Riverside Park RV- City of Brownwood Introduce
For those searching for "RV parks near me" in the Brownwood, Texas area, Riverside Park RV - City of Brownwood, located at 320 Riverside Park Dr, Brownwood, TX 76801, offers a compact yet appealing option. Based on online reviews, this city-operated RV park is noted for its cleanliness, inviting atmosphere, excellent location, and unique amenities, although potential guests should be aware of a significant local feline population.
One reviewer describes Riverside Park RV as a "very small park" that is both "clean and inviting." This suggests a well-maintained environment despite its size, potentially offering a more intimate and manageable setting compared to larger RV parks. A significant advantage highlighted is its "excellent location" and the availability of "great WiFi," both of which are highly valued by travelers. The reviewer also points out the absence of an on-site office, advising guests to know their assigned site number before arrival. A standout feature mentioned is the presence of "private bath with showers," a notable amenity that distinguishes it from many other parks that typically offer communal, "locker-room style" facilities.
Another reviewer echoes the positive sentiments, stating that the park is "peaceful, clean and has great facilities." They also note that it is "very pet friendly and easy to access," making it a welcoming choice for travelers with animals and those who appreciate convenient site entry and exit. The proximity to recreational areas is also a plus, with mention of a "nice park within a few yards" (though currently under renovation) and another "large green space being built across the river in Early," indicating potential for outdoor activities and enjoying nature.
However, this same reviewer brings attention to a notable aspect of the park's environment: the presence of "a LOT of cats." They elaborate that these are mostly random, unowned cats, with some being notched for a Trap-Neuter-Release (TNR) program and a couple wearing collars. The reviewer suggests that the area is a place where locals abandon unwanted kittens, recounting an incident of a litter being dumped during their stay. While a neighboring RVer took in the kittens, this highlights a potential issue with the local stray cat population. The reviewer also notes some instances of cat feces, suggesting that while dog owners seem responsible, the roaming cats might contribute to this issue. Additionally, a "French goose" is mentioned as another potentially abandoned animal residing in the area.
Despite the "roaming cat situation," the reviewer still rated their stay as five stars, indicating that overall, the park's positive attributes outweighed this concern. However, they do feel it is important for potential guests to be aware that they "may end up with a cat meowing at their door to be let in at night when it is really cold." The reviewer suggests the facility consider installing a feral cat house to provide shelter for these animals. They emphasize that this is "not the facility’s fault at all" but is a factor that could impact a guest's experience. The reviewer even mentioned that if they were staying longer, they would consider building a cat box themselves.
A minor suggestion from one of the reviewers is the installation of picnic tables at the sites, as they had to purchase a small folding table during their stay. This indicates that while the essential amenities are present, some additional conveniences could enhance the guest experience.
Considering the category "RV parks near me," Riverside Park RV - City of Brownwood offers a clean, well-located, and amenity-rich option, particularly for those who appreciate private bathrooms and good WiFi. Its smaller size might appeal to those seeking a quieter, more intimate setting. The pet-friendly policy is another significant draw for travelers with animals. However, the notable presence of a large number of roaming cats is a crucial factor that potential guests, especially those with allergies or who are not comfortable around cats, should consider.
The environment of Riverside Park RV is described as clean and inviting, situated in an excellent location within Brownwood. The proximity to a park (under renovation) and another green space being developed suggests access to outdoor recreation and pleasant surroundings. The presence of mature trees is not explicitly mentioned, but the inviting atmosphere hints at a comfortable and possibly shaded environment. However, the significant population of stray and feral cats is a dominant environmental factor that guests will likely encounter throughout their stay.
Services and features at Riverside Park RV include full hookups at the sites (implied by RV stays), great WiFi, and the highly valued private bathrooms with showers. The pet-friendly policy is another key feature. While there is no on-site office, suggesting a streamlined check-in process (assuming pre-booking and site assignment), the essential amenities for a comfortable RV stay seem to be in place. The lack of picnic tables at each site is a noted absence. The proximity to a park and a developing green space offers potential for outdoor activities and enjoying nature, although the park was under renovation at the time of the review.
Promotional information is not explicitly provided in the reviews. However, based on the positive feedback, potential promotional aspects for Riverside Park RV - City of Brownwood could emphasize: its clean and inviting atmosphere, the excellent location within Brownwood, the reliable and fast WiFi, the unique amenity of private bathrooms with showers, and its pet-friendly policy. Highlighting its peaceful nature and easy accessibility could also attract visitors. However, it would be ethical and prudent to also mention the significant presence of roaming cats on the property, allowing potential guests to make an informed decision based on their comfort level with animals. Addressing the suggestion for picnic tables by indicating future plans or current availability (if any) could also be beneficial. Emphasizing its city-operated status might also instill a sense of reliability and good management.
For local users searching for "RV parks near me" in Brownwood who prioritize cleanliness, a good location, private bathrooms, and excellent WiFi, Riverside Park RV - City of Brownwood is a strong contender. Its pet-friendly policy is another significant advantage for many travelers. However, the notable presence of a large number of roaming cats is a unique environmental factor that potential guests should be aware of and consider based on their personal preferences and potential allergies. Despite this, the consistently positive feedback regarding the park's cleanliness, facilities, and peaceful atmosphere suggests a comfortable and enjoyable stay for those who are not bothered by or even enjoy the company of cats. Contacting the park directly at (325) 642-1592 or +1 325-642-1592 would provide the most up-to-date information on site availability, rates, and any recent changes or updates to the park's amenities and environment.

Riverside Park RV- City of Brownwood Reviews
Very small park, clean and inviting, in an excellent location with great WiFi. There’s no office so be sure to know what site you’re in before heading in.They even have private bath with showers, not the locker-room style found at so many other parks.Only suggestion we have is to install picnic tables. We had to buy a small folding table at the nearby Walmart.
Apr 27, 2025 · christopher albaI hope you like catsAs others have said, this place is peaceful, clean and has great facilities Very pet friendly and easy to access. There is a nice park within a few yards (currently under renovation) and another large green space being built across the river in Early. There are a LOT of cats. Some notched for TNP, a couple with collars, but mostly just random cats everywhere. This is clearly an area where locals dump their unwanted kittens, including a litter someone dumped while we were here. A neighboring RVer took them in luckily bc the week we were here the forecast was for 22° and snow. Really horrible to just dump cats at all, but especially young ones when it’s about to be deadly cold. Dog people seem to Pick up after themselves, but there was a bit of cat poo to dodge. There’s also a French goose who is either a pet or dumped here as well.Other than the roaming cat situation there was really nothing of note. Still a five star stay for us but I do think people need to know that they may end up with a cat meowing at their door to be let in at night when it is really cold. I would love to see the facility put in a feral cat house so they have somewhere to go instead of the cats hoping they meow at the right door :( Not the facility’s fault at all but if we were staying longer than a week, we would be building a cat box
Jan 06, 2025 · Missy RobertsUnfortunately, our trailer needed some emergency work done in town.Fortunately, after the shop made the necessary temp repairs, we were able to secure a spot here. It was well priced and had long paved pull through sites with full hook ups. There are pecan trees and a bit of grass between the sites. There are no picnic tables or fire pits which didn’t bother us much. There are showers and laundry machines which we did not utilize. There is a wonderful and peaceful park right there that has a playground, a field, and walkway. It was a nice and quiet area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely keep this place in mind if ever we are in the area again.
Dec 09, 2021 · Samthologies21Nice park, level site, and good power level. Laundry was good - 3 washers, 4 dryers. Wifi worked well. Right on the bank of the Pecan Bayou. One big strike against the park - way too many feral cats running around and at least 1 couple feeding them and encouraging them to hang around while making no attempt to clean up after them. Thank you very much neighbor for the mess I stepped in! Feral cats are a scourge on the environment. Experts estimate that they are responsible for killing up to 4 billion birds each year and billions more small mammals and reptiles. Their waste is also a health issue to wildlife and humans. If there is no rule against feeding them, there should be.And, if there is a rule, then it needs to be rigorously enforced. The ideal solution is to send an animal control officer and a veterinarian to the park periodically. Animal control could tranquilize the cats and the vet could euthanize them on the spot.
