Orion Oaks Introduce
For local users exploring the "RV Parks Near Me" category and considering a long-term residential option in Gastonia, North Carolina, Orion Oaks Mobile Home Park, located at 2009 Angler Way, Gastonia, NC 28052, USA, presents a community with both positive social aspects and potential environmental considerations. While listed on a platform that includes RV parks, Orion Oaks primarily functions as a mobile home park catering to individuals and families seeking a more permanent living situation. This detailed introduction aims to provide local users with a comprehensive understanding of the environment, services (as inferred), features, and important considerations, including both the welcoming community spirit and potential wildlife concerns, based on the available customer reviews.
Location and Environment: Situated in Gastonia, North Carolina, Orion Oaks Mobile Home Park is located in what one reviewer refers to as the "Crowder frontier." This suggests a location that may be on the outskirts of Gastonia, possibly bordering more rural or undeveloped land. The term "frontier" can imply a setting with closer proximity to nature and potentially more interaction with local wildlife. While this can contribute to a certain charm and sense of being connected to the natural surroundings, it can also come with considerations regarding the local ecosystem.
The address on Angler Way does not immediately provide specific details about the park's layout or natural features. However, the mention of the "Crowder frontier" hints at a less urbanized environment compared to the center of Gastonia. Potential residents might expect a setting with more open spaces or natural vegetation in and around the park. It is important to note that the reviews provide contrasting perspectives on the environment, with one highlighting the friendly community and the other raising concerns about the presence of snakes.
Services and Amenities (Inferred): As Orion Oaks appears to be a residential mobile home park catering to longer-term residents, the services and amenities would typically align with this type of living arrangement. Although the reviews do not explicitly list specific amenities, we can infer some of the essential provisions that residents would generally expect:
- Utility Hookups: Individual mobile home lots would likely be equipped with connections for essential utilities such as water, sewer, and electricity.
- Road Maintenance: The internal roads within the park would need to be maintained to ensure accessibility for residents and visitors.
- Waste Management: A system for the collection and disposal of trash would be a standard service provided to residents.
- Management: Residents would expect access to park management for addressing concerns, overseeing operations, and ensuring the smooth functioning of the community.
Similar to other primarily residential mobile home parks, Orion Oaks may not offer the extensive recreational facilities often found in short-term RV parks. The focus is likely on providing the necessary infrastructure for long-term living within a community setting.
Features and Community: One of the key features highlighted by a customer review is the friendly and family-oriented nature of the community at Orion Oaks. The phrase "Just friendly family oriented folks on the Crowder frontier gotta love the Southern Flare" paints a picture of a welcoming and neighborly environment with a distinct Southern charm. This suggests that residents can expect a strong sense of community, where families feel comfortable and interactions with neighbors are positive and friendly.
This positive social aspect can be a significant draw for those seeking a sense of belonging and a supportive community in their long-term living situation. The "Southern Flare" likely refers to a warm, hospitable, and perhaps more traditional community atmosphere that some residents may find particularly appealing.
Important Considerations: Wildlife (Snakes): In contrast to the positive description of the community, another customer review raises a significant concern: "This place is full of snakes and I'm not talking about the kind on the ground beware." This alarming statement suggests a potential issue with a high population of snakes within the mobile home park. This is a critical piece of information for prospective residents to consider, especially those with phobias or concerns about safety related to wildlife.
The ambiguity of "and I'm not talking about the kind on the ground" could be interpreted in various ways, but the primary concern raised is the presence of snakes. This issue could stem from the park's location on the "Crowder frontier," potentially bordering natural habitats where snakes are common. It is essential for potential residents to be aware of this possibility and to inquire further about any measures taken to manage or mitigate this issue.
Living in an area with a significant snake population can have implications for safety, especially for children and pets. It might also affect the overall enjoyment of outdoor spaces within the park. Therefore, this feedback should be taken seriously by anyone considering residency at Orion Oaks.
Promotional Information and Essential Advice: Given the contrasting feedback, any "promotional" aspect must be balanced with a clear understanding of the potential drawbacks. The key aspects to consider are:
- Friendly, Family-Oriented Community: A significant positive aspect is the welcoming and neighborly atmosphere with a "Southern Flare."
- Potential Wildlife Concerns: Prospective residents must be aware of the reported presence of a high number of snakes, which could be a significant deterrent for some.
- "Crowder Frontier" Location: The potentially more natural setting may contribute to both the community feel and the wildlife presence.
Essential Advice for Potential Residents:
- Inquire About Wildlife Management: Directly ask park management about the reported snake issue and any measures in place to address it.
- Assess Personal Tolerance: Consider your comfort level with the potential presence of snakes and other wildlife due to the park's location.
- Visit and Observe: If possible, visit Orion Oaks to get a firsthand impression of the community and the environment. Pay attention to any signs of wildlife.
- Talk to Current Residents: If feasible, speak with current residents to get a more comprehensive understanding of both the positive community aspects and any challenges related to wildlife or the environment.
- Consider Safety Precautions: If you choose to live at Orion Oaks, take necessary precautions regarding snakes, such as being aware of your surroundings, especially in grassy or wooded areas, and teaching children about snake safety.
In conclusion, Orion Oaks Mobile Home Park in Gastonia, NC, appears to offer a friendly and family-oriented community with a "Southern Flare," which can be a significant positive for those seeking a welcoming neighborhood. However, the serious concern raised by another reviewer regarding a high population of snakes cannot be ignored. The park's location on the "Crowder frontier" may contribute to both aspects. Local users under the "RV Parks Near Me" category who are considering long-term residency at Orion Oaks must carefully weigh the positive reports of community against the potential challenges posed by the local wildlife. Thorough investigation and direct communication with park management and residents are strongly recommended before making a decision.

Dec 27, 2017 · Tammy MckinnishThis place was literally the worse living experience I have ever had. The management is never in their office and they never answer their phones. They went up on lot rent due to Charlotte upping their prices, this location is about 40 mins or more from Charlotte. They refuse to fix any of the huge pot holes in the roads. All they care about is money and their new park they are making across the street. I recently moved from this park and I felt very unsafe. There were countless nights strangers would park in front of my home and shine their lights in my windows and sit there smoking weed. Tons of stray cats and dogs going around with no owners near by or leash. I would never recommend any one to own or buy a trailer in this park.
Jul 10, 2021 · Katie HaasThis company is horrible. The do not help out the tenants if there is a problem in the neighborhood. They will not ever answer the phone for any reason. They will not do anything in the neighborhood as far as improvements. I am very unhappy with this company. I do not know who they paid off to get the previous reviews on this website. They obviously do not interact with the people I have been trying to contact for the past few months to get water to my home. This is the 3rd time I have tried to get my water fixed in 2 months and I am still having the same problem. No water. And I do believe that water is just one of the basic necessities of a mobile home park!!!!!
Oct 18, 2016 · Patricia TolleyI live in a different trailer park but BOY THIS ONE IS GOOD, it's big, and it even has sidewalks, I looked on google Maps.
