Hayes State Park Campground-East Loop Introduce
For local outdoor enthusiasts in Michigan searching for "camping near me," Hayes State Park Campground-East Loop, located in Tipton, MI 49287, USA, offers a promising option for a relaxing getaway. While a specific phone number isn't provided in the available information, Hayes State Park itself is a well-known destination that likely has contact details available through official Michigan State Park channels. The East Loop of the campground presents a particular set of characteristics that potential visitors should be aware of.
Based on the customer reviews, the environment of Hayes State Park Campground-East Loop is generally considered "nice." A significant advantage highlighted by a camper is the apparent larger size of the campsites in the East Loop compared to the West Loop. This suggests that those with larger tents or RVs might find the East Loop more accommodating in terms of space. Furthermore, the presence of woods behind most of the campsites is noted as a positive aspect, contributing to a greater sense of privacy for campers. Imagine enjoying your campsite nestled amongst the trees, offering a natural barrier and a more secluded feel. This feature is particularly appealing for those seeking a more immersive and private outdoor experience.
In terms of services and features, the reviews provide insights into some key amenities. The presence of a dump station with three stalls is mentioned as a positive, with one reviewer noting that it seems "newer than others at state parks." This is a valuable feature for RV campers who require a convenient and well-maintained facility for waste disposal. While the East Loop itself may not have water hookups at every site (as some were observed in the West Loop), the availability of a dump station indicates that basic RV camping needs are catered to. Additionally, the proximity to the lake and a beach area is evident from one reviewer's account of "playing at the beach," suggesting that water-based recreational activities are a significant draw of Hayes State Park and accessible to those staying in the East Loop.
A notable feature of Hayes State Park Campground-East Loop, as perceived by one visitor, is its suitability as a weekend retreat, particularly for those who appreciate the park's namesake. The personal connection of celebrating a significant accomplishment at a place sharing their last name highlights the park's appeal and the positive memories associated with it. The experience of meeting new friends at the beach further suggests a social and welcoming atmosphere within the park. While one reviewer mentioned that the campground was "a little tight to get around in," especially with a 40' rig, they also acknowledged that navigating a parking lot with a large vehicle presents similar challenges. Despite this minor inconvenience, their overall stay was described as "relaxing," indicating that the positive aspects outweighed the navigational difficulty.
However, a significant drawback mentioned in one of the reviews is the "horrendous" water quality. The water was described as "cloudy with a foul odor," which is a serious concern for any camper relying on campground water sources for drinking, cooking, or washing. This is a crucial piece of information for potential visitors to consider. It might be advisable to bring an ample supply of potable water or have a reliable water filtration system if planning to camp in the East Loop. This issue with the water quality is a notable con that prospective campers should be prepared for.
Currently, there is no specific promotional information available for Hayes State Park Campground-East Loop in the provided reviews. However, the inherent appeal of a state park often lies in its natural beauty and recreational opportunities. The proximity to a lake with a beach, the presence of wooded and relatively spacious campsites in the East Loop, and the availability of a newer dump station could be considered inherent advantages that might attract local campers. To learn about any specific promotions, reservation procedures, or further details about the campground and Hayes State Park in general, it is recommended to visit the official Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) website or contact them directly.
In conclusion, Hayes State Park Campground-East Loop offers a camping experience with the advantages of potentially larger and more private, wooded campsites, along with access to the recreational activities of Hayes State Park, including a beach. The presence of a newer dump station is a plus for RVers. However, a significant concern regarding the poor water quality has been raised and should be taken into consideration. For local users searching for "camping near me" in the Tipton, MI area, Hayes State Park Campground-East Loop presents a mixed bag of positives and negatives. It is advisable to weigh the benefits of spacious sites and lake access against the reported water issue and to perhaps seek more information from official sources before making a reservation to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable camping trip.

Hayes State Park Campground-East Loop Reviews
Pros: It’s a nice campground. East loop seems to have bigger sites than the west loop although we saw some sites in the west loop that had water hook ups. Most of the sites have woods behind them which is nice for privacy. The dump station has 3 stalls and seems newer than others at state parks.Cons: The water is horrendous. It was cloudy with a foul odor.
Aug 22, 2021 · KristinAfter swimming all 5 Great Lakes Lobo and I found the perfect place to spend the weekend.Hayes State Park, for you who may not know that is my last name. It seemed appropriate to celebrate our accomplishment their. We played at the beach and met many new friends along to way. The campground was a little tight to get around in, but so is a parking lot when you have a 40' rig. Anyway it was a relaxing stay and we'll definitely visit again. For now onward.#LivinLoboLife#WanderingWiL
Sep 20, 2021 · Wanderin WiLFirst time visiting this park and it was great. Loved the spacing between lots and nice asphalt pads. Went to Wamplers Beach which was nice with the grass leading to the waters edge. Will add to our list of state campgrounds to revisit.
Jul 24, 2022 · Paul BarekAways a great time! Showers are always clean. We make new friends every time we camp here. Amazing lake walking/biking distance from the camp sites. Dollar General and a Convenience Store just outside the park. We've visited several times and will continue!
Aug 07, 2022 · Nigel CiapparaHayes is a nice place to camp. I was a little disappointed in their kayaking options as I told they were available to rent. They only have 2 kayaks and 2 paddle boards available to all the guests. If they had more kayaks available it would have been a perfect weekend.
