Jackson Campground on the Applegate River Introduce
Looking for the perfect camping getaway close to home? For local users searching for "camping near me," Jackson Campground on the Applegate River offers a wonderful opportunity to immerse yourselves in nature. Located at 10250 Upper Applegate Rd, Jacksonville, OR 97530, USA, this campground provides a scenic and relaxing environment for tent and RV campers alike. You can reach them at (541) 618-2200 or their mobile number, +1 541-618-2200, for inquiries and reservations.
Based on feedback from fellow campers, Jackson Campground boasts some truly appealing features. Many appreciate the proximity to the Applegate River, with "great river spots" offering opportunities for relaxation and recreation. Imagine spending your days by the water, enjoying the natural beauty of the area. Campers have also highlighted the helpfulness and mindfulness of the camp staff, noting instances where they went above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay. One reviewer mentioned a friendly camp host who even offered a relaxed checkout time, showcasing a welcoming and accommodating atmosphere.
The campsites themselves are described as clean and well-maintained, providing a comfortable base for your outdoor adventure. The layout of the campground seems to offer a degree of privacy, with sites spaced far enough apart to allow you to feel like you have your own little piece of nature. For those who enjoy lounging, there are "lots of places to hang out hammocks," perfect for unwinding and soaking in the peaceful surroundings.
However, it's important to provide a balanced perspective. One recurring concern mentioned by a reviewer pertains to the cleanliness of the restrooms. Specifically, the women's restroom was noted to have had the same unsanitary condition over multiple visits. While other aspects of the campground received positive feedback, this is something potential visitors should be aware of. We encourage the campground management to address these concerns to ensure a consistently positive experience for all guests.
Another point to consider is the presence of poison oak. While one reviewer mentioned that it is "for the most part kept at bay in the sites themselves," it's advisable for campers to be aware of this and take necessary precautions, especially when exploring areas beyond their immediate campsite.
Regarding pricing, one reviewer noted that the cost is $30 per night, and this rate seems to apply to both RV and tent sites. While some might find this equitable, others may find it "odd" if they are only using a tent and not requiring the hookups and amenities typically associated with RV sites. It's worth considering this pricing structure when making your decision.
In summary, Jackson Campground on the Applegate River appears to be a generally well-regarded local camping destination. Its strengths lie in its beautiful river access, helpful staff, clean and relatively private campsites, and opportunities for relaxation. While there are some areas for potential improvement, such as restroom cleanliness and awareness of the poison oak, many visitors have found it to be a "great escape that's still close to home."
If you're a local user searching for "camping near me" and value a picturesque riverside setting with friendly service, Jackson Campground on the Applegate River could be an excellent choice for your next outdoor adventure. We recommend contacting them directly at (541) 618-2200 to inquire about availability and any current updates. Experience the natural beauty of Southern Oregon and create lasting memories at Jackson Campground!

Jackson Campground on the Applegate River Reviews
We really love it here! The river spots are great. The camp staff is helpful and mindful. The restrooms are really nice minus they are not cleaned very well the woman’s restroom had the same poop smear both weekends we’ve went. Along the side of it and in The middle where the seat parts in the big bathroom SUPER GROSS! There’s a ton of poison oak, though for the most part it’s kept at bay in the sites themselves. Lots of places to hang out hammocks and the sites are far enough apart to have some sense of privacy. The sites are clean and well maintained. Same price for an RV and a tent though seems odd. $30 a night. Have fun!
Apr 23, 2024 · Meadow Michelle SchoenleberMy 3rd time here and its still a great escape that's still close to home. Camp host was friendly and was ready to do anything to make our stay better. He told us not to rush on the morning of check out and told us we could stay a couple hrs longer if we wanted which was pretty cool. River access was beautiful too!
Jul 09, 2023 · Tony SimonelliJackson is a great little campground. There are usually spots available for the night here. Jackson always has a great on-site host. The last guy would walk his cat around on a leash to make sure everyone paid. He was an incredible host and always made me smile. Most sites are pretty spacious and all have river access with a quick walk. This is honestly my favorite close by river spot.
Aug 06, 2024 · Chris CahillSuch a beautiful area to camp at. The camping spots are right next to the river, they have trails that lead to little beaches with some sand even. The bathrooms are very clean and nice. No showers. The host is friendly and has the 2 most adorable cats😂 they wear vests with spikes on them. They make great security servicers ❤️
