto Orange Lake. So much to do in the area - biking (Hawthorne to Gainesville paved trail), hiking (Paynes Prairie Preserve), Gainesville - botanical gardens & Gator games, The Yearling - Marjorie Rawlings historic restaurant, Micanopy, McIntosh. A taste of Old Florida that should not be missed
Oct 06, 2023 · Julie LongStayed here for a few nights and definitely a great experience. The amenities are top notch and boating was a blast. Such a pretty place to see Nature at its finest. Can’t wait to plan my next trip. So close to many other cool Florida sites as well. The Canyons and Devils Den are amongst many. Thanks Old Florida RV Resort!!!
