Overland RV Park Introduce
When searching for "RV parks near me" in the Van Buren, Arkansas area, Overland RV Park, located at 1716 1/2 Fayetteville Rd, Van Buren, AR 72956, USA, is one option that may appear. They can be contacted at (479) 222-9543 or +1 479-222-9543 for inquiries. However, recent online reviews present a concerning picture of the park, highlighting significant issues that potential visitors should carefully consider before making a reservation.
One reviewer expressed extreme dissatisfaction, stating, "If you're willing to overlook criminal activity, poor service, and faulty spots for a convenient location then this might be an ok rv park." This is a strong indictment, suggesting that while the location might offer some advantages, the overall experience is severely compromised by other factors. The reviewer further elaborated on these issues, mentioning "Poor wifi to make up for hostile environment and aggressive animals." This indicates that the promised amenity of Wi-Fi is inadequate and that the park environment is perceived as unwelcoming and potentially unsafe due to the presence of aggressive animals.
The same reviewer also recounted a personal negative encounter, stating, "Was verbally assaulted by some hippies that live near the dumpsters after I wouldn't buy his jewelry." This incident raises serious concerns about the safety and security within the park and the behavior of some individuals residing there. The reviewer's overall experience was overwhelmingly negative, leading them to conclude, "Stayed one night and I wouldn't stay another hour there even if I was paid." This emphatic statement underscores the severity of their dissatisfaction and serves as a strong warning to potential guests.
Another reviewer echoed the sentiment regarding the convenient location, noting it is "very convenient location that is close to stores, restaurants and interstate." Proximity to such amenities can be a significant draw for RV travelers seeking ease of access to essential services and transportation routes. However, this reviewer also pointed out a significant drawback, stating, "The rates at this site are on the rise, so no telling what they could be, it will vary depending who you are." This suggests a lack of transparency and potential inconsistency in pricing, which can be off-putting to budget-conscious travelers.
The second reviewer was highly critical of the management, stating, "The guys that the new owners have running the place treat people who stay here with disrespect, they are rude and are known to be of violent nature to anybody." These are serious allegations that directly impact the comfort and safety of guests. Rudeness and a perceived violent nature of the management can create a hostile and intimidating environment, deterring visitors and making their stay unpleasant.
Further complaints were raised about the lack of basic amenities and maintenance. The reviewer noted that the management "do not keep supplies to the bathrooms and showers, do not have the amenities they claim to have. Its basic hookups and nothing else." This indicates a failure to provide essential facilities and services that are typically expected at an RV park, such as stocked restrooms and showers, and suggests that any advertised additional amenities are likely non-existent. The description of "basic hookups and nothing else" implies a bare-bones offering without the added conveniences that many RV parks provide.
The second reviewer went on to characterize the park in extremely negative terms, stating, "This RV park was taken over by a bunch of criminals that pretend to business like." This is a severe accusation that aligns with the first reviewer's mention of "criminal activity" and further underscores serious concerns about the safety and integrity of the park's management and potentially its residents.
The reviewer also provided historical context, noting, "This place was nice and conveinent until the new people took over. Stay here at your own risk." This suggests a significant decline in the quality and safety of the park under new ownership, making it a potentially risky choice for travelers who may have had positive experiences there in the past.
Finally, the second reviewer addressed the issue of promised but undelivered amenities, stating, "There was suppose to be wifi, cable and such amenities at this site. i have been here a while and can say there has never been cable and the wifi is the worst i know of." This confirms the first reviewer's complaint about poor Wi-Fi and adds the lack of cable television to the list of unmet expectations. The reviewer concluded with a strong warning, "This is not the place to stop with your family," emphasizing the perceived safety and suitability issues of Overland RV Park, particularly for those traveling with children.
Based on these two highly negative reviews, the environment at Overland RV Park appears to be problematic. The allegations of criminal activity, a hostile atmosphere, aggressive animals, and verbal assault paint a picture of an unsafe and unwelcoming place. The poor Wi-Fi further detracts from the convenience that might be expected in a modern RV park.
The services and features seem to be severely lacking, with complaints about disrespectful and potentially violent management, unstocked bathrooms and showers, and the absence of advertised amenities like cable television. Even the basic Wi-Fi is described as "the worst." The only consistently mentioned positive aspect is the convenient location near stores, restaurants, and the interstate, but this advantage appears to be overshadowed by the significant negative experiences reported by guests.
There is no promotional information available in the provided text. Given the overwhelmingly negative feedback regarding the park's safety and management, it is unlikely that potential visitors would be swayed by any standard promotions without addressing the fundamental issues raised in the reviews.
In conclusion, while Overland RV Park in Van Buren, Arkansas, may offer a convenient location for travelers seeking proximity to amenities and the interstate, the recent online reviews paint a deeply concerning picture of the park. Allegations of criminal activity, poor service, hostile environment, aggressive animals, verbal assault, disrespectful and potentially violent management, unstocked facilities, and the absence of advertised amenities should give any prospective visitor serious pause. The strong warnings from former guests to avoid the park, especially for families, underscore the severity of the reported issues. For those searching for "RV parks near me" in the Van Buren area, it would be prudent to exercise extreme caution and thoroughly investigate alternative options before considering a stay at Overland RV Park. The significant negative feedback suggests that the potential risks may far outweigh the benefit of its location.

Apr 02, 2025 · Charles RiceThe owner was very nice, the cost very affordable and accommodates if you're passing through and have no other choice. However, this is a long term tenant park, and if rv parks allow long term tenants they should have rules on the "upkeep of the park". Some of the rvs are so old they don't look liveable, the park was cluttered and messy, dog feces on ground next to where we parked, trash dumpsters full and overflowing. The owner needs to take pride and clean it up, have park rules and make then abide by them.
Jul 03, 2024 · Debbie WarrinerI lived here for the summer, I never had a issue with anyone, in fact ppl were very sweet that are longer term. I loved the staff who were more than accommodating and it is with in walking distance to good restaurants and stores. I'd camp here again absolutely. They have showers brand new wash machines and dryers a big area to walk around only draw back was no shade you just roll out your awning and you will be fine. The price is right too.
Oct 08, 2023 · k im “Knot a leper”My family and I have lived here for almost 3 years now. It was a nice place when we came....but the park is a little run down now and in need of repairs. The washers and dryers do not get your clothes clean or dry. If you have kids you might want to look for another park. There is nothing for them to do outside and they don't seem to like kids outside playing.
