Rocky Fork Ranch RV Resort & Campground Ohio Introduce
For local users exploring "RV parks near me" in Ohio, Rocky Fork Ranch RV Resort & Campground, located at 74978 Broadhead Rd, Kimbolton, OH 43749, USA, presents itself as a destination with certain amenities. However, it's crucial to consider the experiences shared by recent customers to gain a comprehensive understanding of what to expect. The reviews present a mixed picture, with some highlighting specific facilities while others express significant concerns regarding booking through certain platforms and, more notably, the resort's sales and membership practices.
In terms of the environment and features, Rocky Fork Ranch RV Resort & Campground does offer some appealing aspects. One reviewer mentioned the presence of an "indoor pool and hot pool area," which could be attractive for year-round enjoyment and relaxation, regardless of the weather. The same reviewer also noted that the "showers are kind of clean," suggesting a basic level of hygiene in the communal facilities. The staff is described as "friendly and helpful," which is generally a positive aspect of any hospitality establishment, although one reviewer qualified this by stating their helpfulness is "not outside of what management will allow."
However, a significant point of concern raised by a reviewer who booked through RPI (Resort Parks International) is the quality of the campsites offered through this platform. They reported being assigned "the worst possible sites," characterized by being "unlevel," "tricky to get into," and lacking sewer hookups, even when other sites were empty. Furthermore, they mentioned being provided with 30-amp electrical service instead of the expected 50-amp service. This feedback suggests that the experience can vary significantly depending on the booking method and the specific site assigned.
The most alarming aspect highlighted in the reviews pertains to the resort's sales and membership practices. One detailed account describes an overwhelmingly negative experience stemming from an invitation to a "fun, free day at Rocky Fork Lake" encountered at the Ohio State Fair. This event allegedly quickly transitioned into a "high-pressure sales pitch" for a membership, leaving the potential customers feeling "overwhelmed and mentally drained." The review claims that the sales representatives refused to allow time for consideration, insisting on an immediate decision and employing manipulative tactics, including using the reviewers' children as a selling point.
The subsequent experience of attempting to cancel the membership is described as "incredibly frustrating and deeply disappointing." The reviewers claim that reaching someone to discuss cancellation was "nearly impossible," with a week-long delay in receiving a callback. Instead of facilitating cancellation, the resort allegedly attempted to sell an "upgrade" to the membership. Despite repeated attempts to cancel, the reviewers state they were given different numbers where no one answered and were ultimately told there was "nothing they can do," which has negatively impacted their credit.
More recently, the reviewers claim they were informed they owed a substantial amount of money, which had already been turned over to a collection agency. Even if this amount were paid, they were allegedly told they would still owe additional maintenance fees before they could even begin the process of discussing cancellation. The reviewer characterizes the entire process as "mentally and emotionally exhausting" and describes the sales tactics as "manipulative at best and unethical at worst," alleging that the focus was on trapping people into inescapable contracts rather than providing a good experience for families.
Given these detailed and serious allegations, local users searching for "RV parks near me" should exercise extreme caution and conduct thorough due diligence before considering Rocky Fork Ranch RV Resort & Campground, particularly if it involves any form of membership or long-term contract. While the resort may offer some appealing amenities like an indoor pool and hot tub, the reported issues with campsite quality through certain booking methods and, more significantly, the alleged high-pressure sales tactics and difficulties in canceling memberships, warrant significant consideration.
Currently, there is no information available in the provided text regarding any specific promotional offers or discounts. The focus of the reviews is primarily on the negative experiences related to booking through RPI and the resort's membership sales practices. Therefore, local users should be wary of any unsolicited offers or high-pressure sales tactics they might encounter.
Before making any decisions, it is strongly recommended that potential guests contact Rocky Fork Ranch RV Resort & Campground directly using the provided phone numbers: (740) 498-4134 or +1 740-498-4134. When calling, it would be prudent to inquire specifically about the quality of individual RV sites, the availability of amenities, and, most importantly, to thoroughly understand any membership programs or contracts before entering into any agreements. It would also be wise to seek additional reviews and information from other independent sources to gain a broader perspective on the experiences of other campers and members.
In conclusion, while Rocky Fork Ranch RV Resort & Campground Ohio offers certain amenities such as an indoor pool and hot tub, and has reportedly friendly staff, the negative experiences shared by customers regarding unlevel campsites booked through RPI and, more seriously, the allegations of high-pressure sales tactics and extreme difficulty in canceling memberships, present significant concerns. Local users searching for "RV parks near me" should carefully weigh these reported issues and conduct thorough research before making a booking or considering any membership offers from this resort.

Rocky Fork Ranch RV Resort & Campground Ohio Reviews
If you book through RPI, expect the wost possible sites to be offered. Unlevel sites , tricky to get into, no sewer, even if they are empty, 30 amps instead of 50. They do have an indoor pool and hot pool area. The showers are kind of clean, though don't smell it. The staff are friendly and helpful, but not outside of what management will allow.
Apr 27, 2025 · U.S. NomadOur experience with Rocky Fork Ranch has been incredibly frustrating and deeply disappointing. We first encountered them at the Ohio State Fair, where they invited us out for what was advertised as a fun, free day at Rocky Fork Lake. That day quickly turned into a high-pressure sales pitch that left us feeling overwhelmed and mentally drained. We told them we needed time to think about the offer—they refused. They told us we had to make a decision right then and there. They even used our kids as a selling point, repeatedly saying things like, “Your kids will love this,” and “This will be so good for the family.” It felt manipulative and emotionally exploitative. We were exhausted, and after hours of pressure, we signed the contract just to get out of there. When we got home, reality set in. We knew we had made a mistake. It was going to be a financial burden, and we hadn’t been given a fair chance to consider what we were signing. We attempted to cancel within a couple of days, but trying to reach someone was nearly impossible. When we finally got a call back—a week later—it wasn’t someone to help us cancel. Instead, they tried to sell us an upgrade to the membership. We couldn’t even afford the original one they pressured us into!We explained that we wanted to cancel, and were told we had to speak with someone else. They gave us a different number, but no one ever answered. We tried again and again to cancel. To this day, we’ve never used the membership—not once. We’re not asking for a refund. We’re not asking for compensation. We just want out. But they’re telling us there’s “nothing they can do,” and now it’s hit our credit. That’s simply not fair. And now, most recently, when we spoke with them again about getting out of the contract, they told us we owed $14,955, which had already been turned over to a collection agency. And if we were somehow able to pay that amount, they said we’d still owe another $1,000+ in maintenance fees before we could even begin the process of talking to someone about canceling the membership. It’s beyond outrageous. The entire process has been mentally and emotionally exhausting. The way they keep people in that sales office, pressuring them until they break down and sign, is manipulative at best and unethical at worst. This was never about providing a good experience for families—it was about trapping people into a contract they can’t escape from.If you’re reading this and considering anything with Rocky Fork Ranch, please, think twice. Don’t fall for the “one-day-only” tactics. Don’t let them use your kids or your desire to make memories as a way to pressure you into something that will hurt your family in the long run.We just want out, and we want others to know the truth.
Apr 10, 2025 · Danielle StevensI love this place! Me and my grandma party everytime we come here. I am in love with 3 or 4 of the workers. If people write complains it's because of me and my grandma. If you ever hear loud music and singing it's most likely me and her. I love the pool! The workers are our best friends. We got so close with them. The only bad thing is that I got fanum taxed by John pork
Dec 26, 2024 · Brooke MorelWish I could give less stars. Spoke to the salesmen Ian at this location through text message because apparently a phone call isn't good enough. Cancelled our membership and he stated that everything was cancelled. Woke up this morning to our account being depleted because they charged us. Now no one is answering us. Never get a membership to here, never work with Ian. He is the slimiest salesmen I have ever met...and I do sales.
Oct 29, 2024 · CJ FitzsimonsWards N Paws, Rocky Fork Dude Ranch RV Resort Review - OK, dont get your hopes up.As RPI members, we often stay at affiliated RV parks, and Rocky Fork Dude Ranch RV Resort is one of those parks that we were looking forward to visiting. Unfortunately, while there is no documented policy, it became fairly obvious that they only offer limited hook-up sites (Electric & Water) to affiliated park members. We had requested a full hook-up site for our six-night stay but were told that none were available for the duration of our stay. While the weekend was indeed busy, we noticed a significant number of full hook-up sites that remained vacant throughout our stay. The park itself is very nice, it is quiet, well-kept, and the people we met camping around us were hospitable and friendly. We introduced some of them to Vegemite sandwiches, which they seemed to enjoy! (probably just being polite). It is late in the season and Rocky Fork are still keeping on providing weekend activities. The height of our disappointment was our experience with the trail rides. We booked a ride on Thursday for Sunday, as the Friday and Saturday rides were already fully booked. However, when we arrived for our scheduled ride on Sunday, we were informed that the 12 PM and 2 PM rides were canceled due to the horses "coming back too hot" in the 83°F weather. While I'm not an expert, I have owned horses and grew up around them in Australia. I've also ridden in other countries which have much hotter climates than Ohio. Based on my experience we use heat indexing to manage and prevent overheating, 83°F with 40% humidity isn’t particularly hot for horses, especially for a beginner-level, one-hour trail ride that shouldnt be too strenuous on them. It was a great dissappointment as we were really looking forward to being able, gentally easy back into the saddle again after several years without riding.I would have preferred a more honest explanation for the cancellation rather than a reason that seemed questionable
