One reviewer aptly describes Hart-Tish Park as "small but big with heart." This suggests that while the physical size might be limited, the park offers a welcoming and enjoyable experience. The fact that the lake is a "10mph lake primarily for fishing" contributes significantly to the serene atmosphere. This restriction on speed boats and jet skis ensures that the lake remains calm and safe for activities like kayaking and paddle boarding, making it particularly enjoyable for those seeking a peaceful water experience.
The mention of potential "fire restrictions" and "store closures due to lake level" during July, August, and September highlights the importance of checking the website for updates, especially during the peak summer months. The fees mentioned are "$5 day use per car" and "$7 to launch a boat," providing clear information for those planning day trips or bringing their own watercraft. The presence of a "store" is noted, but it "does not carry a lot" and should not be relied upon as a full market. However, it does offer rentals for "paddle boards and kayaks," making it convenient for visitors to enjoy the lake without bringing their own equipment.
Regarding camping, it is explicitly stated that it is "dry with no electricity or water at the sites," and this includes the RV area. This is a crucial piece of information for campers and RVers who need to be prepared for self-sufficient camping. However, the park does provide "regular restrooms with water at the camp sites and at the RV area," ensuring access to basic hygiene facilities.
The availability of camping and RV spots even after the water level passes the boat ramp (accessible through recreation.gov unless otherwise posted) is a valuable feature for those planning trips outside the peak boating season. This suggests that the park remains accessible for overnight stays even when lake conditions might affect boating activities.
The positive anecdote about "Beverly" at the park being "so kind and generous" highlights the friendly and helpful nature of the staff, which can significantly enhance the visitor experience.

The availability of paddle board and kayak rentals makes it accessible even for those who don't own their own equipment.
The "small but big with heart" description suggests a welcoming and intimate atmosphere that might appeal to those who prefer smaller, less crowded natural areas. The mention of the "wonderful" drive also subtly promotes the overall experience of visiting the park.

Absolutely breathtaking place. Serene, lovely lake. Definitely rent a kayak and explore! Pack a picnic lunch and blanket for an afternoon nap by the shore. And whatever you do don’t forget your camera!
Jun 22, 2024 · Kym Den HartogHart-Tish Park is small but big with heart. The facilities are minimal so don't expect a resort. They have camping, RV spaces (in the parking area by the store), a boat ramp as well as a day use area. $5 day use per car and $7 to launch a boat. The store does not carry a lot so do not expect a market. You can rent some paddle boards and kayaks. Camping is dry with no electricity or water at the sites, this includes the RV area. There are regular restrooms with water at the camp sites and at the RV area. Check the website for further info, especially in July/August/September for any fire restrictions and/or store closures due to lake level. After the water level passes the boat ramp they typically close but camping/RV's are still available through recreation.gov unless otherwise posted. The lake is also a 10mph lake primarily for fishing which makes paddle boards and kayaks a lot more enjoyable. No speed boats or jet skies or the like. Recently, I neglected to bring my paddle and my wallet after a 45 minute drive. Beverly took care of me. So kind and generous. I was thankful for her offer and generosity. I later paid her back on another trip a couple of weeks later. Lovely people and a lovely lake. It is so peaceful and beautiful there. The drive alone is wonderful.
Jun 16, 2021 · Drew Allen (MrDrew)I know it's probably closed now because the water levels are low... But I love this lake/park the guys that work there are always cool and helpful, it's a great place to take the family... Can't wait till next year!
Aug 20, 2020 · Nathan WilliamsBeautiful, clean, quiet lake. Very nice staff at the store by the boat launch. Wind for an extended time in the afternoon made paddle board somewhat of a challenge. Plan to go paddling early or in evening.
Aug 06, 2019 · Jamie CalvertNice place for camping. Still smokey and water was low. Tent sited are walk in and they have wheelbarrows. Most sites are flat. All have bear bins. Flush toilets.
