Sunshine MH & RV Resort Introduce
If you're searching for "RV parks near me" or considering a move to a mobile home park in the Lake Placid, Florida area, Sunshine MH & RV Resort, located at 303 FL-70, Lake Placid, FL 33852, USA, presents itself as a destination for both short-term RV stays and potentially long-term mobile home living. To provide a comprehensive and objective introduction, we will analyze the available user reviews alongside general expectations for such a resort.
One detailed review recounts a significantly negative experience during a two-month winter stay. This guest highlights several issues that potential visitors should carefully consider. The initial problem involved an accident while being guided into a camping spot by resort personnel. The reviewer states that the staff member's guidance from a "poor direction" resulted in the rear of their RV hitting a neighbor's car. The reviewer also notes that the staff member parking them was not visible in the rearview mirror and did not stop them before the collision. The resort reportedly did not take responsibility for the accident, leaving the guest to cover the damages. Adding to this, the resort's maintenance manager allegedly admitted that the staff member "didn’t know what he was doing." This incident raises concerns about the level of staff training and the potential for maneuvering difficulties within the park.
Beyond the parking incident, the same reviewer reported several recurring infrastructure and amenity issues. The water supply was reportedly contaminated twice during their two-month stay, and water pressure was frequently minimal. Internet service was described as unreliable, "didn’t work the majority of the time." Furthermore, the electric bill included "additional charges" attributed to a portion of the entire resort's electricity usage, which might be unexpected for some guests. The swimming pool heater malfunctioned twice, rendering it too cold for use. The fact that long-term residents ("full timers") decided to sell their property after over ten years, citing "negative issues in this resort," further underscores the seriousness of these concerns.
The only positive aspect mentioned by this reviewer was the friendliness and accommodating nature of the people who played pickleball at the resort. This suggests that there might be some positive social interactions available, particularly around specific activities.
In contrast, another reviewer offers a much more positive perspective, stating they have stayed at Sunshine MH & RV Resort for three winters and consider it a "Great Park!!" This reviewer praises the location, noting its short drive to both coasts, proximity to casinos, race tracks, and shopping. They also highlight ongoing investments in the park by the owners and commend the staff for their hard work in creating a "place like Home." This contrasting review suggests that experiences at Sunshine MH & RV Resort can vary significantly.
Given these divergent experiences, it is crucial for potential residents and visitors to weigh these perspectives carefully. The negative review raises serious concerns about staff guidance, infrastructure reliability (water and internet), billing practices, and amenity maintenance (pool heater). The positive review emphasizes location, ongoing improvements, and a welcoming staff.
Based on general knowledge of RV and mobile home resorts, Sunshine MH & RV Resort likely offers a range of amenities and services. Combining this with the limited information from the reviews, we can infer the following potential features:
- RV Sites: These would typically include hookups for water, sewer, and electricity. The incident described in the negative review suggests that site layout and accessibility might vary, and professional guidance for parking may not always be reliable.
- Mobile Home Lots: Designated spaces for permanent or long-term mobile home residents.
- Water and Sewer Services: Essential utilities, although the negative review indicates potential issues with water quality and pressure.
- Electrical Hookups: Necessary for both RVs and mobile homes, but billing practices should be clarified with management.
- Internet Access: While offered, the reliability appears to be questionable based on one review.
- Swimming Pool: An amenity that experienced maintenance issues according to one guest.
- Recreational Activities: The mention of friendly pickleball players suggests some form of recreational facilities or organized activities. Other common amenities might include a clubhouse, shuffleboard courts, or other outdoor games.
- Laundry Facilities: Most RV and mobile home resorts offer on-site laundry for convenience.
- Maintenance Services: While a maintenance manager is mentioned, the responsiveness and effectiveness of the maintenance appear to be areas of concern based on the pool heater issue.
Promotional information is not included in the provided text. To obtain details about current rates for RV sites and mobile home lots, any special offers for short-term or long-term stays, a comprehensive list of amenities and services, park rules and regulations, and to inquire about the reported issues with water, internet, and billing, it is imperative to contact Sunshine MH & RV Resort directly at (863) 465-4815 or +1 863-465-4815.
Lake Placid, Florida, offers a central location in the state, potentially providing convenient access to both the Atlantic and Gulf coasts, as mentioned by the positive reviewer. The proximity to casinos, race tracks, and shopping could be attractive to some visitors and residents. However, the internal conditions and management of the resort appear to be critical factors to consider based on the contrasting reviews.
In conclusion, Sunshine MH & RV Resort in Lake Placid, FL, presents a mixed picture based on the available user reviews. While one reviewer praises its location, ongoing improvements, and friendly staff, another details significant issues with staff guidance during parking, unreliable infrastructure (water and internet), unexpected billing practices, and amenity maintenance. Potential visitors and residents should carefully weigh these contrasting experiences and conduct thorough due diligence by contacting the resort management directly to address the concerns raised and obtain comprehensive information about the current conditions, services, and policies of Sunshine MH & RV Resort before making a decision.

Sunshine MH & RV Resort Reviews
My lady and I just spent 2 winter months at the Sunshine RV Resort in Lake Placid, FL which we paid for in advance. As a result of our stay, we will never return to that resort. When we arrived, we were shown to our camping spot by one of their personnel. He took us in to the sight from a poor direction not leaving much room to maneuver. As we were turning to back into the sight, the rear of my RV hit the front fender of the neighbor’s car putting a dent in it. The RV man parking us was not in view of my rearview mirror and did not stop me until after the accident. We ended up having to go around the block and enter from the other direction. As a result, the resort wouldn’t take any responsibility for the accident and I had to pay for it myself. The resort maintenance manager told me that the man parking us didn’t know what he was doing. In addition to this initial problem, we experienced, the water was contaminated twice during our stay and the water pressure was minimal several times. The internet service didn’t work the majority of the time either. When we got our electric bill, there were additional charges which we were told was for our portion of the entire resort’s electric bill. Also during our stay, the heater on the swimming pool went out twice making it too cold to get into. Our neighbors, who were full timers, put their place up for sale after more than 10 years there during our stay and told us they have had enough of the negative issues in this resort. The only good thing I can say about it is that the people who played pickleball there were very friendly and accommodating. Think carefully before you decide to visit this RV resort.
Mar 26, 2025 · Art KonaWe have stayed here for 3 Winters now. Great Park!! The location is a short drive to each coast, near Casinos, Race Tracks, and shopping. The owners continue to invest in the park. The Staff is Great and works hard to make it a place like Home.
Mar 02, 2025 · Andy CaspersonThis little gem is quiet, away from the traffic of the coasts. There are horseshoe, pickleball, golf, fishing, bingo, euchre, poker enthusiasts that meet here every winter. We were welcomed by most residents. One of the friendliest places to winter in Florida.
Mar 25, 2025 · Pam WrightWe’ve stayed in many RV parks, a few in Florida. Sunshine is one of the best. Great pool. Plenty to do. And the people in the park are the nicest I’ve come across. We will definitely be back.
Mar 09, 2025 · Glenn GThis was our third time staying, ownership has clearly invested in this resort . adding new pickle ball courts , The park is well maintained and is a delightful destination for both adults and families . The dog park is a big draw for us
