Washburn Lake Village MHC Introduce
Welcome to Washburn Lake Village MHC, located at 59502 Long Lake Rd Lot 18, Colon, MI 49040, USA. Situated near Colon, Michigan, Washburn Lake Village MHC is primarily a mobile home community. For local users searching for "RV parks near me," information regarding RV accommodations at Washburn Lake Village MHC is limited and requires direct inquiry. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview based on the available information, primarily drawing from the recent customer reviews, which highlight critical concerns regarding the park's policies and interactions with visitors with service animals.
The most recent customer reviews for Washburn Lake Village MHC focus on a serious issue involving the treatment of a visitor with service dogs. One review recounts an incident where an individual attempting to visit their sister, a resident of the park, was allegedly confronted aggressively by the manager due to the presence of their service dogs. According to this account, the manager appeared immediately upon the visitor's arrival and while the dogs were being taken to relieve themselves. The visitor reports suffering a panic attack due to the manager's behavior, who allegedly demanded that the dogs be put back in the vehicle immediately and refused to leave the visitor alone until this was done. The visitor, who identifies as disabled, states that they offered to show the dogs' identification cards, but the manager refused to look at them and did not express any concern for the visitor's disability or the nature of the service animals. The incident reportedly occurred on a Sunday, and the visitor had driven from Indiana to deliver furniture to their sister.
A subsequent review directly references this incident, expressing an understanding that while a property owner might have general policies regarding animals, federal law under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) mandates the accommodation of service animals. This reviewer speculates that the issue might have arisen due to the presence of more than one service dog. They also raise the possibility of a change in ownership and express hope that the park is adhering to federal regulations regarding service animals.
These reviews raise significant legal and ethical concerns regarding Washburn Lake Village MHC's policies and their implementation, particularly concerning the rights of individuals with disabilities and their service animals. The alleged actions of the manager, as described in the reviews, could potentially constitute a violation of federal law protecting the rights of individuals with service animals in places of public accommodation, which can include mobile home parks.
For local users specifically searching for "RV parks near me," the provided information does not explicitly confirm whether Washburn Lake Village MHC offers designated RV sites for short-term or long-term stays. Mobile home parks sometimes accommodate RVs, but this is not a standard offering, and the current reviews do not provide any information on this aspect. If you are interested in potentially staying at Washburn Lake Village MHC with an RV, it is imperative to contact them directly at (517) 227-3185 or +1 517-227-3185 to inquire about the availability of RV sites, the types of hookups offered (e.g., water, electricity, sewer), site sizes, and any associated rates or policies for RV stays. Given the serious allegations in the recent reviews, it would be advisable to inquire specifically about their policies regarding visitors and residents with service animals to ensure compliance with federal law.
Washburn Lake Village MHC primarily operates as a mobile home park, offering lots for rent to individuals who own their mobile homes. The recent reviews do not provide information about the general environment, amenities, or services offered by the park to its residents. However, the alleged incident involving the visitor with service dogs could indicate a potentially unwelcoming or discriminatory environment for individuals with disabilities or those who require service animal assistance. Prospective residents who rely on service animals or anticipate visits from individuals with service animals should exercise extreme caution and thoroughly investigate the park's policies and practices regarding service animals before considering residency.
Due to the critical and concerning nature of the available reviews, providing details about positive environmental aspects, services, or features based on this information is not possible. The feedback focuses solely on the alleged discriminatory treatment of a visitor with service animals, which overshadows any other potential aspects of the community.
Similarly, no promotional information is available in the provided data. Given the serious allegations in the recent reviews, it is unlikely that any special offers are being highlighted publicly. Any potential incentives for moving into the community would need to be directly inquired about by contacting the park management. However, prospective residents should prioritize understanding and ensuring their rights and the rights of their visitors with service animals will be respected and accommodated in accordance with federal law.
In conclusion, the recent customer reviews for Washburn Lake Village MHC in Colon, Michigan, raise significant concerns regarding the park's policies and the behavior of its management towards visitors with service animals. The alleged actions could potentially violate federal law under the ADA. For local users searching for "RV parks near me," direct inquiry is necessary to determine if RV sites are available and to understand the park's policies on service animals for both visitors and potential residents. For those considering renting a mobile home lot, it is strongly recommended to thoroughly investigate the park's policies regarding service animals and disability accommodations, and to seek assurances that federal law will be strictly adhered to, before making any decisions regarding residency at Washburn Lake Village MHC.

Washburn Lake Village MHC Reviews
Just read the last review about the visitor with service dogs , I understand that they can deny her to have any animals in the park, however it's a federal law that says you must allow service pets , which brings me to a conclusion that it was because there were more than just one service dog ? The ADA for the federal government can intervene in cases like this that being said , I don't know if they sold the property and there is a new owner or not as I don't live here , I don't live in the state of Michigan but I am going by what I know is the federal law , I certainly hope they are following the rules
Dec 13, 2021 · Big D.I'm not allowed to visit my sister that lives there because i have service dogs. The manager was aggressive about it and was at my sister's trailer as soon as I showed up, and, I tried to let my dogs go potty. I suffered a panic attack due to her. She demanded that I put my dogs up in my truck immediately and would not leave me alone until I did as she demanded me. I am disabled. I even offered to show her my dogs I.D. cards and she refused to look ay them and did not care. All she cared about was showing her ass and trying to command her authority at a disabled person... and on a Sunday, at that. I drove from Indiana, to drop off furniture for my sister and I was discriminated against for being disabled and having service dogs.
Jun 04, 2018 · Ellen “Topazz” CurtisNice and quiet. Friendly neighbors but can't seem to get things fixed. Been over a year and still haven't had things fixed and can't get the main office in Coldwater to return calls. Still waiting to hear if our water levels are safe
Jul 21, 2018 · Samm KleinThe grounds are nice but alot of empty and very run down trailers are just sitting. We have been waiting fir our stove to be replaced after the pilot light wouldn't start because the line it goes around is so old and rusted. One toilet doesn't work at all and the maim one barely does. We have wrecked carpeting and holes in our kitchen floor that we documented and took pictures off allowing bad bugs in and i suffer from lupus. Plus the bedroom door was wrecked whe3we moved in over a year ago. We filled out all the papers of things already wrong before we moved in promised to be taken care of and nothing. Over a year later
