Poll Bayou RV Park Introduce
For local users searching for "RV parks near me" in the Malcolm, Alabama area, Poll Bayou RV Park is located at 172 Washington Road, Malcolm, AL 36556, USA. They can be contacted at (251) 455-2911 or their mobile number, +1 251-455-2911. It is crucial for potential visitors to be aware that recent customer feedback regarding this park presents a stark contrast in experiences, which should be carefully considered.
One review offers a highly positive perspective, beginning with "ATTENTION! ATTENTION!" to emphasize the recommendation. This reviewer described Poll Bayou RV Park as a "great place in a great location." They highlighted a sense of security, stating that personal belongings could be left outside untouched. The owner was praised as a "great person, very helpful and very understanding." For families with children, the park was recommended as "the best place to be" due to open space and ample area for children to play and run. The reviewer concluded by recommending the park to those seeking a family-oriented and safe environment, offering a strong endorsement.
However, a subsequent review presents a drastically different and overwhelmingly negative experience. This reviewer described the owner as "rude" and recounted a negative interaction regarding their service dog, alleging they were yelled at and accused of their dog being "extremely rude and hateful." Based on this encounter, the reviewer stated they "wouldn’t suggest anyone going to this place" and described their recent four-day stay as "the worst decision ever," expressing a preference for paying more elsewhere for better service. The reviewer further claimed they were overcharged, quoted $500 for a month but charged $500 for four days, and faced rudeness when inquiring about the discrepancy. Additionally, they reported issues with the electrical breaker at their parking spot, alleging the owner became angry when asked to have it fixed due to it blowing fuses in their camper. Beyond management issues, this reviewer claimed the park floods when it rains and that there is trash in the woods behind the campsites. They also mentioned "very very rude message" from the owner posted in the laundry and shower house. The review concluded with a strong warning to "avoid this man at all cost" and to "avoid this campgrounds at all cost," accusing the owner of being a "terrible individual" who would "rob you blind."
Given these diametrically opposed reviews, providing an objective introduction to Poll Bayou RV Park requires acknowledging both perspectives without omitting any information:
Environment: One reviewer praised the "great location" and open space suitable for children. However, the other reviewer claimed that the park floods when it rains and that there is trash in the woods behind the campsites, presenting a significantly less appealing picture of the environment. These conflicting accounts make it difficult to ascertain the true state of the park's environment without further corroboration.
Services and Features: The positive review mentions open space for children to play, implying a family-friendly feature. The negative review references a laundry and shower house, albeit with the caveat of "very very rude message" posted by the owner within these facilities. The electrical hookups are also mentioned negatively, with an allegation of a faulty breaker that the owner was unwilling to address courteously. There is no information provided about other typical RV park services or features such as water and sewer hookups, WiFi, recreational areas, or security measures.
Management: This is the most contentious aspect based on the reviews. One reviewer described the owner as "great," "very helpful," and "very understanding." In stark contrast, the other reviewer characterized the owner as "rude," "crude," "socially unacceptable," and someone who thinks "everybody owes him something." The negative review details specific instances of alleged yelling, rudeness regarding a service animal, and mishandling of billing inquiries. This extreme divergence in opinions on the owner's demeanor and management style is a critical point for potential visitors to consider.
Promotional Information: The positive review, while not explicitly promotional, serves as a strong positive testimonial, highlighting safety and family-friendliness. The negative review actively discourages anyone from staying at the park, citing alleged overcharging ($500 for four days instead of a quoted $500 for a month) and the owner's rude behavior as reasons to "avoid this man at all cost." The discrepancy in the quoted and charged rates, if accurate, would be a significant concern for potential guests. There is no other promotional information available.
In conclusion, Poll Bayou RV Park in Malcolm, Alabama, presents a complex picture based on the limited and contradictory recent reviews. One reviewer experienced a safe, family-friendly environment with a helpful owner. However, another reviewer reported a highly negative experience characterized by a rude owner, issues with a service animal, alleged overcharging, unresolved maintenance problems (faulty electrical breaker), and concerns about the park's environment (flooding, trash). These conflicting accounts make it impossible to provide a definitive positive or negative introduction. Local users searching for "RV parks near me" should be aware of these starkly different experiences. It would be prudent to contact the park directly to inquire about current conditions, policies regarding service animals, billing practices, and maintenance procedures. Visiting the park in person, if feasible, might also help potential guests form their own assessment before making a decision. The extreme divergence in feedback necessitates a cautious approach and thorough personal investigation.

Apr 10, 2025 · Regina Swimthis guy is rude we stayed 4 day he charged us 500$ call me and yelled at me about my Service dog being extremely rude and hateful I wouldn’t suggest anyone going to this place. I just got back from there last week and it was the worst decision ever. I would rather pay more money and have friendly or service then to have some old cranky rude individual that thinks everybody owes him something and my dog was in my camper. He was mad because I told him his breaker in the place that we parked was bad that he needed to send somebody to fix it. It kept blowing all the fuses inside my camper and he got mad so that is the disrespect that we got for asking him can you come and look at it? Can you change the breaker something mind you this is my first time ever having my camper out did I ever think I was going to encounter someone as rude crude and socially unacceptable as him I did not, but I will not be going back and nor do I suggest anyone rent from this man or go and park your RV at his place not only does it flood when it rains, but there’s trash in the woods behind all the campsites There is a very very rude message on the laundry wall from him and one in the shower house I mean this guy is just a terrible individual And will rob you blind we got quoted $500 for a month we ended up paying $500 for four days then, when I called him to ask him about it, he got rude with me again avoid this man at all cost avoid this campgrounds at all cost.
Apr 12, 2025 · Bridgett SmithA shade tree heaven away from red lights and crackheads. Where I want my camper to be when working anywhere in that area! The owner is VERY adamant about no permanent locals and welcoming, with open arms and hearts, construction workers, tourists, pro bass fishermen, and all others looking for a nice, beautiful, quiet, low drama place to cool your buns after a long day’s work or leisure. Thanks to current day Jesus, Elon Musk, Star-Link internet is now up and active and have heard positive things about the WIFI as it has been a sketchy, single, AT&T DSL line feeding the entire place (and we all know how that turned out). A true home away from home. Kid & family friendly.
