Nestled alongside the beautiful Ouachita River, Sterlington RV Park boasts a well-maintained environment that many guests have appreciated. Whether you are traveling in a large motorhome or a smaller trailer, you'll find the sites to be accommodating and well-prepared for your arrival.
One of the standout features of Sterlington RV Park is its exceptional access to the Ouachita River. The park features a great boat launch, allowing guests to easily get their boats onto the water for leisurely cruises or more adventurous outings. For those who enjoy fishing, the river offers ample opportunities to cast a line and reel in a variety of fish. Imagine spending your days boating along the calm waters or enjoying the peaceful art of fishing right from the park's access point. This direct river access truly sets Sterlington RV Park apart for those seeking waterfront recreation.
According to customer reviews, the management of Sterlington RV Park is often commended for being wonderful and very accommodating. This personal touch can significantly enhance your stay, providing assistance and ensuring your needs are met. Knowing that the park is run by attentive individuals can offer peace of mind and contribute to a positive overall experience.
In terms of services and features, Sterlington RV Park offers several conveniences designed to make your stay more comfortable. For those needing to take care of laundry, the park provides washers and dryers that are open 24/7 and are reported to be quite affordable at just $1.50 per wash and per dry. This round-the-clock access is particularly beneficial for travelers and long-term residents who may have varying schedules. Additionally, an outdoor sink is available for guests who may not have one in their RV or if their own sink is temporarily out of service. For RVs without bathroom facilities, or as an extra convenience, the park also offers a bathroom with a shower, a valuable amenity for many campers.
Furthermore, Sterlington RV Park provides essential utilities such as free Wi-Fi, water, and electric hookups. These complimentary services add significant value to your stay, allowing you to stay connected, have access to fresh water, and power your RV without incurring extra charges. The availability of free Wi-Fi is particularly appreciated by travelers who need to stay in touch with family, work remotely, or simply enjoy online entertainment.
However, it is important to consider all aspects of the park based on the available feedback. Some customer reviews have highlighted potential drawbacks that are worth noting. One recurring issue mentioned is cellular service, with at least one Verizon customer reporting very limited connectivity, often struggling to get even one bar of service. If reliable mobile communication is crucial for you, it would be wise to consider this limitation.
Another significant concern raised in the reviews is the presence of an odor emanating from a nearby manufacturing plant. This smell has been described as similar to spoiled seafood and can affect the surrounding area, including the RV park. While the park owners cannot control external factors such as nearby industrial activity, it is an environmental consideration that potential guests should be aware of. Similarly, the view of the factory has been mentioned as less than ideal.
One particularly negative review detailed issues with noise complaints and a sudden eviction without prior warnings. The guest reported being told to leave the following day with three weeks remaining on their stay, citing a lack of communication regarding the noise issues. While the availability of 24/7 laundry, the outdoor sink, the bathroom with a shower, and the free Wi-Fi, water, and electric were acknowledged as positives, the reviewer strongly criticized the owner's handling of the situation and the overall negative environmental factors, ultimately recommending against staying at Sterlington RV Park.
It is crucial for prospective guests to weigh these contrasting experiences and consider their own priorities and sensitivities. While some reviewers praise the well-maintained facilities, the convenient river access, and the accommodating management, others point out significant drawbacks related to the external environment and communication regarding park rules.
To make an informed decision, it is recommended to contact Sterlington RV Park directly at (318) 237-1681 or +1 318-237-1681 to inquire about current conditions, availability, and any specific concerns you may have. Speaking with the park management can provide the most up-to-date information and allow you to assess whether this RV park meets your individual needs and expectations. While the park offers appealing features such as riverside access and essential amenities, being aware of the potential downsides, as highlighted in customer reviews, is essential for a satisfactory camping experience in the "RV parks near me" category.

Sterlington RV Park "On the Ouachita" Reviews
The park is maintained well. Great boat launch and acees to fishing the river. The sites are clean spacious, level and have great hookups. The gentlemen running the park are wonderful and very accommodating. The negatives are not anything that can be controlled by the owners of the establishment. As a verizon customer, you're lucky to have one bar of service at the most. Whatever is manufactured in the plant down the road , makes everywhere smell like spoiled seafood.
May 03, 2022 · MK SGot noise complaints 3 times was only told about the last one also, While being told; I have to be out by tomorrow. No warning and I wasn’t even told ahead of time. I had 3 weeks left on my stay too. Lack of communication sucks especially when my fiance and i are working on the road. We had to call off work for the next day wich is going to mess up our pay in order to get a new campground. I am not impressed at all! I understand the noise complaints and having to get evicted but being told abt them and getting told "you typically don't get warnings about those type of things" in the owners words. All said and done prior to all of this happening I will say...Washers and dryers open 24/7 and reallt cheap $1.50 per wash and per dry. outdoor sink if you don’t have one or if yours aren't working at the time. Bathroom with shower always comes in handy scince my camper doesn’t have either of those entities. Free Wi-Fi, water and electric! But the owner is a terrible man! I don't recommend staying here. Your right next to a factory that produces a terrible smell and view. The place down the road behind clawdaddys is a lot cheaper!
Mar 04, 2025 · Hope SheaThey are in the beginning stages of making this a nice RV park . Right now it's ok for a night or 2 . It does have hook ups and a lot of grass with gravel road. It is right on the same land of the recreational area. The two good ole guys were very accommodating very nice and appreciative that we used their facility. Again it's not fancy but the hospitality was the greatest reason for 5 stars. It is dog friendly but there is not a dog specific area or bath room or shower. Thank you Gentlemen and best of luck to your future in making your dream come true!!
