Whether you're planning a family vacation, a weekend escape with friends, or a solo adventure in nature, Allegheny River Campground provides the perfect setting to create lasting memories.
For those seeking a comfortable and convenient stay, Allegheny River Campground features well-appointed cabin rentals. According to recent visitors, the cabins are equipped with bathrooms and can comfortably accommodate families. While some reviewers noted that the mattresses in the cabins are thin, they found the overall experience enjoyable. If you require more amenities, consider the cottage option, which offers a larger refrigerator, a two-burner cooktop, and a full set of plates and cooking utensils. Please note that linens are not provided in the cabins or the cottage, so be sure to bring your own for a comfortable night's sleep.
If you prefer a more traditional camping experience, Allegheny River Campground offers both tent and RV sites. Notably, some RV sites are equipped with full hookups, a significant advantage for those traveling with recreational vehicles and seeking the convenience of water, electricity, and sewer connections. Tent sites provide a more rustic feel, allowing you to immerse yourself in the natural surroundings. One reviewer specifically mentioned site T7 as a tent-only location with direct creek access, which is ideal for those interested in water activities. However, it's important to be aware that this particular site may experience some noise due to its proximity to a nearby house.
One of the standout features of Allegheny River Campground, consistently praised by visitors, is its exceptional recreational facilities. The campground boasts a phenomenal pool, perfect for cooling off on a hot summer day and providing hours of fun for all ages. In addition to the pool, families will appreciate the mini golf course, offering a friendly and engaging activity for everyone. For a bit of leisurely fun, peddle carts are also available for rent, allowing you to explore the campground at your own pace. And after a day of activities, be sure to treat yourself to the tasty ice cream offered on-site.
For those who enjoy water-based activities, Allegheny River Campground offers direct access to the Allegheny River. Several reviewers mentioned the enjoyable experience of tubing down the river. The campground even has a shop where you can purchase tubes, making it convenient to partake in this refreshing activity. The gentle currents of the river provide a relaxing and fun way to spend an afternoon.
The overall cleanliness of Allegheny River Campground has been highlighted in customer reviews, contributing to a pleasant and comfortable stay. Furthermore, the staff is frequently described as friendly and helpful, readily assisting guests with any needs or inquiries. This commitment to service ensures a positive and welcoming atmosphere for all visitors.
While the majority of reviews are positive, it's important to consider all feedback to make an informed decision. One reviewer who stayed at a tent site during a holiday weekend reported noise disturbances from other campers playing loud music and intrusions onto their campsite from individuals accessing the creek and a nearby house. While the campground administration responded to a noise complaint regarding early morning hours, the reviewer expressed disappointment that nighttime quiet hours were not as effectively enforced. It's worth noting that the campground does not currently have a specific alcohol policy, which may contribute to some noise issues. However, the positive experiences of other campers suggest that these issues may be isolated incidents or more prevalent during peak holiday periods.
Allegheny River Campground is also a pet-friendly destination, allowing you to bring your furry companions along on your camping adventure. This thoughtful amenity ensures that your entire family can enjoy the great outdoors together.

Allegheny River Campground Reviews
We spent a wonderful weekend at this campground with our extended family. We rented 2 cabins and 1 cottage. The cabins had bathrooms and slept all 4 of us comfortably. I must say the beds are very uncomfortable, very thin mattress. But all in all, understandable. The cottage had the same types of mattresses but a larger fridge, 2 burner cooktop as well as all of the plates and cooking utensils. You do need to provide your own linens. The campground has a phenomenal pool, mini golf, little peddle cart and really tasty ice cream. We are regular campers and were very impressed with this campground. We did notice full hookup sites which if we came back we would definitely take advantage of. My kids purchased tubes from the shop and did a mini float down the river.Overall this was a very clean, fun place. The staff we encountered was also very friendly and helpful.Recommend a visit to this location.
Jun 28, 2024 · Juli AnneThe campground is nice, but our experience was not. We stayed at site T7 (tent only) on a holiday weekend. The campground had a special display of fireworks, and we had fun tubing in the creek. Their pool is very nice. We had hoped for a quiet getaway, but this was not the case. Other campers enjoyed playing loud music in the creek, and we were awoken one night at 1 am from loud music within the campground. Be aware that if you stay at site T7, there is a house directly across the creek that was also quite noisy while we were there. We did have a noise issue at 7 am in the morning (quiet hours are supposedly 10 pm to 8 am), but the camp admin responded to my email about that and said they would take care of it. Other mornings were quieter for us. I wish the nighttime quiet hours had been enforced just as quickly. The campground does not have an alcohol policy or guidelines, so I’m quite sure that some of the loud music was a result of the partying that happened at all hours. Not the family environment I was expecting. We also had multiple people walk across our tent site during our stay. They were pulling tubes out of the creek (our site had direct access to the creek) and also to gain access to the house across the creek. Very disrespectful to our space. As much as we enjoyed the creek access, tubing, and pool, the noise disturbances and constant intrusions on our campsite are enough to say that we will not return to this campground. I did email about my experience to the campground, but only received an apology in response. There was no indication that they would follow up with my complaints to reinforce their rules in the future.
Jul 11, 2024 · Shelley MathiasI really loved staying at Allegheny River Campground. It was easy to get to and the sites were good sized. We were on #27 and had a beautiful spot right on the river, complete with a beautiful sound. Our site was partially shaded with some beautiful trees. Campground was very neat and restrooms were clean. We are going back in September. I don't have kids, but there was alot for them to do; pool, splash pad, playground, games. I would highly recommend Allegheny River Campground.

Jun 17, 2024 · 2 Soldiers Moving AdminSo, the first day was fine because it wasn't busy and it was a Thursday. The Splash Pad the kids loved as well as the pool and the rails. Friday is usually check-in day for the weekend and for Saturday activities. It was crazy. Besides, almost everyone was breaking the rules, such as more than 4 on a golf cart and standing on the back instead of sitting. This is bad, especially since they were kids. I saw some people had their own golf cart. Dogs barking all the time, quiet time at 10 which did not happen, walking through people's sites, drunks at bingo which this campsite prohibits alcoholic beverages, campers especially kids not listening and doing whatever with no supervision, people letting their dogs walk wherever. I guess they did not want to go to the dog park. I mean, that is what it's for. People are going more than 5 miles per hour, which is funny and makes no sense because the golf carts go faster than that. People are leaving and coming back at 6 am. I think that most of these people booked online lied about how many people they have. This one unit that was across from use had at least 2 or 3 adults and like 4 plus kids. The cabins have tiny heaters, so bring extra blankets to keep warm. The cabins we were in had no bathrooms. I was disappointed that the mini fridge was just that, a mini fridge with no freezer. It didn't hold my water bottles as they kept falling out. The kids were kinda bored and disappointed as they thought it would be a whole weekend of planned activities. They do have many things for kids to do. Another thing that caught me off guard was safety. As I turned the corner to go to the women's restroom, a man was standing by the door holding the door open, and their were 2 or 3 boys around the age of 4 and older where in the women's rest room. I was caught off guard and wondered why they just didn't go to the men's side with their dad, which was the man that was holding the door to do whatever. There was another man who was always at the bathrooms sitting there on his phone trying to get internet services because internet service and cell service were really bad there. Cell service was basically nonexistent! Try this camp site if you want, but we will not be coming back again. Make sure you take cash unless you want to pay the 4% card fee.
