Sherwood Forest Mobile Home Community Introduce
While our platform primarily assists users in locating "RV parks near me" for temporary lodging and travel purposes, we also understand that some individuals are in search of more permanent residential communities. In this context, we would like to provide an introduction to Sherwood Forest Mobile Home Community, situated at 6255 County Loop 187, Joplin, MO 64801, USA. If you are considering a manufactured home as a long-term living solution in the Joplin area, this community warrants consideration and further investigation.
Sherwood Forest Mobile Home Community offers a setting for individuals and families seeking a residential environment provided by manufactured homes. Unlike the short-term stays typical of RV parks, a mobile home community provides a more stable and long-term living arrangement where residents generally own their homes and lease the land within the community.
The limited information available online presents a somewhat mixed perspective on Sherwood Forest Mobile Home Community. One recent review expresses significant dissatisfaction, stating it is a "Horrible place to live." This reviewer cites issues such as unresolved maintenance requests (tree limbs on the roof for two years), potential damage to vehicles from falling tree limbs and walnuts, and an intention to move. This negative feedback highlights the importance of prospective residents thoroughly investigating the current living conditions and management responsiveness.
In contrast, another review offers a historical perspective, recalling a positive experience from 1974. The reviewer mentioned living in a new mobile home at the time and noted the presence of a "nice" pool and clubhouse. The fact that the park has existed for fifty years is acknowledged as "amazeing," suggesting a degree of longevity and establishment within the Joplin area. However, it is crucial to recognize that conditions and amenities can change significantly over such a long period, and past experiences may not reflect the current state of the community.
A third comment seems to clarify a Google Maps visit attribution error, mentioning playing drums at a nearby location and noting the proximity of a lodge to the park's water tower. While this doesn't directly address the living conditions within the park, it does provide a geographical reference point.
Given these contrasting and limited perspectives, it is challenging to provide a comprehensive overview of the current environment, services, and features of Sherwood Forest Mobile Home Community. However, based on the general nature of established mobile home communities and the historical positive mention, we can speculate on some potential aspects, while emphasizing the need for direct verification.
Potentially, the environment of Sherwood Forest Mobile Home Community might include:
- Individual lots for manufactured homes, varying in size and layout.
- Mature trees, as indicated by the negative review concerning falling limbs and walnuts. While mature trees can enhance the aesthetic appeal and provide shade, they also necessitate proper maintenance.
- Community roads and pathways for resident and visitor access.
- Possible green spaces or landscaping within the community.
In terms of services that might be offered:
- Basic utility hookups at each lot, including water, sewer, and electricity. Residents would typically be responsible for their individual utility bills.
- Waste management services for the community.
- Maintenance of community-owned infrastructure such as roads and common areas.
- Potentially, management services to oversee park operations and address resident concerns. The negative review raises questions about the effectiveness of maintenance services currently.
Features that may or may not still be present, based on the historical positive review, could include:
- A swimming pool for residents' use.
- A clubhouse that might have served as a community gathering space or offered amenities. Its current condition and availability would need to be verified.
- Potentially, other recreational facilities or common areas.
Currently, there is no promotional information available online for Sherwood Forest Mobile Home Community. Individuals interested in residency would need to contact the management directly to inquire about lot availability, pricing for land leases, community fees, and any current incentives.
The significant discrepancy between the recent negative review and the historical positive comment underscores the critical need for prospective residents to conduct thorough due diligence. This should include:
- Contacting the management at (417) 499-1315 or +1 417-499-1315 to ask detailed questions about the current state of the community, maintenance procedures, rules and regulations, fees, and available lots.
- Visiting the community in person to assess the current environment, the condition of the lots and common areas, and to observe the overall atmosphere.
- If possible, speaking with current residents (beyond the online reviews) to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the living experience at Sherwood Forest Mobile Home Community.
- Specifically inquiring about the tree maintenance policies and the management's response to resident concerns.
While Sherwood Forest Mobile Home Community is not an "RV park near me," it represents a long-term residential option in the Joplin area for those interested in manufactured housing. Understanding the differences between the temporary nature of RV parks and the permanent or long-term nature of mobile home communities is essential when making housing decisions.
In conclusion, Sherwood Forest Mobile Home Community in Joplin, MO, offers a long-established residential option. However, the presence of a recent, strongly negative review regarding maintenance and property conditions necessitates careful consideration and thorough investigation by any potential residents. Contacting the management directly and visiting the community are crucial steps in determining if Sherwood Forest Mobile Home Community meets individual housing needs and expectations.

Sherwood Forest Mobile Home Community Reviews
Horrible place to live… been here almost 3 years and still have tree limbs on our roof that we asked to be removed 2 years ago… Your vehicles will be utterly damaged by falling limbs from the old trees and walnuts will leave golfball size hail dents when windy/raining… currently looking to move!!
